## What is Wargame?

A classic hex and counter wargame, simulating the 1940 campaign in the West - the famous Fall of France, along with Belgium and Holland.

The game is big, with over 300 units, mostly divisions, representing Germany, Holland, Belgium, Britain, France, and even Poland. There are infantry, fortresses, tanks (Panzers), parachutists, and more.

There are 4 options (plus a random choice) for the French player (either human or AI):
1. Dyle plan - the default (and historical) option, with the best allied armies poised to march through Belgium to counter the expected German attack.
2. Escaut plan - same deployment as Dyle, only differs for the AI player, as this was a more cautious, limited advance into Belgium.
3. No B.E.F. - hypothetical scenario where Britain is neutral.
4. Reserves - the French 7th army was originally meant to be a strategic reserve, instead of the extreme left of the Allied line. This option puts it in reserve near Paris.

The German player has 5 options (plus the random one), again either human or AI:
1. Manstein plan - the default option is the famous historical sickle cut through the Ardennes.
2. Hadler plan - Original plan was a variant on the old Schlieffen plan only on a broad front in Belgium and Holland.
3. Belgium plan - This was a concentrated thrust through Belgium, which would have met the Dyle plan head on.
4. Compromise - Hitler proposed a compromise plan, which had a secondary thrust through the Ardennes, with the main effort in Belgium.
5. A Strasburg hypothetical plan puts Panzergruppe Kleist, backed up by 7th Army reinforced with 3 infantry corps attacking South of Strasburg through the Maginot line!

### 5/5 — AMAZINGING!

*2020-01-28, version 16*

Great game with lots of replay ability. Very few bugs and never crashes. Although my one complaint is that supply is odd and I do not understand it so I have units that are doing just fine that are out of supply so they cannot attack. Overall a great game that is worth the money. Cannot wait for more games by this developer.

### 1/5 — Unplayable!!!! On iPad

*2019-08-28, version 16*

I am an Avalon Hill fanatic, so I had great hopes for this game. However, I’ll never find out. From the minute I loaded it I suspected I was in trouble - NO LANDSCAPE MODE! Making it impossible to view enough of the map without getting a magnifying glass. Tabs at bottom were unreadable and thus useless. Do not buy!!!

### 1/5 — Can’t play it!

*2018-11-29, version 16*

Words are too small to read on both iPad and iPhone. Can’t play the game.

### 5/5 — Strategic and historical

*2017-11-13, version 16*

Must buy for military history buffs. This game is huge and has tons of combinations of setups so you can play it over and over. There menu options are very basic and the graphics are low quality but I’ve never had any technical issues.

### 1/5 — Freezes at resolution screen

*2017-07-10, version 15*

This app freezes at the resolution screen and then reboots the iPad. Wargame Poland works well. This needs to be fixed.

### 5/5 — Great Wargame

*2016-01-06, version 15*

Won the battle of Sedan with French armor; stopped the fall of France; saved the Belgians with the British Expenitionary; Dutch surrendered too early. Now I will try the other historically accurate offense and defense plans... Maybe even randomize them for fun.

One problem: save a lot because it crashes.

### 2/5 — Crashes always

*2015-09-20, version 15*

Goes about half a turn and crashes. Tried to save often but got to be too much of a hassle. Interesting game wished it worked. iPad Air.

### 4/5 — Good Military Board Game

*2015-07-17, version 15*

A very playable implementation of an Avalon Hill or older SPI style board game. AI is a reasonably competent opponent. I've had no technical challenges (bugs, etc.) with this game. A little more information for the player (detailed post-battle and turn stats) would be helpful, particularly after the opposing player's turn.

### 4/5 — Great Game!

*2015-05-08, version 15*

Plays like the Avalon Hill board games from the seventies and the SSI computer games from the 80's. I'll buy every WWII game that is created. Needs some background music and a little better view into the AI's turn.

### 5/5 — Definitely worth buying!

*2014-09-02, version 15*

The free games were excellent but the scope and replayability for this one make it completely worth the purchase price. I'm a huge fan of all of the games from this developer and have bought them all.
