## What is WatchCircle?

WatchCircle is a private diary for what you've watched — movies, shows, documentaries, flight catches, the lot. Add titles with the date, where you watched (Netflix, cinema, Apple TV, flight, etc.), and a simple opinion: Recommended, Time-Pass, or Waste of Time. 
  
  Your list lives in your private iCloud — no servers, no analytics, no advertising. Apple's CloudKit handles sync between your own devices.
  
  Invite a friend with their Apple ID and you'll see each other's watched lists and ratings. It's the friend-recommendation question — "is this actually worth my time?" — without the noise of stars and reviews.

  • Hybrid title search (iTunes + TMDb) finds posters and metadata for both mainstream films and streaming-exclusive TV
  • Watchlist for things you mean to get to
  • Custom poster upload for titles the search can't find

### 1.1 — 2026-08-05

WatchCircle is now a native iPad app. Browse your watched list, watchlist, and friends' lists side-by-side with a full detail view — poster, cast, and story — on the big screen. On iPhone, everything works exactly as before.

### 1.0.5 — 2026-08-01

Adds a "Start fresh" option in Settings that fully resets friend sharing. Use it if a friend gets stuck showing as  "Friend," can't be removed, or your shared lists don't match — then both of you re-invite to reconnect cleanly. Your own Watched and Watchlist are never affected.

### 1.0.4 — 2026-07-20

Fixes a friend that could get stuck showing as "Friend" and couldn't be removed. You can now clear it from the friend
  group's menu, or via Settings → Repair sharing data.

### 1.0.3 — 2026-07-13

Fixed an issue where a friend could appear as "Friend" instead of their name after reconnecting. Names now show reliably.

### 1.0.2 — 2026-07-06

• Add your name before sharing, so friends always see who shared a list.
  • Fixed a friend sometimes appearing as "Friend" with no way to remove them.
  • New "Repair sharing data" option in Settings to clear rare sharing glitches.
