It notifies you when you lose Bluetooth connection with your phone. While there are a few initial teething problems, once you get the hang of it, it works well. Even with reduced location accuracy, it functions effectively without significantly draining battery life. The main drawback is that it prevents sleep mode if left on overnight; if sleep mode is important to you, you'll need to manually turn the app off at night and back on in the morning. ### 5/5 — Nice app *2023-12-12* Good application, small battery usage. Getting that done after rebooting your watch is not a smooth process. I have found that clicking the flat watch button will let you know if it’s tracking your phone. If it does not show up, it’s not connected. It provides excellent notifications, sound, visual and haptic, on your Apple Watch when you move too far away from your iPhone. If you accidentally leave your iPhone at a restaurant, at work or at home, etc., the app provides the notifications before you leave the area. The app also has several nice watch complications that show the battery level of the iPhone. The app will also notify you when your iPhone battery is low! The developer is very responsive and will answer your questions or help you with issues very promptly, as he did for me. I am always leaving my iPhone in the restrooms like at work , Walmart or restaurants . Sometimes I am in a store and I put my iPhone down on a shelf to pick up an item to look at , then I walk away, then most of the time I’m already in my car and I reach for my iPhone and it is not there. Thats when I start to frick out , running back in store and trying to remember where I last seen it or left it . This app dings me multiple times alerting me that my iPhone is not with me . For those of you who are like me and don’t want to loose your phone , I recommend this Watch4myPhone app , it only cost me $1.99 , that’s a lot cheaper then loosing my iPhone and fricking out . **Developer response:** To avoid too many false alerts, the default Lost Alert Check Frequency is: Num of tries = 2 and Time between tries (s) = 10. This means, that the app will check if your phone is reachable every 10 seconds and it will send the lost alert after 2 unsuccessful checks. With these settings the app will alert you in 10 to 20 seconds after you leave your phone behind. If you happen to leave your phone behind frequently, you can change the Lost Alert Check Frequency to: Num of tries = 1 and Time between tries (s) = 5 and you will be alerted 5 seconds after you leave your phone behind. Thank you again for your feedback and for helping me improve the app. ### 2/5 — Too complicated *2023-06-26* I am always leaving my phone behind, either in the car in the dashboard phone caddy, or in the garage or barn because I often take it out of my pocket and put it down when I am crawling around working on a vehicle or moving hay or what not. I got this set up and tested it and it seemed to work, but the next day it stopped working about midday. I am not sure why, but the Debug window said it lost contact with the phone at 11:03. There was no reason to at that point as they were both on me at that time. Plus, I did not get a left behind alarm to say the connection was lost. And then I could not get it to reconnect. The software author responded quickly, but his instructions were pretty overwhelming and were as, if not more, complicated than the initial setup. I switched to Phone Buddy. Easier and more reliable. The only time it notifies me if the phoneIs lost is when I do a hard reboot or turn the phone off, turning off Bluetooth has no effect whatsoever. There are also settings to reduce battery consumption. ### 2/5 — Works.... sporadically *2021-04-05* Had high hopes for this app. Unfortunately it does work, but sporadically. 80% of the time it WILL alert you to leaving your iPhone behind. But let’s be honest. 20% of the time is plenty to leave your phone on a cluttered restaurant table, or at home - only to lose it permanently, or just have the inconvenience of returning home for it. Then there’s it’s main flaw.....IT EATS BATTERY LIFE I can get 2 days out of my iPhone (but usually charge it daily) & easily a full day out of my Apple Watch 6 (charge it last thing at night for 2 hours). With this app running my “dormant” Apple Watch is down to 30% charge, from 100% by the time I get up at 6am. My iPhone that lasts 2 days is down to 40% in 8hours. This app will warn you of various states of your watch & iPhone battery. It’s a good job. You’ll be charging both very, very frequently.... I removed the app from my watch & phone & the battery life of both was immediately restored! The potential is certainly there. But it’s not “real world” usable yet.... **Developer response:** I have good news. I found the problem which in some cases didn't deliver Lost Alert notification. New version 2.6.0 with bug fix is ready for download on App Store. New in version 2.6: - The app now sends Multiple iPhone Lost Alerts until the user either acknowledges the alerts or a user defined maximum number of alerts have occurred (or the Watch reconnects to the iPhone). Instead of Lost Check Frequency settings "Num of tries" and "Time between tries (s)", there are now Lost Alert Frequency settings "Num of alerts" and "Time between alerts (s)" which defines maximum number of alerts and a delay between alerts in seconds. User can acknowledge the alerts by selecting "Mute until Found" on iPhone Lost alert, to not receive further alerts. - Bug Fix: The app didn't sent new iPhone Lost Alerts if the app was not opened after reconnecting to the iPhone. There is also app setting to use less battery. If you change "Location Accuracy" to 1 or 3 kilometres, App will not use GPS for location updates, but it will still refresh location frequent enough and with Wi-Fi enabled, location will be enough accurate in urban areas. On the other hand, If you change default "Location Accuracy" settings from 100 meters to more accurate (for example Best or For navigation) this can result in really high battery consumption. With that said. It’s far superior than the other apps in this category. I hope they’ll continue to work the bugs out. IOS 14.5 is around the corner.
