It has always been an invaluable, accurate and reliable resource for planning and navigating when underway. Thanks ### 4/5 — Super Applikation *2024-03-02* Ich nutze diese App bereits seit sechs Jahren und bin sehr zufrieden mit den allgemeinen Informationen über die Binnengewässer in NL, wo ich unser Fahrgebiet befindet. Trotzdem gibt es einige Verbesserungsmöglichkeiten und Bugs, die einen fünften Stern rechtfertigen würden. Diese beziehen sich in erster Linie auf die Möglichkeiten der Kartendarstellung (z.B. Satelitenbild, 3D Darstellung für Häfen), sowie auf den Routenplaner, dessen automatische Routenermittlung nicht immer korrekt die Schiffsdaten berücksichtigt. Unbedingt automatisch generierte Routen vor Abfahrt überprüfen. Auch die automatische Anmeldung zur Brückenöffnung wäre super. Leider werden auch nach wie vor teilweise die Städtenamen beim zoomen nicht mehr angezeigt. Auch wäre eine Funktion sehr hilfreich, die das Zahlen des Liegeplatzes, oder zumindest das Scannen des Codes ermöglichen würde (wird ja immer häufiger verlangt). Fraglich ist, ob die Entwicklungsumgebung mit der die App programmiert wurde diese Punkte umsetzen kann. Sie wird ständig aktualisiert und auf dem neuesten Stand gehalten. Da gibt es wirklich nichts zu meckern. Nun hat man aber die Bedienung der App geändert, der Teufel weiß warum. Was früher einfach und unkompliziert ging wird nun zur Geduldsprobe. Während der Törnplanung und dem speichern der Tourdaten fliege ich immer wieder raus, ohne das die Daten gesichert sind. Nach dem x‘ten Mal nervt das ganze schon ganz schön. Da wünsche ich mir einfach mehr Stabilität im System. Es ging durch vorher, warum. nun nicht mehr? Verbesserung auf volle Punktzahl. Habe meine Punkte per Email an die Entwickler gesandt. Es folgte ein ausgiebiger Gedankenaustausch und Kommunikation über meine Probleme. Zug um Zug wurden meine Kritikpunkte beseitigt. Die APP arbeitet wieder so gut wie vorher, daher volle Punktzahl. Und besonders erwähnen möchte ich den positiven Austausch mit den Entwicklern. Schließlich tun wir es für Menschen wie Sie. ### 4/5 — Sehr gute Boots-Navi-App, sehr praxisbezogen entwickelt *2023-07-02* Ich nutze seit Jahren schon Bootsnavigation, von der guten alten Karte angefangen, über einige andere Software/ App‘s, aber hier merkt man, das Capitäne für Capitäne programmieren/ die App erstellen. Es sind zwar hier und da noch ein paar Kleinigkeiten (wenn ich anmerken darf: Verbindung mit dem vorhandenen GNS 3000 erfolgt nicht automatisch, muss händisch erfolgen - aber wie gesagt, das sind marginale Sachen). Weiter so, ich freue mich auf jedes Update, denn ich weiß da kommen gute, ja sehr gute Neuigkeiten. ### 5/5 — Essential App for all North European Waterways Cruising *2022-02-26* This is a superb app with everything one could want for safe and enjoyable cruising in The Netherlands, Belgium, Germany and the UK and much of France. Very affordable and really shows off the benefit of technology on the waterways with features like AIS, GPS and route planning. Plus all the details on locks and bridges are instantly available and kept up to date. If this lock and bridge information was available to cut and paste into a translator app then that would really help non Dutch speaking sailors. **Developer response:** We're looking into your suggestion to be able to cut & paste Dutch texts, but we're also going to improve translations in the app. Thanks for this very honest review. ### 5/5 — Immer Besser! *2021-09-04* Nutze die App seit Jahren, sie lief damals noch unter der Regie des ANWB und hat sich kontinuierlich immer weiter verbessert. Für meine Anwendung in Friesland/NL und Ijsselmeer ist sie einfach PERFEKT. Intuitiv bedienbar und und mein ständiger Begleiter. Der Zugriff auf wichtige Infos ist jederzeit möglich und schnell zur Verfügung. It wasn’t. Tracked across a few waterways in North Yorkshire and the lack of any useful information was startling. Many locks and bridges weren’t named, none had any details at all regarding max boat dimensions or air draft and I don’t recall seeing a single mooring point location. The ads in the App Store look very enticing and I was prepared to pay once the trial worked for me. Unfortunately it did not. The map was very stoggy, moved jerky at best, and only moved back and forth. Vertically extremely limited. My starting locations were not in the database it seems as there was no response. Dutch language is not a problem since I lived in Drenthe 15 years. Perhaps it works well for the Netherlands, but my sailing area is canals in the south of France and the app was totally unresponsive when trying to get to that area. Looks like it’s back to the French waterways booklets for me. Schade, ist leider so. I probably will delete the app later unless it’s got scheduled updates for more of Europe in the works. **Developer response:** Hi Oren, South of France is not covered by our app yet. The stoggy map will improve when you download the maps. Used to love planning as well as navigating with this but I’ll be digging out my paper maps. Route planning is a joke as it takes you out to something like 6 NM out from the coast line, only to take you back to destination at the coast, adding like double the time and distance. Sie ist ihr Geld wert! Viele nützliche Infos zu Schleusen, Hebebrücken und Marinas inkl. aktuellen Telefonnummern. Wichtigste Funktion ist der Routenplaner um die Fahrtstrecke und Dauer zu planen. Viele andere Apps ausprobiert da ich über ein iPad navigiere aber diese ist echt spitze. Klasse Routenplanung mit Zwischenstopps (alle aus der Karte auswählbar), allen Infos zu Brücken, Hebebrücken, Schleusen, usw mit Kontaktdaten und ein sehr gutes Verzeichnis der Liegeplätze und Yachthäfen. Es fehlen zwar ab und an mal Passantenanleger oder Marrekrite Liegeplätze aber das ist zu verschmerzen. Insgesamt eine geniale App mit Komfortfunktionen wie bei google maps…nur eben für Wasserstraßen in Europa. Nach Erprobung dann dieses Jahr der Wechsel von Navionics zu Waterkaarten. Hilfreich war hierbei auch das angebotene Seminar im Vorfeld. Einbindung unseres AIS Transponders und des GPS unser Funkanlage Vesper Cortex M1 war problemlos. Wir waren jetzt 2 Wochen und 1300 km mit dem Boot unterwegs und konnten die App ausgiebig testen. Routenplanung und alle anderen Funktionen waren super einfach zu bedienen. Das Schöne war, dass wir drei Geräte auch parallel nutzen konnten. Was mir gut gefällt ist die prompte Reaktion der Entwickler auf Anregungen oder Meldungen von Änderungen zB. bei Restaurants etc. Schön ist besonders die stets freundliche und persönliche Rückmeldung hierbei. Tolle App und tolles Team. Weiter so. ### 5/5 — A real help *2024-07-05* Transitted the "Mast Up" route from Amsterdam to Vlissingen in July 24. I had just been introduced to Waterkaarten and found this a fantastic help going through the canals and with the bridges and locks on the way. It was so much easier than the last time I did thois a few yeasr ago without Waterkaarten.
