## Newest reviews (16 of 46)

### 2/5 — Takes an age

*2024-12-29, version 1.39.9*

It would be much higher but there is one fundamental issue, it takes an age for any new sets to be added, where is the Brotherhood without banners starter and expansions? Still waiting, these updates should be released on the same day as the sets are released.

### 4/5 — Missing heroes?

*2024-04-29, version 1.36.1*

App is great, seems to function as intended. However, the Hand of the King set is missing Ramsay Snow which is integral to strategies.
Edit: please add Winterfell Guards

### 2/5 — Documents Don’t Work

*2024-02-01*

The documents will not download within the app so you can only view cards. You can’t view anything under the documents tab. There is no way to submit feedback for the app, and the “support” website has nothing for the War Council app. I will be happy to update this review when things are fixed.

### 3/5 — Poor controls no historical battle scenarios uploaded

*2023-09-27*

Being able to swipe with your thumb, left to right, to get out of windows would make it easier than pressing the back button. Things like this should be available and done.

No historical battle scenarios like Battle Whispering Woods they created (and more) uploaded.

### 3/5 — Poor controls

*2023-09-25*

Being able to swipe with your thumb, left to right, to get out of windows would make it easier than pressing the back button. Things like this should be available and done.

### 4/5 — Missing heroes?

*2023-04-21*

App is great, seems to function as intended. However, the Hand of the King set is missing Ramsay Snow which is integral to strategies.

### 2/5 — Needs Updates.

*2022-09-28, version 1.26.1*

Update the app.
No Martell, no Varamyr, Targ 3… tough that the “official app” doesn’t support units well into it their release…

### 3/5 — NEEDS UPDATE!!!

*2022-09-03, version 1.26.1*

No drowned men, but GC is already in? Update! PLEASE!

### 3/5 — Great but never updated

*2021-11-16, version 1.22.3*

One of the simplest and easiest to use list building apps for a tabletop wargame game.
The ability to keep track of what you own and to limit lists to those items you do own are great.

The only downfall is the app is rarely updated and you’ll spend months with the app missing new units boxes that you’ve bought since the last update

### 4/5 — Needs Errors Fixed but Awesome Game

*2021-10-11, version 1.22*

There are some errors with cards in the app. Some of the commander cards show the abilities they give to a specific unit instead of the abilities they provide as a commander. Jaime Lannister and the mountain both have this issue.

### 4/5 — Worth its weight in gold.

*2021-05-13, version 1.20.3*

I love this app. It makes a huge difference in army building. Much easier to try different builds using this. The last update seems to have left out the dragon mechanics for the Targaryens, but I’m sure this just needs a bug fix.

### 3/5 — Can’t create armies since Update

*2021-03-26, version 1.20*

This app has been amazing until the new update made it so I can’t create any armies on it. I was excited to create a Greyjoy army and now I can’t do it.

### 3/5 — Alright but making swiping easier

*2020-07-28, version 1.17.1*

Being able to swipe with your thumb to get out of windows would make it easier than pressing a button.

### 3/5 — Good App - just needs to be kept up to date

*2020-06-24, version 1.16.0*

The app is good and pretty much integral to playing the game, however the current version is missing some of the newer releases meaning that other 3rd party offerings for list building need to be used

### 5/5 — Started off rocky but now worth

*2019-07-03, version 1.7.0*

Just like the title says, the app started off rocky and that’s where a lot of the 1-2 stars came from. Now while it’s not perfect, it’s pretty solid for what it does and offers and currently keep being updated so even better.

### 5/5 — Excellent app

*2019-06-13, version 1.6.0*

Very useful app if you play ASOIAF, or are even thinking about playing it.
As well as a good, pretty even, army builder it has all the units, cards, rules and even scenarios. Highly recommended.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Needs update

*2022-06-06, version 1.25.1*

Costs have changed and there are new units not included on the app.

### 1/5 — Update

*2022-04-19, version 1.23.1*

Please update the units cost have changed in the past 3 months

### 1/5 — Unusable until updated

*2021-10-03, version 1.20.4*

New rules are out and paper unit cards are obsolete.

