### 2/5 — If you have an eating disorder, don’t download this app!

*2026-08-25, version 1.93.0*

And I would also suggest that you read this even if you don’t have an eating disorder, before you decide whether or not you want to proceed with this. So, before I even start on my own issues with this app, let me explain why I raised the topic of eating disorders.

I noticed a reviewer who had an eating disorder, who pointed out that some drinks are described as ‘evil’ in the app. This wasn’t the first complaint about that word. I’m beyond furious with the second half of the response by the team:
“We're sorry if [IF? That’s no way to start an apology! It should say ‘that it made’. ‘If’ implies that you don’t believe the reviewer!]… the labeling made you feel uncomfortable [UNCOMFORTABLE! Does the writer know anything at all about eating disorders?! It didn’t just make the reviewer uncomfortable, like they bought the wrong armchair. It set their recovery back considerably! They were very brave to raise this with the app owners, and even were kind enough to say lovely things about the app first!]—it's never our intention to set anyone back. We're all about promoting hydration and a balanced lifestyle [And clearly not all about how you affect people’s mental health]. Remember, the term "evil" is just a nudge to encourage healthier choices for overall well-being, the weight loss actually plays the least role in that. It's essential to focus on what makes you feel good, both physically and mentally.
Feel free to do your own choices, and don't hesitate to consult with your doctor about what works best for you! Keep staying hydrated and enjoying those adorable characters! 😊”
So that’s ok then. No genuine apology. Just, lighten up a bit about the word evil. You, the reviewer, are the one who should change your attitude. THAT IS NOT ACCEPTABLE WHEN TALKING TO SOMEONE WITH AN EATING DISORDER! The reviewer should have received a full apology for the harm caused, and the word should have been removed straight away. Also, whilst weight loss comments might be useful for many people, your attitude, app owners, should be along the lines of, ‘If you are overweight you might like to consider these facts’, not making too big a deal of it. And advising someone under these circumstances not to ‘hesitate to consult with your doctor about what works best with you’ is so insensitive and, again, shows ignorance when it comes to eating disorders. This app is designed to appeal to young people, so weight loss should be a topic mentioned with care and thought. If you think you handled it with care and thought, then you need to handle it with a lot more care and thought, consulting a specialist or doing A LOT of research. And the comments are utterly patronising.
Had I seen this horrific reply before I bought the app, not only would I have not downloaded it, but I would have gone to Trust Pilot to see if I could leave a low rating there. I’ll still do that.
Now my own review:
Positives -
~It seemed to be the cheapest way to get the full use of the app, to pay the ‘for life’ premium, as it was ‘on offer’, but I still didn’t want to pay that much. As I backed away, they reduced the offer price by half, which seemed reasonable, if it worked. £8.99 (August 2026)
~There is a huge amount of information in the app, about drinking, not drinking enough, dehydration, the value of different kinds of drinks etc. I didn’t know, for example, that skimmed milk is more hydrating than water (the app added more ‘water’ to the daily count to allow for this, but I have no way to check if this adding to the total makes sense or is scientifically correct). It would take a long time to research for all the information that the app provides online, and most of us wouldn’t bother.
Negatives -
What a shambles! There is no clear help section, guiding people through all the different options. I was encouraged to enter my first drink, then given a choice for the size of the drink. It was 300ml, but I couldn’t enter that. I entered a false amount, and only then was I shown options to alter the amounts. I had skimmed milk, which I suspected would make a difference (I assumed it would be less hydrating) but I couldn’t enter that. Only later did skimmed milk make an appearance on the app. And so it went on. You can name drinks, but I can’t be sure that it always recognises them. After using the app for a few days, more details became available. It was irritating, but, having paid for it, I probably wouldn’t have persevered. Had there been an opportunity to try the app free for a fortnight, I would have given up and tried something else.
As it is, I’m not happy using this app having seen such lack of disrespect and care when the owners have replied so badly to the review I have talked about here. So, even though I paid for it, I will be deleting it.

### 4/5 — Nice Water Reminder App

*2026-08-24, version 1.93.0*

I really like the adorable animals in the app and the convenience of the gentle reminders with health facts. I do wish certain features were free like adding juice/coffee. There is a little work around with calculating the water percentages for other drinks but it’d be more convenient to just use the juice/coffee features.

### 5/5 — So cute

*2026-08-23, version 1.93.0*

Easy to use and fun

### 5/5 — Amazing

*2026-08-23, version 1.93.0*

this app helped me so much with my water intake i beleive everyone should give it a try

### 5/5 — Such a W app 🥹

*2026-08-23, version 1.93.0*

This app is the best water tracker app ever! I tried other ones and they weren’t as fun as this one! Totally recommend!

### 2/5 — Pay to get access?

*2026-08-22, version 1.93.0*

I felt like I got more reminders to buy pro than water reminders. Like, I get you need money I suppose, but it just felt repetitive with the “83% off!” Than with drinking water or other things. Hope if you want this, you can either look past the constant pay reminders or just pay the fee!

### 3/5 — It’s ok

*2026-08-22, version 1.93.0*

Only really works if you pay for a subscription, but without a subscription, I would read it about a six out of 10.

