### 4/5 — Lacking autosend

*2026-05-10*

I enjoy many of the design choices. I dig the retro feel, and the unit upgrades. However, much like how unit autosend was crucial to the ui of “Warlords: Call to Arms” and the sequel, it is necessary here. Necessary, and absent. Please add unit autosend to this game. Last selected unit deploys in last selected battle row when its deployment cycle is ready. Also, let me pick the lane of deployment at my leisure, not just when units are ready. Think about it, devs.

### 4/5 — Kusakir

*2025-10-19, version 13*

Fun, but the last level is cheap. Spamming giants in a single row is annoying

### 4/5 — I wish I could give five star

*2025-06-23, version 13*

I love the game but it says there’s dwarfs isn’t in the game that’s why I have to give it 4 star

### 4/5 — Could use more updates

*2025-03-06*

I think this game is overall fun to play and has really good gameplay, and it would be great if it was given around the same amount of attention as Trench Warfare

### 4/5 — where are dwarves ?

*2025-03-03*

hi the simplebit team i hope if you read this game is good but where are the dwarves update it's been three years since elves update i hope this game is not dead as used to be

### 4/5 — Pls just add the dwarfs!

*2024-11-03, version 13*

The dwarfs are ICONIC to medival fantasy! And would make the game even more fun! So pls add the dwarfs as soon as possible. No pressure.

### 4/5 — does this game get updates anymore?

*2024-05-18*

### 4/5 — Reaset progress button!!!

*2024-02-19*

### 3/5 — I like it

*2024-01-12, version 9.0*

### 5/5 — A loyal fan's advice for you

*2023-12-05*

Hello, developer. I am a player from China. I like your game very much. I have also played it for a long time, including this game and another 1917. I hope you can launch Chinese as soon as possible, because many Chinese players like your game as I do, but they generally can't play this game normally because they don't have Chinese and their own English level. I suggest you go to a software called bilibili to register an account and ask for Chinese people there. There will be many fans who are willing to help you.

### 5/5 — Work In Progress

*2023-11-28*

I love all the games that these guys make (2 lol) and this one is a nice casual game that is just pick up and play. There is real strategy and it can really make you think sometimes. However, this game does feel a bit unfinished, probably because they are working on their other game, but still. I really do look forward to the games new updates and think it really does have a lot of potential

### 3/5 — Really?

*2023-11-23*

You haven’t finished this game/released all factions, yet you’re using the update section to advertise a new game? I would give this a one star for that, very unprofessional, but the game is actually decent.

### 5/5 — Best game

*2023-11-07*

This game is awesome it definitely feels balanced, and NO pop up ads, if you want extra rewards you can watch ads, like watch an ad to get up to 5000 money🤩🤩 amazing. You don’t get that much money if you redo levels, but besides that 👍 great game.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Horrible

*2023-10-21*

The grind is insane. The strategy is non existent. You can’t adjust the volume or turn off the sounds. Commercial watching is a must to progress. You can’t replay missions to farm extra finances in order to continue. And there is zero information about what each unit does. It’s definitely programmed like paper rock scissors but they don’t tell who which unit is rock. And then on the next map the rock will change. Save your time and avoid this one.

### 1/5 — Me fizeram perder a fé que eu tinha na humanidade

*2023-05-15*

**Developer response:** Hi, the core mechanic of this game depends on tactics and speed. If you want an opposite experience, I would like to recommend you turn based games. These might be more suitable for you.

