## What is Watchd?

You know that thing where you open a show, and you genuinely can't remember if you saw the last episode or not? Watchd fixes that. Mark episodes as you watch, and it just remembers. Every show, every film, no guessing.

No account to make. No ads. Nothing leaves your phone. Your watchlist is yours, sitting on your device, not on some company's server.

Here's what it does:
- Keep films and shows in four simple buckets: Watching, Watchlist, Watched, Dropped
- Make your own collections by theme: "Best thrillers", "Cozy evening", anything you like
- Tick off episodes so you always land on the right one next time
- Get a nudge when a new episode drops
- Ask Siri what's out today or what's next, or mark an episode, without opening the app
- Keep the next episode on your Home Screen and Lock Screen with the Up Next widget
- Stuck on what to watch? Discover shows you what's trending and new
- Rate stuff, keep your own scores
- See your numbers: hours sunk, top actors and directors, the whole tally
- Make a nice-looking card of what you've watched and share it

That's it. Open it, start tracking, done. It's free.

That's the whole app. Private, quick, and it doesn't want your email.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.4 — 2026-10-26

What's new in 1.4:
• Watchd for iPhone Duo. Closed, it keeps the familiar layout with the tab bar on the side. Open, grids fit more posters per row, and show pages, Home, Profile and cast pages spread across both halves of the screen. Fold or unfold at any time: the open screen, sheet and scroll position stay right where they were.
• Season checkmarks now mark only episodes that have already aired, and removing a title from your library asks first.
• Movies added from a CSV import or a backup now get their runtime, so your watch time in Profile adds up.
• Light mode has better contrast, and long titles keep their full text size instead of shrinking.

### 1.3 — 2026-10-18

What's new in 1.3:
- A fresh look. Dark mode gets a deep black background and softly lit cards, and the whole app has larger text and new, cleaner icons.
- Home now comes in sections: Now watching shows how many episodes are waiting and a progress bar for every show, and Coming soon lists the next episodes and opens the Full calendar.
- Profile shows your watch time and your hours per week over the last two months.

### 1.2.1 — 2026-10-14

What's new in 1.2.1:
- Fixed a crash when opening Siri & Widgets in Profile.

What's new in 1.2:
- Siri knows Watchd now. Ask "What's on today in Watchd", "What's next in Watchd" or "My week in Watchd", or mark an episode and add a movie to your Watchlist, all without opening the app.
- New Up Next widget for your Home Screen and Lock Screen: the next episode of every show you're watching.
- On a show's page, ask Siri "What's next in this show?" (with Apple Intelligence).
- The icon now looks right on dark and tinted Home Screens.
- Episodes show their real names instead of codes like S01E04.
- Fixes: moving a show to Watchlist no longer clears your marked episodes, backups keep the progress of shows outside your library, and Trending Now cards no longer overlap.
