## What is Watt Charging Speed?

How fast is your charger, really? Plug in your iPhone or iPad and Watt Charging Speed shows you a live estimate of your charging power in watts — so you can tell a fast charger from a slow one, and find out whether your cable actually supports fast charging.

HOW IT WORKS — HONESTLY
iPhone and iPad don't give apps access to a hardware power meter. Instead, Watt Charging Speed estimates wattage by tracking how quickly your battery level rises, combined with your device's exact battery capacity. That means:
• Readings are careful estimates, not direct measurements
• Your first reading appears after a few minutes of charging
• The longer the app stays open while charging, the more accurate it gets

LIVE CHARGING SPEED
• Live wattage estimate while charging
• Color-coded speed indicator: Fast, Normal, Slow, or Trickle
• Animated charging ring and live session graph
• Estimated time until fully charged

BENCHMARK YOUR CHARGERS
• Create battery range tests (e.g. 30% → 80%) and time them precisely
• Compare chargers and cables under identical conditions
• See which charger actually performs best

CHARGING HISTORY
• Automatic session tracking with average watts, duration, and battery range
• Compare sessions over time to spot slow cables or aging chargers

PRIVATE BY DESIGN
• No ads, no tracking, no accounts
• All data stays on your device
• Works completely offline

GOOD TO KNOW
iOS pauses background apps, so keep Watt Charging Speed open while it measures — it keeps your screen awake during a session so nothing is interrupted.

Perfect for testing a new charger, diagnosing slow charging, or finally settling which of your cables belongs in the drawer.

### 1/5 — Does NOT work!

*2026-07-29*

Don’t waste your money

### 2/5 — Deceptive Description

*2026-06-19*

This app doesn’t actually give you “real time” wattage as it claims. It attempts to calculate based on battery level changes but this often yields absurd results which are not technically possible.

**Developer response:** You're right on both counts, and this review pushed us to fix it properly. Thank you.

The absurd readings came from how we calculated wattage: iOS only reports battery level in coarse 5% steps, often with a delay, and our old approach measured over a short time window — so a delayed level jump could produce spikes that were physically impossible. Update 1.1.1 replaces this: wattage is now measured between observed level changes, so both endpoints sit exactly on a step boundary, and readings that would be distorted by delayed reporting after unlocking are discarded. The impossible spikes are gone.

You're also right that "real-time wattage" oversold it. iOS doesn't give apps access to a hardware power meter — every reading is an estimate derived from battery level changes and your device's battery capacity. We've rewritten the App Store description to say exactly that, and the app now needs a few minutes before showing its first (reliable) number instead of showing a fast wrong one.

If you give 1.1.1 a try and still catch an implausible reading, we'd genuinely like to hear about it.

계속 화면을 쳐다보면서 안꺼지게 터치해야함. isIdleTimerDisabled = true 가 필요함.

**Developer response:**

### 1/5 — A fuir

*2026-05-16*

Merci.
