Will continue to play though I am hoping the developer will update. Can’t wait for more games by this developer. ### 4/5 — Ok *2017-11-30, version 118* Game that downloaded was Korsun not Poland 39. The game feels unfinished and the map leaves a lot to be desired; keeping to the original board game map isn’t really nostalgia unless the game was a true classic, like Avalon Hill’s Blitzkrieg or something. Otherwise the map is lackluster at best. Counter values are very small, even zoomed in. SS units probably should be another color to denote them or labeled as such. A lack of multi-hex coordinated attack capability means I feel no unit cohesion or get any benefit from coordinated assaults; this runs counter to military doctrine in any army. Basically if you’re just going to scan into iOS the board game, I recommend passing on this series. Developer, you’re making the money, now put forth some effort and provide a better quality product - you’re not stuck in the 1970s with hand stenciled maps and hand cut unit counters. Good graphics these days are easy peasy to make. ### 4/5 — Download issue *2017-10-13, version 118* Downloaded the Poland app and it boots up as Korsun. Great accuracy and unit design. Definitely worth your time. ### 4/5 — Unfinished gem *2015-02-16, version 117* As others have noted, this app feels a bit unfinished, especially in terms of documentation, descriptions of game play, and some of the flow and chrome of other games. Despite this, it is a very nice little game, and reminded me of some of my old favorites from Avalon Hill. Would love to see the developer continue work on this. Glitch fixes would also be a major plus. ### 5/5 — Hex & Counter Wargame for iPad *2013-08-24, version 17* This is probably one of the first real hex & counter wargames for the ipad. Simple and quick to play but has a lot of depth built into it. I hope the dev would take time to address the following points in a future update: 1. Increase resolution since a lot of the screen seems taken up by two or three menu items on top 2. Getting multiple units to attack simultaneously 3. Feedback before comming to battle (as far as I can see, there is no way to know in advance what are the possible outcomes) 4. I'm sure there is a Combat Result Table being used in the background. Would be great if we can see it before committing to the battle (as in #3) and know what die rol we got Again, game is a lot of fun to play and captures the feel of tabletop wargames. I realize it’s free, but, the developer could have made it a little more realistic. No air power, the Polish Army is almost as strong as the Germans. I played it 10 times and could never get better than a poor victory for the Germans. The Poles were no where near as strong as the Germans but it isn’t like that in the game. Also they need to put AirPower in the game as that is where the Germans really shined. ### 1/5 — Wrong game... *2017-11-24, version 118* Downloaded poland and it is instead Korsun! Make it more like hearts of iron and id pay for this ### 2/5 — Unfinished *2013-08-23, version 17* This game has a lot of potential- obviously well researched, but no documentation I could find on gameplay, and the zoom feature went bananas after about 5 minutes of play. There's also no obvious feedback after a battle, and multiple units can't attack together- it's more of a one after another kind of battle. With some more work on graphics and gameplay this could be a really good game. Hadn’t played in awhile and launched Poland and all of a sudden the game is Korsun. Even uninstall and reload has not fixed. Would give the original Poland game 5 Stars and would be happy to pay for these games since they are excellent. ### 5/5 — A true hex and counter wargame on IOS, however... *2015-06-18, version 117* I love war games, namely those that have historical accuracy. Still, this is the closest anyone has come yet to producing a true wargame and despite it's faults on that metric it's better than Shanendoah Studios' Battle of the Bulge.
