### 1/5 — No longer works for older models s and x

*2026-01-08, version 4.4.1*

Bought this to be used with my 2017 MX. Recent update made it no longer usable for these older models. Greatly disappointed.

### 1/5 — Reducing legacy car use

*2025-12-15, version 4.4.1*

Not fun.

### 1/5 — Bluetooth isn’t the way

*2025-12-14, version 4.4.1*

If the ability to preheat my Tesla requires me to go outside in 18F weather to stand next to my car… the value just isn’t there.

### 1/5 — Nicht mehr nutzbar

*2025-11-29, version 4.4.1*

*2025-10-09, version 4.4.1*

스토어에서 예전에 구매했는데 사용하려하니 요금이 생겼네요. 예전 구매자는 어떻게 되나요??

### 1/5 — Slow app

*2025-09-23, version 4.4.1*

Slow responses when press command bottom, take 5-10 seconds to respond from the car most of time is not even working.

### 1/5 — Not good

*2025-08-28, version 4.4.1*

Bug不修正，車子常常與Apple watch 連結不到。

### 2/5 — This is a $1.99 One Time Purchase App

*2025-08-20, version 4.4.1*

This is insane that developer is trying to grab $1.99 per month for a Bluetooth only app. This app should be between $.99 and $1.99 for a flat out purchase. There is absolutely no reason whatsoever to try and grab a monthly subscription price. Shame on you for even attempting this to unsuspecting consumers that don’t know any better.

### 1/5 — What have they done ??!!??

*2025-07-14, version 4.4.1*

I really liked the Watchla app for a full year. But now they've tinkered with it for apparently financial reasons and I can't get the app to work for the life of me! I contacted the company twice and haven't heard back a thing. Really disappointed.

### 1/5 — App no longer works for model S 2020

*2025-06-28, version 4.4.1*

I had enjoyed and used the app often until recently when the developer did an update to it. Now it no longer works on my Model S 2020.

### 1/5 — Only Bluetooth

*2025-06-22, version 4.4.1*

Ganz toll erst hat es wunderbar funktioniert und nun wird es umgestellt danke dafür!

### 2/5 — Nice, when it works…

*2025-06-16, version 4.4.1*

Every time they update the app, it breaks its ability to connect to my Model Y.

### 1/5 — Legacy Teslas

*2025-06-04, version 4.4*

Is it true that this app turned into a useless app if I have a 2017 legacy Model X with no key card and no Bluetooth controlling functions?

### 1/5 — Don’t buy it

*2025-06-03, version 4.4*

This developer didn’t honor the promise of legacy users having access to the app without subscription. Don’t waste your time and money on this type of dishonest developers

### 1/5 — Downhill

*2025-05-31, version 4.4*

I got this app as I had locked myself out of my new Tesla. Found this app and it saved me so much. At the time I bought it for a lifetime price. But that doesn’t mean anything to them for the legacy users. But now that they have made these changes, it has gone downhill. I cannot get it to work at all thru the Bluetooth. I will not be following this app any longer.

### 1/5 — Watchla app

*2025-05-24, version 4.4*

Won’t connect to my car. Won’t reset the watch app

### 1/5 — Most useless app I’ve ever purchased

*2025-05-20, version 4.4*

I bought this app a while ago for my Tesla Model S (legacy) thinking it would have a Siri shortcut for remote start. When I saw it didn’t I sent several emails to the developer requesting the feature but never got a response. The app was consistently super laggy too sometimes taking several minutes to deliver a command to the vehicle. To top it all off the app completely booted my car off of the app and I cannot add it back anymore. The customer service of the developer makes that of Tesla service centers look world class 🙃

### 2/5 — Rarely worked like it was supposed to

*2025-05-18, version 4.4*

Bought this so I could surf with my watch and not carry a key. Never worked well enough for me to actually depend on it. Constant performance issues on my Ultra. Was very slow before, but now is basically unusable after the transition to the new API. Now they announce they’re basically cutting all the functionality I originally purchased the app for? Disappointing…

### 2/5 — No Communication

*2025-05-18, version 4.4*

Setup a new watch, app not working, start googling. Apparently subscription based now even though I had a lifetime subscription. No comms from devs. Uninstalled

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Won’t install on my Apple Watch

*2026-08-17, version 4.4.1*

Never finish installing

### 1/5 — doesnt connect

*2026-04-13, version 4.4.1*

keeps saying token expired doesnt connect to my watch

### 1/5 — Sucks

*2026-04-04, version 4.4.1*

Used to be good when it was WiFi controlled. Now just sucks it hardly works

### 1/5 — how can i request refund?

*2026-04-01, version 4.4.1*

it informed me that only bluetooth mode is available with this application. it was not supported as first time with API.

