Why is this app so messed up on posting the recent editorials? I pay for my subscription and I’d appreciate knowing what’s being published as an editorial in these uncertain times of upheaval. ### 2/5 — Editorials out of date *2025-09-02, version 9.52.0* The editorials are often two weeks or more old before added to the app. ### 2/5 — Annoying banners *2023-08-02* Recently they added ‘breaking news’ banners. They are very annoying, appear to stack as multiple articles are assigned that status, and it looks like you can’t deactivate this ‘feature.’ Try again, or at least let us deactivate it. **Developer response:** Hello, the breaking news banners are dismissible, have you tried closing it with the "x" button? we only allow upto 2 banners at a time so that it does not cover the rest of the content ### 1/5 — Frustrating *2021-12-22* No longer free to read. ### 1/5 — ??? *2021-01-13* Some days it works great and most days lately it just drops. Worse yet it doesn’t even give an option to login on the article page, only an option to contact us. This app does not give me everything my in each daily newspaper, even as a signed in paid subscription. I changed from the record app on my newspaper subscription which I had used since COVID started and it easy and functionality was great on my iPhone. Since it needed renewed, I am now forced to use this app that is terrible and full of old news, no obituaries when all I want to do is see the actual record paper and press on any article in the paper. I can’t get the newspaper view to enlarge to even see it properly on iPhone. ### 1/5 — Paywall now *2021-12-23* Added paywall to as an enhancement. Deleted app ### 1/5 — No longer free. For what??? ## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated) ### 5/5 — Never get the editorials *2023-04-28, version 8.54.0* On my Record app, there is still, today April 28, only one editorial showing fir the whole of 2023. So disappointing. When friends tell me about interesting info, I search for articles by headline, buy author, and often get nothing. And we pay for this?!?!?! ### 5/5 — Great app *2021-02-25* Love it 👍 ### 5/5 — So. Much. Better. *2020-07-02* From exclusively complaints to none. Major improvement to the app. Functionality is now on par with current decade. ### 4/5 — Good app for reading news *2026-01-22* Gets the job done well. The Home/Latest button is a bit mysterious. I had previously reported a scrolling problem that rendered the app almost unusable. It took a while, I think it was actually an iPadOS 26 issue, but it was resolved. Communication with the developers and support was good. Thanks to them. **Developer response:** Hi there, I’m sorry to hear this bug has been such a headache for you and that it led you to cancel your subscription.
