## What is wave?

Know the tide, and the beach changes.

The same beach can be great at high tide and risky at low. wave-log pairs your activity — surfing, snorkeling, swimming, or beach rest — with the tide stage to tell you, in time rather than stars, whether a beach works right now or at a moment you choose.

Three regions in one app: Korea, Okinawa (Japan), and Bali (Indonesia). From surf in Busan and Yangyang to a trip in Okinawa or Bali, cross-border and continuous.

Main features

- Activity × tide suitability: pick surfing, snorkeling, swimming, or beach rest, and the map keeps only the beaches that suit it right now.
- Tide clock: see the time to the next high or low at a glance, with the ebb/flow and spring/neap stage.
- Three-second live wave logs: no photo uploads — just a three-second clip shot on site. The tide at posting time is stamped in, and the video can't be edited, so it's exactly what you saw.
- Wave ratings and beach masters: recent conditions from people who were there become your call for today. Log enough at one beach to appear as its master on the map.
- Four-axis search: find beaches by name, region, address, or tag — even qualities like "quiet beach." Save the ones you like to My Beaches.

What's inside now

- 306 curated beaches, 3,672 activity × tide suitability data points, real cover photos.

Browse without an account; check-ins, saves, and logs are available after sign-up. Tide data is powered by WorldTides. Some features — like wave height and picking a future time to preview on a timeline — are coming in a later version.

Inappropriate content can be reported and users blocked; an operator reviews reports.

## Version history (last 3 releases)

### 1.2.0 — 2026-08-16

Beaches now open on the info tab — suitability and tide first. A new directions button opens your maps app.

Check-in is smoother. You'll know before filming when you can check in again, uploads show their progress and can be stopped, and a failed upload keeps your clip so you can send it later.

Location is only asked for after we explain why. Faint text is darker and easier to read.

### 1.1.0 — 2026-08-09

You can now sign in with Apple or Google.

Pick a region when you first start, and the map opens there. Saved beaches now show the best time windows for your activity over the next seven days. Shared beach links now open directly in the app.

Added safety guidance to beach details and a "rights violation" report reason. Fixed an issue where longer check-in comments failed to post.

### 1.0 — 2026-07-25

No release notes.
