## What is Waqt?

Waqt adds a small pause before the apps that pull you in. One breath. Then a choice — open with intent, or let it go.

Most screen time apps treat your phone like a budget to enforce. Waqt treats it like a habit to soften. The Gap is a five-second moment between the impulse and the feed — long enough to notice why you reached for the phone, short enough to feel like nothing.

HOW IT WORKS
— Pick the apps that pull you in: Instagram, TikTok, X, YouTube, any of them.
— Choose a mode: Light (gentle), Balance (Gap + breathing), or Hard (daily limit).
— Waqt steps in when you open one of those apps. A short pause, then your choice.
— Your daily limit drops a little each week, so the change is gradual, not a cliff.

THREE MODES
LIGHT — a quiet check-in, every 15 to 60 minutes. No blocking.
BALANCE — Light, plus a breathing pause when usage stacks up.
HARD — Balance, plus a daily limit. When you reach it, the breath repeats.

BUILT FOR INTENTION
— The Gap: a five-second pause on every open
— Breathing exercise: four in, four hold, six out — three cycles
— Weekly reduction: 5%, 10%, or 20% off your daily limit each week
— Multiple rules in parallel: different settings for different apps
— Daily Opens counter: notice the pickups you didn't mean to make
— Awareness analytics: what you opened, how often, how long
— Custom mode (Premium): set your own Gap, breathing rhythm, and limit

PRIVACY, BY DESIGN
Waqt does not have a server. No accounts. No analytics. No third-party SDKs. No tracking.

Every rule, every count, every minute stays on your iPhone. Apple's Family Controls framework lets Waqt notice that an app was opened — never what you did inside it.

WAQT PREMIUM
Free: one rule in Light mode, basic stats.
Premium: all modes, multiple rules, full analytics. 7-day free trial, then yearly subscription. Cancel anytime in Settings.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.1.0 — 2026-07-20

What’s New in This Version
A more active, flexible way to protect your attention.
• Turn app unlocks into movement. Choose camera-guided exercises such as push-ups, squats, planks, or 6–7 for regular pauses and hard limits.
• Set a different screen-time limit for every day of the week—or leave selected days unrestricted.
• Block selected apps during Focus sessions and enjoy immersive ambient scenes with a redesigned Live Activity.
• Clearer exercise guidance, smoother performance, more reliable notifications, and other improvements.
Exercise recognition happens on-device, so your camera data stays on your iPhone.

### 1.0.3 — 2026-06-24

Waqt now speaks your language.

This update adds German, Turkish, Indonesian, Spanish, French, Portuguese (Brazil), Japanese, Korean, and Arabic — with full right-to-left layout for Arabic.

Plus small fixes to keep things calm and steady. Thank you for being here.

### 1.0.2 — 2026-06-15

Your week, told back to you — and sound for your focus.
WEEKLY INSIGHTS
• Every Sunday evening waqt wraps up your week: impulses intercepted, mindful opens, real screen time, your streak and how your limits came down.
• The rhythm of your week, day by day — your quietest and loudest days, plus how it compares to the week before.
• A share card included: a clean snapshot of your week for stories or chats.
• As always, everything is computed on your device. Nothing leaves it.
FOCUS
• Ambient sounds — rain, white noise, brown noise, forest, ocean, fireplace and cafe. Rain and white noise are free; the full library is part of waqt Pro.
• The timer now lives in the background: phase alerts arrive on your lock screen, and the Live Activity keeps ticking while a sound is playing.
• Tap the Live Activity to jump straight back to your timer.
• Honest stats: skipped and interrupted sessions count only the minutes you actually focused.

### 1.0.1 — 2026-06-06

A calmer, more polished Waqt.

• Redesigned onboarding — softer visuals and gentle motion throughout
• Breathing now has optional ocean sound, with separate sound and haptic controls during the exercise, plus a quiet countdown before you begin
• More ways to customize your modes, with refreshed defaults
• Smaller fixes and refinements across the app

As always — no server, no tracking. Everything stays on your iPhone.