### 1/5 — Bad

*2023-04-05, version 2.0*

Disappointed

### 1/5 — READ THIS BEFORE PLAYING

*2023-04-05, version 2.0*

tl;dr do not purchase due to annoying monetizing and dull gameplay. Play this studios first game, Trench Warfare 1917, instead. This game has been long awaited for me personally because I loved the first one made by this studio. It had its own issues but often the rest of the game made up for it with fun visuals and engaging gameplay. Warlords Conquest: Enemy Lines (WCEL from here on out) has neither. The actual gameplay is no where near the level of the first and the visuals are lackluster compared to the first game. It also has a predatory monetization that jeopardizes the gameplay for the sake of money. The first issue mentioned is its lack of interesting visuals and gameplay. In Trench Warfare 1917 (TW from here on out), you waited for points to accumulate to purchase troops and special weapons like artillery strikes and sentries in order to help seize the next enemy trench and ultimately the flag. This lead to making decisions on what troops and ability to use with your limited resources in order to secure the next trench and hold it long enough for reinforcements to arrive. It’s the main loop of the game and it works great. Add along the look of sending dozens of men rushing forward with the iconic charge whistle, or the epic defense of having machine gunners mow down wave after wave of enemy and you have a very compelling game that serves a niche but strong audience. WCEL has non of that. I’m of course not expecting trenches in a medieval fantasy setting but there is nothing to replace it. It’s an entirely different gameplay that is super dumbed down and visually dull. There aren’t any sieges for the multiple forts and castles the litter the map, it’s always the same empty plane that you just mindlessly send troops down single file in. There aren’t any epic spells to cast to follow deployed troops or an epic unit to save up for (only orcs get a monstrous unit after playing at least halfway through both campaigns. Which is a huge issue I’ll get into soon) it’s incredible boring and uninteresting after the distinct visual flare of the first game. Another issue with the gameplay is how tedious it is waiting for the timers to reset so you can deploy another troop, TW had a similar problem with waiting for accumulating money but custom maps made up for this by giving you increased money set by the creator. WCEL has no online custom map mode. Nor does it a intense and fun survival mode like TW, not that the gameplay of WCEL really allows for it unfortunately. There is no crutch for WCEL to lean on for better gameplay because of this. It is strictly campaign. The next issue is the campaign difficulty and monetizing. The game relies heavy on gold to upgrade troops and gems to purchase special abilities. Both of these can be purchased with real life currency. This wouldn’t truly be an issue if it wasn’t for the absolute scarcity of gold and the prices it takes to upgrade units, which leads to harder battles which require special abilities to win; so when you run out of those special abilities you gotta buy more to hopefully win the next one. You can buy more with gold and gems but that uses resources that could upgrade troops. That is an issue as resources given are far too little for replaying missions, which can range from 1 gold for the first battles to 100 for the ones you just beat. Which probably didn’t give you enough for another upgrade to make em easier AND you used a special ability or two, leading you closer to having none. The gameplay is far too tedious and uninteresting to make grinding fun anyhow. Now, there is an option to watch an ad for up to 5000 in gold. I did the disservice of watching up to 10 ads to see the average and the most I got was one 600 gold out of 10 ads, it would let me watch any more. I got 2,425 total gold which allowed for a few upgrades (which now cost significantly more and would need double that money to make a dent in a stage) You can also double your battle reward by watching an ad. Take this how you will. A looot of ads to keep caught up with the game. You can’t watch any ads for gems as of release. All in all, this has been an enormous let down. Not just because of the direction this studio went, but the choices made that are ultimately anti fun. Please wait for versions to update the game in a better state and balance than this. There could be mindless fun, but for now, it’s frustrating.

### 2/5 — ?

*2024-07-01*

Does not work.I always get kicked out of the game

### 2/5 — Same as the rest

*2023-11-04*

Just another good game that makes it too hard to upgrade your stuff, constantly watching ads to try double your rewards and once they take them off to it feels like your getting push to buy with real money as the games get too hard to win and are no more available ads to gain rewards

### 3/5 — If they hated on Trench Warfare, they’re capping

*2025-10-20, version 13*

The game was decent. Got boring after the 6th level. Still good tho. Trench Warfare is 5x better tho I’d 100% recommend that game.

### 3/5 — Does not update of often

*2025-01-02, version 13*

I wish it was like the trench warfare games. It is fun, but it takes months to update. I’m still waiting for the dwarfs probably one of my favorite factions. What the heck?

### 3/5 — Just a suggestion

*2024-08-24*

A point system for units that goes up every second or something similar would be nice to see that way you can you massive army’s all at once when you save them like in trailer. Also looking forward to newer factions and difficulty from easy to normal is a big jump.

### 3/5 — Not the best from you guys

*2024-06-03, version 9.0*

I didn’t really like the game but I don’t want to be mean, I mean it was fine but the big turn off for me was all the data collected. Private data like my location and other stuff is weird. Your other games don’t do that.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Где гномы?

*2026-05-20*

Разработчик… разработчииик, ну когда же гномы появятся, а? Разработчик

### 5/5 — Fun and decently challenging

*2025-09-21*

Very fun gameplay loop that can be very hard sometimes, but not to the point of total frustration. A tad pay to win, but more fun if not, ads are always optional and give rewards, and it’s overall a pretty good rts. I cannot wait until the dwarves come out.

### 5/5 — Better than Trench Warfare

*2025-05-13*

This is much better with greater tactical depth and dynamic gameplay than the developer’s other game, Trench Warfare. The control scheme could use some QoL improvements, but this is a solid game. The only reason I’m writing this review is to encourage the developers not to give up on this game.

### 5/5 — An actual challenge

*2025-04-11*

Wow…the game is actually difficult. I love that it’s balanced enough to require some strategy, and the real time tactics force you to make sacrifices for a victory. Victory equals gold, gold equals upgrades, upgrades equal further victories. Simple, and straight to the point. Looking forward to future updates! I won’t throw out random suggestions, but I know there’s so much more potential to be realized and I’m excited!

### 5/5 — Fun but too short

*2024-12-03*

This game was pretty fun but I finished it pretty quick, finished the arena after the race modes and now there’s not much to do.

I wish there was a more arcade type mode separate of creative

### 5/5 — Good game

*2024-11-28, version 13*

Very good game just wish the archers hade one more hit

### 5/5 — UPDATE

*2024-11-20*

Please update I love this game

### 5/5 — By golly I have stuff for you

*2024-02-18*

So yeah the whole other human faction thing that was amazing idea so some factions I want is a viking faction they’ll be in snowy regions and the big unit that takes a while will take 30 seconds and it’ll be a viking ships that releases axe armed Vikings infinite of them and yes there range unit will throw axes the boat will have 35 hit points if you’ll ad that another one will be pirates and they’ll be on the coastal areas or if you can add levels that are on boats there big unit is the captian with a melee and range attack the range is a flintlock and the melee is a saber it’ll take 3 seconds to fire and 2 seconds to hit if you want more factions respond

### 5/5 — Really enjoy the game! Thanks!

*2024-02-10, version 9.0*

Fun gameplay. Like the strategy needed.

### 5/5 — Love it!

*2024-01-06*