### 5/5 — Helpful

*2026-08-22, version 1.93.0*

I love this app because it motivates me to hydrate more. I use it just for water and I love that it shows me a recommended amount to drink and sends me reminders to meet that goal.

### 5/5 — Water water everywhere, but not a drop to drink!

*2026-08-22, version 1.93.0*

I have water in the fridge in the house, water in the fridge outside. And yet I find it very hard to drink. This app has been so much fun and really inspiring me to drink my water.

### 4/5 — Fun

*2026-08-22, version 1.93.0*

It’s a fun water tracking app good for kids or generally for people who enjoy fun illustrations and reminders whilst remembering to stay hydrated :)

### 2/5 — Review

*2026-08-22, version 1.93.0*

I just wanted to track what I drunk but not pay this is terrible why can’t I track all drinks without paying I shouldn’t have to

### 5/5 — Amazing!

*2026-08-21, version 1.93.0*

I’ve always had a problem with drinking water but this has helped me become healthier! It’s a very cute fun app that gives you reminders and is not hard to set up??

### 5/5 — Waterllama is fun

*2026-08-21, version 1.93.0*

Waterllama is fun

### 2/5 — Steer Clear If You Want Actual Liquid Tracking

*2026-08-21, version 1.93.0*

I think in practice this app is great, but that’s about it. They lock literally EVERY liquid but water behind a subscription, not too helpful if you’re actually trying to see if it’s viable for you. Theres much better apps with freedom that provide you more info than “you hydrated today” or “here’s this goal that doesn’t matter for anything”. Like I said, great in practice but a very flawed execution.

### 5/5 — AMAZING

*2026-08-21, version 1.93.0*

you guys are the best The challenges are cool too, but thank you so much for getting this on my FYP in the App Store.

### 5/5 — Пушка приложения

*2026-08-21, version 1.93.0*

Приложение бомба

### 5/5 — GREAT

*2026-08-21, version 1.93.0*

It overall even in one day made my water intake better, my competitiveness made me want to finish the challenge, I have had trouble in the past with drinking enough water, but this helped me

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Advertising all the time!

*2026-08-25, version 1.93.0*

A lot of pop-up messages AL the time. Definitely not the app for those who wants to simply remember of drinking water

### 1/5 — Useless

*2026-08-24, version 1.93.0*

Just a tracker, not a reminder

### 1/5 — Premium Subscription Required?

*2026-08-20, version 1.93.0*

TLDR: You have to pay the upgrade to delete water. I think that’s stupid!
I think it is beyond ridiculous that in order to fix mistakes you have to have the paid plan. I am far too haphazard and easily make mistakes when imputing measures especially when the app is not intuitively designed for editing things such as smaller water vessels. The need for a paid subscription to delete accidental entries is almost enough to make me delete the app. Because I see the data is incorrect and and feel the need to accurately reflect but the accurate reflection is hard to obtain due to needing to drink more water to match what the app says but unable to accurately measure as I do not have access to the vessel needed for equal measurement to rectify the difference so I am likely to just say forget it and delete the app.

### 1/5 — Glitch

*2026-08-20, version 1.93.0*

glitchy black screen when I log drinks

### 1/5 — Really nice but pay to win…

*2026-08-17, version 1.93.0*

I thought this was a good investment so I bought it at 78% off but it didn’t give me lifetime… didn’t charge my card either so i think it was bugged

### 1/5 — I need help

*2026-08-15, version 1.93.0*

It's says 3 days for free but still asking me to pay and put in my touch I'd 😢😭

### 1/5 — Attention is scarce

*2026-08-14, version 1.93.0*

I don’t give notifications rights to many apps, otherwise you get interrupted all day.

During onboarding the app proposed to buy the premium option, I refused. Post onboarding you get a full screen popup asking you to buy the premium option you just rejected … I refused again.
I gave the right to send me notifications to have reminders to drink water (the core value prop of the app, right?).
20 minutes after I received a pop-up notification on my watch to … buy the premium option.

Before the app remind me even a single time to drink (you know … what it’s supposed to do), it already interrupted me 3 times to try to upsell me the premium option.
I’m going to back to simple reminders, at least those don’t overuse my attention

### 1/5 — It’s good

*2026-08-11, version 1.93.0*

This app is ok but…. the payment is the worst part! I’m not paying money to drink water.

### 1/5 — How do I delete this app?

*2026-08-10, version 1.93.0*

Every time I try to uninstall this app it wants to know why I don’t like it. Then it cancels the deletion!

When you hold press on the icon you come to a vendor created menu - not Apple’s standard one.

Hey Apple - how do I delete an app where the vendor won’t let you?

### 1/5 — Scam

*2026-08-10, version 1.93.0*

I literally tried to do a 7 day FREE trial keyword FREE I delete the app the next day because i needed to free up my phone tell me why they have been trying to charge me $20.00 when I literally wanted a free trial absolute nightmare of an app will never recommend it or use it ! I can’t even download any other apps because they keep trying to charge me for something I literally didn’t subscribe to Never again