### 1/5 — Does not work with early S/X models

*2026-03-31, version 4.4.1*

App is clunky. Once you go into the units setup page, there is no way to go back. Also it appears that the app doesn’t work for early model X, I have a 2016 MDX and no dice.

### 1/5 — Can’t get it to work

*2026-03-23, version 4.4.1*

Tried everything. Not working.

### 1/5 — USED to be great. NOT the case anymore

*2026-03-16, version 4.4.1*

as I said, this used to be a great App before the price bump and a great cash grab now it’s useless for those cars and Bluetooth connection straight up garbage do not recommend one star.

### 1/5 — Didn’t work

*2026-03-11, version 4.4.1*

Tried the Watchla app for Tesla during the 3-day free trial and unfortunately it never worked properly. I could get it to link initially, but it would not unlock doors, act as a key, or control anything on the car. The gesture feature that is supposed to open the trunk by raising your hand definitely didn’t work either. I literally stood there outside my car raising my hand like an idiot hoping the trunk would open. I tried everything I could think of and nothing fixed it. Thankfully it was just the free trial.

### 1/5 — can’t set it up

*2026-03-09, version 4.4.1*

too many steps, not automatic, failed to pair with bluetooth

### 1/5 — Not computable with model S

*2026-02-18, version 4.4.1*

I have tried multiple times to set up this app to no avail then I realized the instructions are only for models 3 and Y

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Support for RH Drive doors

*2025-05-25, version 4.4*

Great app. Little bug. The open doors option doesn’t realise my car is right hand drive. So tapping the RH front door opens the left. Only an issue on screen that shows all 4 doors.

### 5/5 — Great app

*2025-04-23, version 4.3.2*

Thank you for making. Home run!!

### 5/5 — New Update is now subscription based moving forward

*2025-02-17, version 4.3.1*

Great app to use so far, but I hope switching to subscription based doesn’t bite this one in the butt. Tesla is updating their app again and adding more stuff too, so that may hurt this one in time, but for now, works well.

### 5/5 — Saved me twice!

*2025-02-02, version 4.2*

Twice it happened to me that my phone died and I couldn’t get into my car. One time was about a year ago and I was able to use Watchla to unlock my car and the other time was a few weeks ago. My phone had died and I thought I was was going to finally use Tesla’s new watch app but it wouldn’t work! Thankfully I still had the Watchla app and was able to unlock my doors!

### 5/5 — AMAZING!!!

*2024-12-25, version 4.1.1*

Thank You … once again … Tesla reigns supreme as the smartest car in the world.

### 5/5 — Excellent

*2024-12-16, version 4.1.1*

Well worth the price it fully works

### 5/5 — Better Than Tesla Native App

*2024-12-11, version 4.0*

I’ve been using the Watchla app for several months and it works great. I use voice commands to my Apple Watch to open the trunk and frunk and turn on the climate system. I’ve added the range as a complication on my watch so I can see it at any time. Tesla’s new watch support is not nearly as good as this app.

### 5/5 — No issues

*2024-11-25, version 3.9.4*

I was a bit worried buying this given all the negative reviews but everything worked as expected. Can now unlock my car with my watch using Bluetooth which is a great backup if something happens to my phone.

### 5/5 — Works perfectly

*2024-11-07, version 3.9.2*

This app has come leaps and bounds since infancy . There was time I hated this app and deleted it 😂. But the current version of the app is much more faster and accurate

### 5/5 — Apple watch as tesla key

*2024-11-07, version 3.9.1*

Loving the app loads of features and the watch key feature let's you carry nothing but your apple watch and use your car. The watch app uses Bluetooth so even if you and your car are in dead zones the key still works.
