Sadly it freezes and refuses to work in CarPlay I’d added three ‘favourites’ then chose one. The button flashed blue but nothing changed. The same for all the other controls in the app. Just stayed frozen. Update: Tried it again for a trip to Cornwall and there’s no improvement. Completely hangs while searching. Not tried the new filters as yet. ### 4/5 — Great and easy to use *2022-11-22, version 2.9* Simple app… shows you chargers nearby or along route Please consider adding these features to make it 5 stars 1) on CarPlay … make it easier to see number of chargers and availability (just like on phone app). When searching using CarPlay it is not as intuitive 2) allow search for for specific number of chargers… for example you only show places with 2 or more when looking at multiple chargers. Why not give option for 4 or more for example Well done for the good app otherwise ### 3/5 — iPhone great, CarPlay so-so *2022-07-02, version 2.7.1* As with so many apps (looking at you ABRP and Zap-Map), on your phone it works really well. As soon as you load it up in CarPlay, thinks go downhill a bit… Live status on CarPlay doesn’t seem to update as frequently as it does on the iPhone (this is on the same phone that’s connected to the car!) Hard to get situational awareness of where the chargers actually are (Carplay) Slow and unresponsive (Carplay) ### 4/5 — Faz *2022-06-11, version 2.7.1* Thank you for working hard to make the traveling long distance effortless , but I would like more chargers with live status that’s like Tesla to none Tesla , why I have given you 4 Stars , ### 4/5 — Saved Journeys? *2022-05-17, version 2.7.1* This app is a big asset for EV owners, as the information it provides is invaluable, covering stacks of different types of chargers. I very much hope that at some stage in the future the app could have a “saved journey” setting. How often is it updated though? The nearest rapid chargers to where I live are at Tesco stores but they don’t appear. Nor can you add charge points to your address book. If you want to check for charge points or directly navigate to one - this is it. This is all that it does. Zap Map has more and better features for now. The house has been here for over 15 years…. Sort it out! No excuse for this! And yes my address has been in Apple Maps for 10 plus years so stop being lazy and blaming Apple! 2. Car database …. Shoddy and needs a major update and keeping updated! Again no excuse for this! Why should I have to email you… this is a basic fundamental you need to sort! 3. Crashes when you try to update the database…. Poor code quality, sort out your testing 4. Routing - pretty good, implementation of selecting stops doesn’t update the route. Makes the app pretty pointless and the routing is painfully slow. 5. User interface- not great needs more work 6. Value for money …. A complete waste of money. How do I get a refund! You have to choose your car to enable it to work but my car (Renault Captur PHEV) is not listed so cannot use the app! The navigation interface is poor and there’s no map browse facility. Data is not accurate for many chargers and there are many missing from the app. ### 1/5 — Northern Ireland to Scotland takes no via Dublin! *2021-01-21, version 2.0* I submitted a route from Northern Ireland to Montrose in Scotland. The app doesn’t seem to recognise the ferry terminals in Belfast and routes you via Dublin. I reinstalled it like you said and it works perfectly. I didn’t think of doing that. Great app ! Sorry about the negative feedback, I’ve given 5 stars now. ### 5/5 — A Fantastic App *2024-04-11, version 2.20* This is my Goto app for planning charging stops. It changes the way I think by offering the quickest route and then suggesting the chargers en route. Never again will I be dictated to by charging options. I also appreciate how up to date the charger database is. I will definitely be subscribing! ### 5/5 — Makes it easier to spot chargers on route *2022-07-11, version 2.7.1* Tried it on a longer journey this weekend. I love the concept of it, clear and easy to spot icons with suppliers logos rather that an icon of a charger. Like the fact it can show you charger statuses. What would be nice on CarPlay is that it follows you along the map. Currently it doesn’t, can only locate your current position and then as you drive you’re out of screen. ### 5/5 — Best view for chargers on my journey *2022-06-25, version 2.7.1* I love the WattsUp journey view. The ability to see the chargers that are ahead of you on the road and have live usage data where available is excellent. It makes selecting a stopping point super easy. ### 5/5 — What a brilliant app *2022-06-17, version 2.7.1* There are quite a number of EV charger apps out there but this one seems to have been designed by people who actually drive an EV. In the real world I don’t stop on a long journey when the car battery is about to run out. What I need is choices of rapid chargers ahead on my route that work with my car and are not occupied. I don’t care about the chargers owners and I don’t want to have to double back. This addresses all this and works in Apple CarPlay. It needs to add more live info but where it has it the app is near perfect. I do hope the developers will quickly add multipoint routes into apple maps after the next iOS release and do wonder what the database update in the settings is used for but thats it. Thank you. You are producing what is needed and not ripping users off with subscriptions that still don’t fix the real issues. ### 5/5 — The Best of the Charging Apps *2022-06-11, version 2.7.1* There are a number of charging apps, but for me this is the one I go to, especially on the move. There are a number of reasons, most importantly this app shows me whether chargers are available with live data direct from the networks whilst other apps rely on users to report broken chargers and then continue to report them broken even when WattsUp correctly lists them as fixed. Secondly this app works reliably on CarPlay - others in trying to restrict CarPlay access only to paid users have ended up with apps that sometimes don’t work correctly on CarPlay just when you need it to find a charger. With WattsUp it comes up with a list of all the nearby available rapid chargers. The only minor annoyance is that it can’t pass the directions to it my navigation app of choice Waze. Basically WattsUp focuses on doing one thing, and does it well, they’re not getting distracted by paid tiers, charging payments, and have produced the best app to find a working, available charger. ### 5/5 — My Go To EV Charging App *2022-03-30, version 2.7.1* This app is a vital piece of my toolkit when travelling about. Status of chargepoints are kept up-to-date and a really well designed layout with all the useful information easily available. Just a suggestion: Would it be possible to increase the number of favourites listed beyond six? And possibly be able to re-order the favourites list? Keep up the good work! BlairC ### 5/5 — Apple carplay integration *2021-08-31, version 2.4* Can you add to your excellent carplay app - that I can select different providers that I like to use e.g. InstaVolt or shell and ones that I want to avoid: - Where they are and get directions with apple or google maps. - their speed and - If possible if they are free. ### 5/5 — Charger availability! *2019-10-18, version 1.11* It’s a crowded app market with zap and PlugShare. This does something they don’t - it provides details of chargers but specifically if they are available! This is similar to how Tesla in car navigation to Superchargers work. It’s not as easy to use as google maps or abetterrouteplanner for route choice. However, the usual apps don’t give you any info about charger availability, they just say where they are and this app may save you going to one that is already occupied. I’m not sure how this is done by the app - it seems really clever! You can get the availability info from the CYC website, but this makes it much simpler to see several at the same time, in an area you are heading along or heading to. ### 5/5 — Great app! *2019-06-06, version 1.6* This is really helpful as we are new electric car owners.
