## What is WandrLyst?

WandrLyst transforms web research into organized itineraries. Capture travel articles and blogs, extract places automatically, then build location-aware day-by-day plans—all in one app.
From scattered research to structured plans
Planning a trip means drowning in browser tabs, screenshots, and saved links. WandrLyst captures your research, turns it into actionable placemarks, then organizes everything into an itinerary based on location and timing.
How it works:
Research → Placemarks → Itinerary
Save articles about "10 Best Ramen Shops in Osaka" or "Hidden Gems in Lisbon." Extract locations with one tap. Build your days around them automatically. Adjust on the fly when plans change.
Key Features:

Research Sources – Capture travel articles from anywhere on the web using the share extension. AI extracts placemarks and notes from full articles or selected quotes. Browse pre-curated travel sources or save your own discoveries. Organize research by trip with tags and categories.
Placemarks Library – Extracted places save automatically to your library. Add restaurants, museums, parks, and activities to your itinerary manually or let AI organize them for you.
Smart Itinerary Builder – Turn saved placemarks into a day-by-day plan with one tap. AI organizes activities by location and timing to maximize your time. Drag and drop to reorganize. View as timeline or calendar.
Ask WandrLyst – Get travel advice backed by verified sources. Ask questions, confirm details, adjust plans on the fly. The more placemarks you save, the better the recommendations.
Collaborative Planning – Invite travel companions to view and edit together. Share research sources, contribute placemarks, refine the itinerary. Everyone participates, no one does all the work.
Adapt in Real-Time – Weather alerts notify you of changes. Quickly reorganize your day if plans shift. Swap activities between days with drag and drop.
Location-Aware – See travel times between activities. Group nearby places together. Plan efficiently around geography, not just interest.

Perfect for:

Exploring unfamiliar cities where you don't speak the language
Turning hours of scattered web research into actionable plans
Coordinating group trips with different interests and schedules
Maximizing limited vacation time with organized, location-based planning

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.6.3 — 2026-08-22

Save places straight from Safari — and a fix for new subscribers.

New: WandrLyst for Safari
Turn it on in Settings > Safari > Extensions, then save places from any page
you're reading straight into a trip, without leaving Safari.

Fixes
• Subscribing now takes effect immediately. If you subscribed recently and still
saw limits on AI place extraction or itinerary building, this release fixes it.
You can also restore access right away with Settings > Restore Purchases.
• Assorted stability and polish improvements.

### 1.6.2 — 2026-08-20

A clearer start, and your suggestions on the map.

A simpler first run
The intro carousel is gone. New travellers now open straight into WandrLyst, on
a home screen that says what the app actually makes — with the option to load a
ready-made two-day sample trip on iPhone: a real, editable itinerary you can
open, rearrange, or delete.

See suggestions on the map
When Ask WandrLyst recommends places, tap "View in Map" to see them all as pins
on your trip map and step through them one by one. These previously appeared as
unusable link text.

Fixes
• The subscription screen now closes itself once a purchase completes.
• Premium unlocks straight away after subscribing, with no need to reopen the app.
• The allowance shown in Ask WandrLyst reports the correct number of remaining
  extractions.
• Travel Advisories are available to everyone, on every plan.
• Assorted stability and polish improvements.

### 1.6.1 — 2026-07-30

This update gives WandrLyst a fresh new look and makes planning a trip feel like laying it out on a map.

A refreshed design
A cleaner, warmer look across your places, itinerary, and trip screens — with an improved dark mode that's easier on the eyes at night.

A redesigned trip view
Open any trip and it now unfolds on a full-screen map. Pull up the panel to see the trip's places, days, and sections, browse your saved spots right there, and tap a day (D1, D2…) to focus the map on that day's plan.

Read your research offline
Articles and web pages you've saved to a trip are now stored for reading without a connection — perfect for the plane or spotty hotel Wi-Fi.

Smarter research
• Official regional sources — curated tourism-board and destination sources now appear in your Research "Sources".
• Research alerts — get a heads-up when we find new suggested sources for an upcoming trip.

More to explore for free
Every new trip now includes a bigger free allowance for pulling places and notes from the web before an upgrade is suggested.

Plus performance improvements, refinements, and bug fixes throughout. Happy travels!

### 1.6.0 — 2026-07-09

Read your research anywhere — even offline.

This update introduces Offline Articles. Save any travel article or guide from your research and read it later with no connection at all — on a
plane, underground, or with roaming off.

  • Tap the download button while reading to save an article for offline
  • Saved articles live in your sources, marked so you know they're ready offline
  • When you're offline, your saved copy opens automatically
  • Manage what's stored — and free up space — anytime in Settings

Plus performance refinements and the usual polish. Bon voyage!

### 1.5.1 — 2026-06-23

This update brings a round of design refinements and fixes:

  • Refreshed Travel Advisories with a cleaner, easier-to-scan layout
  • A simpler, redesigned flow for inviting travel companions to your trip
  • Your trip map now shows the date for each day at a glance
  • Localization and reliability improvements
