### 4/5 — Great for beginners!

*2026-08-27, version 3.45.0*

This app is a great start for beginners just starting their Warhammer hobby journey. Handy functions like a paint inventory/wishlist and the ability to have multiple projects make organization much easier.

With that said, there are three things I’d love to see added:

1. 3D images for the models. The Warhammer website has this function already, and it’s disappointing that I have to continuously bounce out of the app, into the web to see how I need to paint the tops of heads and the backs of models.

2. The ability to sync my paint inventory, wishlist, and projects in iCloud so I can access them across multiple devices. Having my paint wishlist on my phone is fantastic if I need to pop by the local GW store to replenish or add paints to my collection, but I prefer to use the iPad for viewing a reference image of my model while painting. Syncing all this data to iCloud so I can access it all across my devices would be an excellent addition!

3. Categories for box sets. For example, I am currently working on the Armageddon 11th Edition launch box. It would be awesome if I could add the box as a project. This would also be very handy when working on any multi-model sets.

Bonus request: a true landscape mode for the iPad version of the app would be amazing!

Overall, I’ve had a great experience using this app, but I believe adding these three features would make for a true 5-star experience.

### 2/5 — Why force me to browser

*2026-08-13, version 3.45.0*

Why can’t I watch painting tutorials through the app anymore? Dumb change.

### 3/5 — Paint Tutorials

*2026-07-26, version 3.45.0*

Bring back the in app tutorials I don’t want to go to “WARHAMMER academy” and then have to sign in to a “my WARHAMMER account” I just want to learn how to use different paints to paint my poor gray orcs :(

### 3/5 — Edit 3: he’s been around for awhile, where is he???

*2026-07-23, version 3.45.0*

Three words.
MASTER
OF
POSSESSION.
Such a cool model but…
Where is he? It’s been about 2 editions (6ish years) since his release (I believe) and he’s not in this app. Like what??? We have all the new 11th edition models but not the MASTER OF POSSESION???

### 4/5 — Great app, needs more features

*2026-07-02, version 3.44.0*

This app has single handily guided me through starting my first army and learning to paint Warhammer miniatures. Being able to create an inventory and wish-list is very helpful in organisation and tracking what paints you own and what paints you need/want.
I have 4 stars as great as the app is - there is something to be desired.

1. A 360 degree photo of the miniatures would benefit great or atleast multiple photos of the miniatures - sometimes I feel like I have to just guess what colours are required at the back of the model.

2. Zoom, let us zoom into the photos.

3. Variations of colour schemes - keeping to the colour scheme is important to me but it would helpful ie - edge highlight black with Eshin Grey or Dark Reaper - which in turn pairs with these second highlights etc

4. More models for factions - it’s limited. Compatible models are missing some faction schemes.

### 3/5 — Pas d’export de sa liste de pots

*2026-06-17*

Need of Contrast Paint Guide

*2026-06-09*

This App used to has a Contrast Paint Guide, but since an Update sometime it is deleted, WHY??

### 3/5 — Not a one stop shop

*2026-06-08, version 3.43.0*

Keeping this brief, it’s okay. The project planning stuff is quite good, but what is lacking are the actual paint guides. Far too vague, with single image references (what does the back of a dreadnaught look like?) mean that if you’re aiming for “parade ready” step by step, you’ll still have to look elsewhere for a proper guide. I understand it would probably take a dedicated team to build it out but at least include it for your launch box models.

### 4/5 — Edit 2: Missing some cool models

*2026-06-01, version 3.43.0*

FINALLY
My glorious king Szahrek, the Silent King is here. Thank you

BUT
where’s the Master of Possession? I love that dude

### 4/5 — Edit: Noice

*2026-05-18, version 3.43.0*

FINALLY
My glorious king Szahrek, the Silent King is here. Thank you

Still great app. Nothing new for me to add.

### 2/5 — Needs more

*2026-04-07, version 3.42.0*

Needs a 360° view for each model and the ability to tap on a specific part of the model and learn exactly what paint was used. Also, if there were an option to view the model in each separate stage of painting, that would be great.

### 4/5 — Swing

*2026-04-06, version 3.42.0*

I like this app, I use this app a lot but there’s a LOT of missing functionality. Everything from GW having the rotating models on their site but somehow missing from this app, to being able to wishlist paint colors in the app but there not being a handoff or add to cart function to then purchase them online, to having to track down every mini in a box separately instead of being able to select them as a group (Titus comes with the wardens, why do I have to find them all individually). This app is a good start but there are some quality of life improvements that seem like they should have been there from the beginning.

### 2/5 — Forgotten middle child of GW apps

*2026-04-04, version 3.42.0*

The app is actually a great idea… in theory. In practice, it’s utterly lacking in just about every aspect. Plenty of paint recipes for models that are so clearly wrong, while others are just outright missing (what blue eyes on Red Corsairs?).

If the app was given even a modicum of effort, it would be fantastic. It would be a great place to provide beginner level paint jobs all the way to ‘eavy Metal level work. Why not catalogue exact recipes that the ‘eavy Metal painters used for box art right within the app that is BEGGING for it? Instead, you get phoned in approximations of what colours might work to get the paint scheme you want.

### 4/5 — Great app but some more features would be great

*2026-02-28, version 3.41.0*

As someone who is very new to 40K and Warhammer as a whole. The creative side of this hobby is the biggest appeal to me and nothing pleased me more than an app that would help me not only build my paint collection - but guide me through painting those models.

Some things I would add -
The ability to zoom and then turn the models (multiple angles and photos maybe)
More in depth descriptions of where the colours go, not just the one circle - maybe the ability to select a part of the model and it tells you the specific colour of the part, not just the few they give you. Apart from that, I love this app and it would be 5 stars if those things were implement. Other than that, can’t fault it, the lessons are great, wishlist and inventory is perfect.

