## What is Waqtain?

Waqtain shows the work time you actually have between the five daily prayers, and fits your meetings and tasks into it.

It isn't a prayer app with productivity features bolted on. It's a productivity app whose timeline is prayer.

■ Automatic work windows
Your windows are rebuilt every day from that day's times, with time for travel and wudu reserved before and after each prayer. You see what is genuinely left, not what merely looks empty in a calendar.

■ Tasks split at the prayer
Long work that won't fit before the adhan is cut at the prayer and placed either side of it. Anything that doesn't fit in the day is shown to you plainly rather than dropped in silence.

■ Meeting slots
When you're arranging a time, Waqtain lists only the open slots that don't cross a prayer, and shows how much room is left before the next one.

■ Focus timer
Start a focus session on any task in a window. It runs until the next prayer, counts down quietly by the minute, and the time you complete is summed up as "This week's focus" in the week view.

■ Calendar integration
If you've added a Google or Exchange account to the iOS Calendar, those events appear over your work windows. You can also export prayer blocks to a dedicated calendar named Waqtain so colleagues see you as busy. Your existing calendars are never written to.

■ Jumu'ah and Ramadan
Friday has a different time structure, so it is handled separately and the morning window shortens automatically. During Ramadan, suhoor, iftar and taraweeh are shown.

■ Widget
Time left until the next prayer and your current work window, on the Home and Lock Screen, without opening the app.

■ About prayer times
Times are estimates, calculated on your device from the position of the sun using your selected method and coordinates. Actual iqamah times vary by mosque and region. Your local mosque is the reference.

Thirteen calculation methods are available: Umm al-Qura, Dubai, Qatar, Kuwait, Oman, Bahrain, Gulf Region, Muslim World League and others, along with a choice for Asr. The app does not designate any method as correct. Each prayer can be adjusted by minutes to match your mosque.

■ Privacy
Apart from App Store purchase processing, the app does not connect to the internet. Your location is used only to calculate prayer times and never leaves your device. There is no account, no ads and no tracking. Calendar syncing is performed by iOS itself.

■ Pricing
Prayer times, notifications and the widget stay free forever. Waqtain Pro is a one-time purchase that unlocks unlimited tasks, week-long auto-scheduling, unlimited focus sessions, meeting slots, calendar export and backup. It is not a subscription.

## Version history (last 4 releases)

### 1.3 — 2026-11-02

v1.3 aligns the displayed prayer times with the timetables published by the authorities.

• Displayed prayer times change. We compared the app with the 2026 timetables published by the authorities in Saudi Arabia (Umm al-Qura), the UAE (Dubai), Oman and Bahrain, and matched how minutes are rounded and the minute adjustments included in those timetables. Depending on your region and the prayer, times may now show a few minutes later. You still choose the calculation method in Settings, and your per-prayer adjustments are kept.
• Added calculation methods for Oman and Bahrain. If you used "Gulf Region", you can switch in Settings.
• Added Paris, Marseille, Lyon, Casablanca, Algiers, Tunis, Baghdad, Tripoli, Lisbon and Stockholm to the city list, now grouped by country.
• At the largest text sizes, the date, Hijri date and prayer times on Home no longer run off the screen.
• Purchases waiting for approval (Family Sharing) and purchases made on another device now apply while the app is open, and the week plan is rebuilt right after a purchase.
• Restore Purchase now tells a connection failure apart from having nothing to restore.
• If restoring a backup fails partway, your settings are no longer changed on their own.
• Waqtain is now available in 34 languages, including French, German, Spanish, Turkish, Indonesian and Malay. You can switch the language in Settings.

Displayed times remain estimates. Please follow your local mosque's announcements.

### 1.2 — 2026-09-22

v1.2 is about making what the app says match what it does.

• Your city name is now chosen from the built-in city list on your device. Previously the app sent your coordinates to Apple's geocoding service to get a place name. There is no longer any path by which your location leaves the device.
• Every piece of text now follows your Dynamic Type size setting.
• Backups now include per-prayer adjustments, the working-day range and display settings. Files from 1.0 / 1.1 still restore.
• Editing or completing a task updates today's windows immediately, and changing a setting reschedules notifications.
• Deleting a task can be undone, and a sheet with unsaved edits asks before it is swiped away.
• Counts now read correctly in singular and plural.
• The first onboarding screen shows what the app does in three steps.

### 1.1 — 2026-08-21

v1.1 is about getting the display right, and showing you the records you have already built up.

• Fixed meeting slots (Pro) showing a raw string key instead of the text.
• Fixed the number beside it. It is the time until your pre-prayer buffer starts (travel and wudu), not the time until the adhan.
• Every duration on screen now carries its unit.
• Rebuilt the dark palette so text meets contrast on every surface, including filled buttons and badges.
• Added "This week's focus" to the week view. It is free.
• The notification toggle now matches the system permission. If notifications are denied it says so and offers a way to Settings.
• Backups now include focus sessions and calendar links. Files written by 1.0 still restore.
• You can now rebuild the export calendar if you deleted it in the Calendar app.
• Fixed a case where the app could look as though it had lost your data when the store failed to open. Your files are never touched.
