## What is Watch Bible?

Bible verses on your wrist — no detour through the iPhone.

Watch Bible shows a random verse you can swipe through, and lets you look one up directly: book, chapter, verse. The passage appears in the context of the whole chapter, as running text with superscript verse numbers the way it is set in a printed Bible — and you read on chapter by chapter without going back to the picker.

TWELVE TRANSLATIONS

English
• King James Version
• Berean Standard Bible
• Darby

German
• Elberfelder 1905
• Schlachter 1951
• Luther 1912

Spanish
• Reina-Valera 1909

French
• Louis Segond 1910

Italian
• Riveduta 1927

Portuguese
• Bíblia Livre

Chinese
• 和合本, traditional
• 和合本, simplified

The app itself speaks these languages too, with the book names and abbreviations customary in each, and it follows the language of your watch.

FEATURES
• A random verse from the whole Bible or from 466 key verses
• 26 topics — comfort, hope, forgiveness, discipleship and more
• Look up by book, chapter and verse
• Page on through the chapters, across book boundaries
• The last place you read is remembered and offered on the home screen
• Change translation without losing your place. Where two editions number their verses differently, the app tells you, instead of quietly showing a different passage
• Verse of the day as a complication and in the Smart Stack
• Day and night appearance, optionally switching by time of day
• Three text sizes, scrolling with the Digital Crown

All twelve translations are contained in the app: 66 books, more than 370,000 verses. No server, no account, no iPhone needed — in airplane mode everything works exactly the same. The app collects no data and requests no permissions.

Every Bible text is free to use: public domain or Creative Commons. Full source and licence details are in the app under Settings › Credits.

## Version history (last 2 releases)

### 1.1 — 2026-10-23

• Verse of the Day: tapping the complication now always opens the right verse in the right translation, even when the app is already open.
• Smoother paging: the current chapter stays on screen until the next one has loaded.
• Verse grid: in chapters where a translation leaves out a verse, the gap is now shown and the last verse can be selected.
• Reading view: it now opens at the chosen verse instead of verse 1, and switching translation keeps your place.
• Topics: some verses now sit under a better-fitting topic, and new verses have been added under Blessing and Thanksgiving.

### 1.0 — 2026-08-20
