## What is WattPrep?

Practice for the Texas journeyman electrician exam with 40 original questions checked against NEC 2026. Start with a free 10-question diagnostic; unlock the full bank, timed practice, calculators and Index Speed Trainer with a subscription or one-time purchase.

Use the code alongside the app. WattPrep is a study aid; independent review by a licensed Texas electrician has not been completed. It is not a substitute for the code or a tool for installation design.

TIMED PRACTICE
Practice code knowledge and calculations in separate sessions, with no repeated question within a session. Timers follow the exam's approximate pace: 2.2 minutes per code question and 4.2 per calculation. Sessions use the available bank and are shorter than the full exam.

STUDY CALCULATORS
Work through conduit fill, ampacity adjustments, motor circuits, dwelling load components, overcurrent protection, box fill and voltage drop. Each tool shows its code reference and assumptions. Dwelling results cover the listed components, not every load needed to size a service.

FIND THE RIGHT ARTICLE
The Index Speed Trainer gives you a target to locate in your code book. Track your time and practice again.

TRACK YOUR PRACTICE
See accuracy by topic and review explanations after answering. Your earlier study history stays on your device; current readiness reflects the 2026 bank.

PRIVATE BY DESIGN
No account or analytics. Study history stays on your iPhone, and study tools work offline. Purchases and restoration use Apple's services.

SUBSCRIPTION AND PURCHASE DETAILS
Monthly subscription: USD 11.99 per month, including a 7-day free trial for new subscribers. Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase. ## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.0.4 — 2026-09-23

Updated to NEC 2026 with 40 original practice questions and revised code references.

Dwelling exercises now distinguish branch-circuit lighting from feeder and service lighting. Corrected ampacity values, motor currents and overload calculations, appliance demand factors, and box-fill allowances.

Code and calculation sessions use separate question pools and their respective exam pace. Existing study history is preserved.

Answers and supported calculator values were checked against the 2026 code. Independent licensed electrician review has not been completed; verify answers in your code book.

### 1.0.3 — 2026-08-25

The question bank grows from 20 to 30 NEC-verified questions, with ten new calculation items: motor full-load currents, Table 430.52 protection percentages, ampacity and temperature-correction lookups, conduit-fill areas and demand factors.

Mock exams are now sized honestly to the bank: every mock draws each question at most once, and the clock scales to the real exam's pace — 2.2 minutes per question, same 70% thresholds. No more repeated questions inside a mock.

### 1.0.2 — 2026-08-20

WattPrep now asks how you're finding the app — but only after you pass a mock exam, and never in the middle of a question.

No changes to the question bank, the calculators or the Index Speed Trainer.

### 1.0.1 — 2026-08-19

Clearer labelling of what the app generates, and a safety reminder where it matters most.

• Answer explanations now say when their wording was refined on-device by Apple Intelligence. The answer itself and its NEC article reference are written and reviewed by people, as always.

• Every calculator now carries a reminder to verify against the adopted NEC and your local Authority Having Jurisdiction before performing work.

Nothing you do in WattPrep leaves your iPhone. No account, no analytics, no tracking.

### 1.0 — 2026-08-19
