Just a shame it doesn’t sync between multiple devices. Unfortunate, it was interesting to see how accurate some of my watches were over the years. Very satisfied also of the developer quick response to my questions about atomic time. I’m confident now about the high quality of data, and it’s also really fun to use this application. It’s broken on my iPhone 16 Pro though. Works for a few days before opening it results in a black screen and eventual crash. Only way to fix it is a reinstall and the cycle starts again. Doesn’t happen on my iPad Pro ever. I sync with iCloud so maybe something to do with that. Frustrating though. Update: worked out that if I close the app on iPhone, log a new data point on a timing run on iPad and then open the iPhone app afterwards, it’ll work again. It works flawlessly and provides lots of great data (including graphs). Design wise it’s quite simple but it doesn’t need a fancy UI, it does everything it needs to and does so very smoothly. Crashes on start. Beware. I’ll update the review to 5 stars if they fix it. ### 1/5 — Erratic *2024-11-26* Impossible to consistently click the screen at the right time and get accurate results. I have my watch set to be exactly the same as the clock on the iPhone. The seconds hands are in sync. Sometimes the app says my watch is fast and sometimes it says it’s slow, but this is because of when I’m clicking the screen and is not a measure of the accuracy of my watch. I also wonder if there’s a bug in the way things are calculated. For example after a few days of doing periodic time checks the app says my watch is -1.8 spd. It also says my iPhones clock is .068 seconds slow. However the seconds hand on my watch and the iPhone clocks seconds hands are still 100% synched up. How does -1.8 spd make any sense? It doesn’t. I can’t remember how much I bought this app for or if it was free but it’s being removed from my phone. If I’m ever worried my watch isnt keeping time I’ll buy a timeographer. As it is I know it’s very accurate as it’s keeping the same time as the iPhones clock, down to the second. ### 1/5 — Needs update *2024-06-24, version 1.2.3* Watch tracker app has been good for years until recently. Now it will not load and crashes frequently. I have removed and reinstalled the app twice with the same issue. Please update and repair bugs! Thank you. ### 1/5 — AVOID it’s Not Worth $4.99 *2023-10-12, version 1.2.2* WatchTracker being overpriced is a HUGE understatement. I can do everything this app does by holding up my Sinn 857 UTC VFR next to my iPhone analog clock and recording/writing down the +/- seconds difference. Thats it….. At $5.29 with tax this may be the biggest waste of $ I have ever spent. I have emailed the developer requesting a refund with no response. AVOID ### 1/5 — Inaccurate *2023-03-28, version 1.2.2* The issue with this app is when the watch is running fast it does not allow for and accurate reading if you take a measurement every 4-5 days. When you go to measure the time data point the time on the app has already passed what is on the watch. The algorithm is not advanced enough to do anything but to take measurements every day. ### 1/5 — Glorified spreadsheet *2023-02-28, version 1.2.2* This is a glorified and inconvenient version of a spreadsheet for recording time diffs between your watch and atomic time from a network connection. Je peux faire le calcul moi-même... une belle à arnaque. ## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated) ### 5/5 — Very close to ideal *2026-08-11* I review apps in terms of “would I install it again?” And for this one, that’s a definite “yes”. Been using it for several years, and it makes keeping an eye on real performance variations pretty easy. Having a timegrapher isn’t a substitute because of the stored history and stats display options. If asked to criticise it id suggest that its a minor gripe to have no permanent display of exact present time without digging back to bootup menu. Minor? Yes. Gripe? Yep. Were this my work (I wish!!) I’d have a time reference on all screens. Why’s it so buried? Goodness knows. Fix that, for me Id consider this to be close to ideal as a tool dedicated to keeping a weather eye on watch health. But. It does encourage you to fixate on minor fluctuations that - in a “real world universe” without digitime exactness so universal we would set our watch, put it on, and essentially forget about checks until you noted it’d drifted a touch too far from that real time reference - so you’d correct that and get on with actual LIFE instead of this silly fixating on seconds-errors being seen as excessive. ### 5/5 — A Hidden Gem for Watch Enthusiasts ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ *2026-08-06* I’ve been using Watch Tracker for several years, and it’s still my go-to app for monitoring the accuracy of my mechanical watches. It’s one of those rare apps that focuses on doing one thing exceptionally well. The interface is clean, intuitive, and free of unnecessary clutter. Tracking multiple watches, viewing long-term accuracy trends, analyzing rate and variance graphs, and exporting data when needed are all thoughtfully implemented. The atomic clock synchronization and best-fit analysis make it incredibly useful for anyone who enjoys understanding how their watches perform over time. (App Store⁠) My only minor issue is the camera feature for taking watch photos. The alignment can be a bit inconsistent, so it would be nice to see that polished in a future update. I’d love to see an optional way to support the development, whether through donations or a tip feature. I’d be happy to contribute to help support its continued development. Highly recommended to any mechanical watch enthusiast. I use the data points to as it tells you if your watch is running fast or slow and it it super easy to use all the functions too. The last review I wrote—also many years ago—no longer appears on the review list. I actually love this app so much that I’m writing another review to compliment the developer and to explain why some reviewers, although in small numbers, may have found the app inaccurate or hard to use. This app is not a timegrapher that gives instant readings on your watch’s rate. Instead, it collects data points by having you match your watch’s time to the app’s time (or atomic time). Using at least two reference points, the app then calculates, graphs, and tracks your watch’s rate. You can start a new time run anytime you adjust your watch, and you can also track multiple watches with the app. The only real requirement for accuracy is having quick reflexes—because you need to tap the screen when your watch shows the exact time displayed on the app. If you can’t tap within about 0.2 to 0.5 seconds of the shown time, the results might not be as accurate or meaningful. Whether you’re a casual collector or a serious watch enthusiast, this app is a must-have if you care about tracking your watch’s accuracy over time. It can even track high precision Quartz watches in the seconds per year range, albeit you have to send the author a short note and ask for individual activation. This feature really should be integrated in the standard festure set.
