If you're looking for something more challenging, I suggest you check out Bimaru. The boards are up to 10x10 and there are longer ships. There is a bug in the game where if you hit undo too fast and you figure out the solution, the game doesn't know you have the solution. They are working on a fix for this but there is an easy workaround, just reset the level and redo it. Sorry for the delay! ### 5/5 — Volksy *2016-11-27* I love this app. After searching for ages for a simple version of this puzzle (without the fancy graphics, explosions, Ta dahs, etc.) this is it!! If I could suggest one thing I would find helpful - that is, making the unalterable squares stand out a bit - my memory not being quite what it was - would save me having to reset when I forget where they are. Great job! If you bring out a tents and trees puzzle to compliment this one please let me know. I'm addicted to them both. Soduku is an adequate comparison, but think of this app as a compilation of the best puzzles with a similar mechanic. However, there's still room for improvement, improvement that's not coming. However, when I tried to play, all I could create were water blocks and grey blocks. My initial game had a hint of half a cruiser/destroyer (I forget which one took up two blocks). So, I double tapped the black to get the other half. All I got was a cycle of water block, grey block and blanks. So then, I tapped the hint button and it auto filled that very same block with the other half of the ship!!?? Similar attempts to do other blocks gave me the same 3 blocks. This thing needs more testing! ### 2/5 — Game not working *2015-12-28* Great game but beat the seaman level and now can't advance... Glitchy? ### 2/5 — You need to guess eventually *2015-08-02, version 1.0.1* This game does resemble picross, but is a bit harder, because you do eventually need to guess to complete the puzzles. On the first tier just try to get the 3 length ship after removing all obvious blocks with simple logic. But some where around the 2nd tier, you'll need to make a guess. Logic doesn't work as there are two or more possible choices and you'll need to use trial and error to guess the correct answer, so I don't consider this a true logic game. ### 2/5 — Puzzles have non-unique solutions *2015-07-20* Lieutenant level 3 has at least 3 possible solutions (I replayed it and used a different solution the second time; it was still solved. After that the third solution is obvious). I uninstalled it right after that. I'm not looking for guessing games. Going back to true nonogram games. Glad I grabbed this on a day where it was free. ### 2/5 — Good start *2015-07-16, version 1.0.1* The other reviews seem bottled. I found the premise interesting. I got this game because it promised a puzzle game that didn't require guessing, but once you reach halfway through the second tier of levels, it becomes impossible to figure out many puzzles without using the guess and check method. I guess this is a scheme to get you to buy hints. The game isn't that good that I'm willing to spend more money on it out of some sunk cost fallacy. ### 3/5 — Enjoyed the game but needs some improvements *2016-01-08, version 1.0.1* I really liked the idea of the puzzles but after a while it got too easy. Also, there aren't many puzzles so you finish it rather quickly. It's well-thought out, with puzzles whose difficulty is appropriately labeled. Furthermore, there are enough puzzles at each difficulty level that, by the time you've completed one set of puzzles at a given level, you've trained yourself to the next level. But there's definitely room for improvement. The most glaring problem is the fact that, at least as far as I can tell, there are no battleships that span four grid spaces. Furthermore, it would've been nice to have been given a simple explanation of the controls without going through an entire tutorial. Both of these items are fixable in the execution of the game. In the end, I feel that the developers of this game would be well-served to take a look at the gameplay of any of the eight logic puzzle games created by Conceptis, Ltd., for what should be relatively minor improvements to the app, which would make a major impact on its quality. ### 4/5 — Are you keeping this up to date? *2024-06-26* No updates for years… ### 4/5 — Great simply thinking game *2023-07-15* Game is fantastic. I used a couple hints just because I was too lazy to work through all the permutations on certain levels. Instead of tapping undo a dozen times for each guess, it might be cool to just tag the board just before the guessing begins and then have a single “undo everything back to the tag” button. All in all, a really fun game that took about 4 hours to finish. ### 5/5 — A fantastic way to escape daily grind. *2018-01-08, version 1.0.1* I have enjoyed playing this game every evening before bed. There are no timers, no in-app purchase, and most of all no annoying ads. This is just a very fun sudoku-style logic game with enough variation that once the entire game is completed at every level of advancement, you can start over or just select a random level. I look forward to other projects from this developer. After you finish, you can start it all over again or play your favorite set over. I've had a lot of fun with it.
