## What is Water Tracker WaterDrop?

Log a glass of water in one tap. Set a daily goal in ounces or milliliters. Get a reminder when it has been a while, and none at all once you hit your goal.

That is the whole app. No account, no sign-up, no setup wizard.

YOUR OWN CUPS, ONE TAP TO LOG
Set up the glass, bottle or mug you actually drink from: a name, a size, a mark, and what is usually in it. It sits on the home screen and one tap logs it. Make as many as you like, in the order you want. They show up on your widget, and in Siri and Shortcuts. Or just type any amount.

OUNCES OR MILLILITERS, PROPERLY
Pick your units once and the whole app follows: your goal, your total, your cups, your history, your reminders and your widgets. US and UK fluid ounces are both here, and they are not the same size, so a British reader is not quietly shown American numbers.

LOG FROM WHEREVER YOU ARE
A Home Screen widget with buttons on it. A Lock Screen and Control Center control. An Apple Watch app with a goal ring and a watch face complication. Ask Siri, or use a Shortcut. All free.

REMINDERS THAT PAY ATTENTION
Choose your waking hours and how often you want a nudge, with a separate weekend schedule and quiet hours. Log a drink and the timer resets, so you are never pinged a minute after you already drank. Reach your goal and reminders stop for the day. No guilt, no streak threats, never a marketing notification.

A DROP THAT ACTUALLY FILLS
The droplet on the home screen holds your day. It rises as you log, ripples when you add, and celebrates when you reach your goal, with a small haptic tap on every entry.

NOT JUST WATER
Coffee, tea, juice, milk, soda and yes, alcohol. Each counts toward your goal at its own rate, and your history still shows what you actually drank. Every drink type is free.

APPLE HEALTH
Turn it on and each drink is saved to Apple Health, and water logged in another app is counted here too, once, with a badge showing where it came from. Off by default, and the app works fully without it.

STREAKS, IF YOU WANT THEM
Every day you reach your goal adds to your streak, and your current and best streaks both sit on the home screen. A missed day is forgiven rather than counted, your best is never taken away, and one switch turns the whole thing off.

YOUR HISTORY, AND YOU CAN EDIT IT
Daily, weekly and monthly views going back well over a year. Fix a wrong amount, correct a time, add a drink you forgot, or delete one, on any day. Undo is one tap and works on anything logged anywhere. None of it is behind a paywall.

A GOAL THAT FITS YOU
Set a target anywhere from 1 L to 4 L, or 34 oz to 135 oz. Not sure where to start? Enter your weight in kg or lb and WaterDrop suggests a starting point you can change any time. If your day does not start at midnight, move the rollover to any hour up to 11 and every total, streak and chart follows.

FREE, AND STAYING THAT WAY
Logging, your own cups, reminders, streaks, your full history, editing or deleting any entry, widgets, the Watch app and Apple Health are free, and they are staying free. No ads, ever. Your entries live on your device, and the only place they are ever copied to is Apple Health, which is your own private store and only if you switch it on.

WATERDROP PREMIUM, IF YOU WANT IT
An optional subscription adds four alternate app icons, a monthly recap comparing this month with the last, and an export of your whole history as a CSV file. Nothing above this paragraph is behind it, and nothing above it ever will be. $2.99 a month or $19.99 a year, with 14 days free on the yearly plan.

NOT MEDICAL ADVICE
WaterDrop is a habit tracker, not a health product. It does not diagnose, treat or monitor any condition, and any goal it suggests is a rough starting point, not a personal recommendation. How much you should drink depends on your body, your medication, your activity and your climate. Ask a doctor, not an app.

### 2/5 — Metric Only

*2026-04-10*

The app is nice and clean but metric only. It lets you pick ounces in the settings but all entries remain in metric so I’m not sure what the setting actually does. This makes it a fail for me.

## Version history (last 2 releases)

### 1.1 — 2026-08-14

This update fixes the things that were actually broken, and adds the things people kept asking for.

OUNCES NOW WORK
If you had the app set to imperial, it was lying to you. Your goal, your daily total, your history and the quick-add buttons all stayed in milliliters no matter what the setting said, and typing "16" into the custom amount box logged 16 ml instead of 16 oz. All of that now follows your unit setting. You also get proper 8, 12 and 16 oz quick-add buttons instead of odd converted numbers like 8.5 and 11.8, and the goal slider now moves a whole ounce at a time so you can actually land on 80.

REMINDERS TURN OFF WHEN YOU TURN THEM OFF
Switching reminders off left some of them still scheduled, so they kept arriving anyway. Every pending reminder now gets cleared properly.

REMINDERS START WHEN YOU SET THEM TO
If you set your first reminder for 8:00 it arrived at 9:00. It now arrives at 8:00. They also reset when you log a drink and stop for the day once you hit your goal, and there are quiet hours and a separate weekend schedule.

THE DROP FILLS UP NOW
The droplet on the home screen was a static shape. It now holds your day, rises as you log, and celebrates when you reach your goal.

LIGHT MODE
The app was dark only. It now follows your system setting, or you can pin it to light or dark.

LOG WITHOUT OPENING THE APP
A Home Screen widget with buttons on it, a Control Center control, an Apple Watch app with a goal ring, a watch face complication, and Siri and Shortcuts support. All free.

MORE THAN WATER
Coffee, tea, juice, milk, soda and alcohol, each counting toward your goal at its own rate.

A GOAL, WITHOUT THE GUESSWORK
Not sure what to set? Enter your weight in kg or lb and WaterDrop suggests a starting point. It is a rough rule of thumb, not medical advice, and you can move it any time.

BOTH STREAKS ON THE HOME SCREEN
Your current streak and your best streak now sit next to today's numbers. A missed day is forgiven rather than counted, and your best is never taken away.

APPLE HEALTH
Optional, off by default. Your drinks go into Health, and water you logged in another app is counted here once, with a badge.

YOUR HISTORY, AND YOU CAN FIX IT
Daily, weekly and monthly views instead of seven days. Edit any entry, add a drink you forgot yesterday, delete one, or undo the last one from anywhere. If your day does not start at midnight, move the rollover.

YOUR OWN CUPS
The three fixed buttons are gone. Set up the glass, bottle or mug you actually drink from, name it, pick a mark, say what is usually in it, and put them in the order you want. One tap logs the size and the drink together. They show up on the widget, and in Siri and Shortcuts. Free, like the rest of the logging.

UK OUNCES
If you are in the UK, "oz" meant the American ounce, which is 4 percent bigger than yours. There are now two separate options, US and UK, and picking UK changes your goal, your totals, your cups and your history to real imperial ounces. If you were already on ounces nothing moves until you choose.

Thanks for the patience. If the units bug is what made you rate this app, it is fixed, and if anything else is off I would rather hear about it than not.