### 4/5 — good

*2026-02-11, version 3.41.0*

totally

### 2/5 — Downward spiral

*2026-01-24, version 3.40.0*

There is some useful stuff on the app.. but it’s so unnecessarily hard to find. You can’t just search for a type of unit or technique and can only filter via faction. It’s hard to tell but it seems like most of the old videos (pre Only Hands) have been taken off, which feels like a madness, and so you’re left with something much worse than it used to be or needs to be

### 4/5 — Great for iPhone but not for iPad

*2026-01-20, version 3.40.0*

Great for iPhone but not for iPad - lacks sync between devices. I have opened projects on iPhone and they don’t transfer to iPad app… same with list of paints

### 3/5 — Needs updating

*2026-01-15, version 3.40.0*

Models missing. Wish the search feature worked better.

### 4/5 — Utile, ma poco aggiornata

*2026-01-13, version 3.40.0*

### 2/5 — No sync between devices

*2026-01-09, version 3.40.0*

What's the point of logging in when there is no sync between devices? I added my paints on my iphone but I cannot see them on my ipad

### 4/5 — Update!!!

*2026-01-05, version 3.40.0*

Redoing this review as the app has finally been updated! Lucius now has his old and new model in, along with the rest of the Emperor’s children!!!
My only complaint from this new update is the ‘Discover More’ section. It brings you to Warhammer Community but it is outdated by over a year.
Szahrek, the Silent King still doesn’t exist in the app. I still have no clue how to properly spell Szahrek. It’s probably Szharek or something.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Pretty useless app

*2026-04-10, version 3.42.0*

So there are YouTube videos better than this app. The search colour function is stupid. I try to add a colour and it says I have no projects despite me creating a dozen in app. It doesn’t even have all the models! So if you want to paint a venerable dreadnought it has to be Ultralosers, the guys with the daddy issues or the Temu space Vikings. Useless as I want an app to test colour schemes on a model. This gen is such a pointless app.

### 1/5 — Missed opportunity

*2026-04-06, version 3.42.0*

While I think this app could be good, in fact very good in the future it is currently lacking in the basics. It would be so much better if a couple of small changes were made: for a start you need to be able to simply list which colours you are using on a project so you can recreate at a later date, not be forced to pick a preset list.

### 1/5 — Awful app - does not work

*2026-03-31, version 3.42.0*

On top of being a nightmare of an experience to get your desired miniature, once you do, you can’t even change the colours to experiment with different schemes. Don’t waste your time.

### 1/5 — It is time to fix this app

*2026-03-25, version 3.42.0*

Please add more features. I should be able to zoom and rotate the pictures like on Warhammer.com. There should be step by step instructions. There should be links to video instructions from the model if available. You should have contrast recipes like you had previously. I should be able to see what the color of a paint looks like on an object instead of just the swatch when picking out the color. Come on, it’s 2026. Let’s update this thing.

### 1/5 — Not worth it

*2026-01-29, version 3.41.0*

Multi-million dollar can’t fogure out how to let you edit the colours of the models. You can’t even select different colours to be listed under the model. The 3rd party app made by a single dude is 10 times better.

### 1/5 — Lacks features and updates

*2026-01-13, version 3.40.0*

Doesn’t get updated when new sets or models come out. It’s takes months. There is still no warhammer quest darkwater or Blood bowl season 3 items. There’s a lack of looking at all sides of the object you are painting. And not all paint colors on the model are listed.

### 1/5 — Abandoned

*2026-01-06, version 3.40.0*

The app did not have any models I am working on, nor did it have the paint I tried to look up. Easy delete.

### 1/5 — Not working

*2025-10-16, version 3.39.0*

This app is forgotten, can’t even login

### 1/5 — Auf iPad eine große Enttäuschung

*2025-10-15, version 3.39.0*

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Paint inventory

*2026-06-25, version 3.44.0*

Please update paint by model guide with 360 view of model and contrast painting guide

### 5/5 — Room for improvement

*2026-04-11, version 3.42.0*

I downloaded this as a way of tracking my paint collection and making lists for when I’m in the store. I love that I can print my wishlist but could you make it so that we can print our inventory too?

### 5/5 — Just really good

*2025-09-21, version 3.39.0*

This app gets so much hate about some features which, really, no one uses. The ones people actually use are really good. Such as the hundreds of painting guides, the whole model list of all t minis in the game. The paint list and the continuing news update on the latest warhammer news. And so much more. This app is the perfect companion for anyone who likes warhammer. I really suggest you get it.

### 5/5 — The best app ever

*2025-06-04, version 3.39.0*

I spend hours researching and planning paint jobs but there needs to be more videos I’ve watched them hundreds of time all out i give it 5/5

### 5/5 — A Fine App

*2025-04-20, version 3.39.0*

This app is such a great asset, it can help me plan future paint projects by browsing the colours.
My only criticism is that as a person who has to hobby on a strict budget there is no feature that allows me to see what paint schemes I can achieve based on the paints I currently own.
If there was a feature where I could input what Citadel Colour paints I have and the app gives me a list of what I colour schemes I can achieve, this app would be pretty much perfect.

### 5/5 — Really good

*2025-04-14, version 3.39.0*

😁😁😁😁😁😁

### 5/5 — Helpful App - Needs Improving

*2025-03-09, version 3.39.0*

I love the app and considering it is free 5 stars. I do hope GW invests more into it and also promotes it more so they great a return on more sales when more people paint!

*2025-03-05*