### 1/5 — Ooooops

*2019-05-11, version 1.5.0*

This is a great app, BUT, it seems to have developed a glitch. I used to be able to print my lists, and now I can’t. Nor can I save my pdf formatted lists. What’s going on? 🥴😖. PS, I am using an iPhone 6S plus.

### 1/5 — Needs an update

*2018-12-03, version 1.0.3*

Cannot add commanders to the army list. Also needs a defined area for attachments per units.

### 1/5 — Can’t add commander and does not scale well

*2018-11-30, version 1.0.3*

Not intuitive in how to add a commander and no directions on how to use. Still haven’t figured out how to add a commander. Finally figured out that I had to reduce the text scale size to be able to expose the + and - keys to add figures to my collection. Needs instructions.

### 1/5 — Not usable in current form

*2018-11-11, version 1.0.2*

Tried to use it for the first time to build a 40pt Lannister army. On my Pixel2 phone, the formatting is so bad, I can’t click on the +1 to add a SvL starter set to my collection. Switched to my iPad and the formatting is fine. Added all my units to my collection. Tried to choose The Mountain as my commander and see that only two Lannister units are available to choose as Commanders even though I have a starter set added in my collection.

Nice concept, but did anyone play test this thing at all? How could that have been missed. Love the game, but this app is useless.

### 1/5 — Need to update in timely fashion

*2018-11-02, version 1.0.1*

Good interface overall but needs to be updated with the latest products available on the market, that feels like a ball that has been dropped very badly.

### 1/5 — Wont display proper units

*2018-10-16, version 1.0*

Wont display commander units

### 2/5 — Good but could be better.

*2025-02-11, version 1.40.2*

Good but could be better. No button to give direct feedback on app. No ability to swiping on phone to go back instead of hitting the back button or when deleting specific armies or to export from the army itself by holding down like other apps. Effectively doesn’t utilize the full feature of the phone which is simple to do. No windows version to print tactic cards since the game changes constantly (exporting from phone or printing from phone is a hassle). No way print the tactic cards (including commander cards), which you need the physical version of, or unit cards since the game changes constantly. Needs “what’s new” within the app. The FAQ needs to be divided better (with different factions having their own FAQ along with the game).

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Great app. Needs updated with newest units

*2024-03-04, version 1.34.3*

Fantastic app. Very helpful. Just needs newest units added

### 5/5 — Essential Free App

*2024-01-20, version 1.32.3*

Great app that’s completely free. Makes building armies super easy. Excellent for referring to unit rules. Game changer of an app compared to other systems.

### 5/5 — Great App

*2023-10-17, version 1.31.4*

Just got into the game. I’m a House Bolton guy. The app does need an update as I can’t add any neutral units or hero’s to my force.

### 5/5 — Great companion to the ASOIAF miniature game

*2023-02-28*

The app is nice to check any updates to units and cards for the song of ice and Fire miniature game.

### 5/5 — Great game

*2022-12-11, version 1.28.0*

The game is amazing. The app could use a lot of UX work. But I gave it a 5 because of how much fun the game is.

### 5/5 — ?

*2022-05-14, version 1.25.1*

I have no clue how to use this app

### 5/5 — I love it, use it everyday!

*2021-12-17, version 1.22.3*

I’m addicted to the song game but this app makes it worse. Easy to use app to create army lists and day dream about the next game while away from the table top. Only wish you could add more than 99 point for max army size. My friend group and I play very large games and wish this was a feature.

### 5/5 — Amazing resource

*2021-05-14, version 1.20.3*

A great resource from CMON. Not all companies would be generous enough to publish all their rules and stats freely. The information is awesome for those wanting to research their opposition’s strengths and weaknesses. A must have for ASOIAF players.

### 5/5 — Love this App!!

*2020-03-26, version 1.16.0*

Dude everything is there for you to create!! I only wish they included units or expansions we know are about to drop. Other than that, I love going on here and creating my armies. It would be cool if they created a function where you can unite factions. But it still super dope!!

### 5/5 — One app to rule them all.

*2019-12-09, version 1.12.0*

CMON have nailed tabletop’s conundrum in the digital age: keeping players up to date. Unlike the revised and often expensive need to maintain current editions they’ve created a single place to see current rules, FAQs and unit abilities. Gone are the days of buying a new book of rules every month. More tabletop providers should adopt this method.
