Makes things easy to track, reports are great, categories and expenses make things easy. Only two complaints: support is nonexistent. Additionally, I have been having issues getting my credit card accounts to automatically sync for historical transactions. To bridge the gap, I used the import feature with a csv file which worked, but randomly last week the system decided to import these same transactions resulting in duplications with no easy way to remove these without starting over on that account. I do not use payroll so I cannot speak to that. ### 3/5 — Not for Payroll ☹️ *2026-07-22, version 4.19.0* Affordable, easy to set up. Great for accounting, I’m happy with the expense tracking and receipt capture and bookkeeping system. However!! ‼️Payroll feature is a nightmare doused in gas rolling down a grassy hill in August‼️Trash. ZERO customer support. I emailed and chat requested 5 times in two weeks trying to run payroll for end of June after I hit a glitch.. it’s now the end of July and I obviously went with a different payroll service, (very happy with it) and still haven’t heard a whisper back from Waves “customer service”, which I had heard was at least decent. So, good and bad. ### 3/5 — Receipts *2026-07-15, version 4.18.0* I downloaded this so that I could more easily upload receipts for transactions. But it doesn’t work as I would expect. When you take a picture of a receipt it creates a new transaction. I was hoping it would ask me to match the receipt to an already existing transaction so that I don’t have doubles. I wait to upload transactions until after wave pulls the bank transactions. Another option would be to search for the transaction and then add it, however there is no search function in the transaction view, only a filter. It would be so easy to have a search function so I could search for the exact amount of the transaction and then upload. That’s how I do it through the web browser interface on my phone but the web interface isn’t optimized for small phones. But I guess I’ll continue to do it that way for now. ### 2/5 — Slow customer service *2026-07-08, version 4.18.0* Customer service is slow. Emails take days to get a response for. Having an issue with payment processing for AMEX and after 7 days, and only after sending follow up emails do I get a response and unfortunately the response has no resolution. ### 1/5 — Force you to pay *2026-07-03, version 4.18.0* After using the app successfully and being satisfied with it, now it will not load my products and there is no human support available unless you subscribe to their plan. The app has literally no functionality as others have described in their reviews. Many users, including ones who felt forced to pay Waves after they stripped basic features, and others who were already paying customers, have had big problems with Waves, including their critical payroll system. WE PROCESSED A PAYMENT FOR OUR CUSTOMER ON THEIR WEBSITE, one week later we still didn’t have money in our account. They emailed us and said we need to provide proof of all communications with the customer, contracts, details about the services rendered and more before they will release our money. How about none of your business wave! I switched to quick books and never dealt with this bs with quickbooks or square or any other card payment processor ever. ### 1/5 — Trash *2026-08-20, version 4.20.0* Why am i paying for an app that doesn’t let me do the basics…. 4 days invoices “wave has encountered a error” ### 1/5 — AWFUL CUSTOMER SUPPORT *2026-08-14, version 4.20.0* Even in paid tiers, wave customer support is horrendous. I started an account and still 2 weeks later I can’t accept payments because they haven’t verified it. 2 weeks???? Come on!!! Their customer service hotline is an ai chatty bot. Then, when you finally get a person, it’s a tier one rep who is about as useful as the ai bot. DO NOT USE WAVE. PLEASE LOOK ELSEWHERE OR STAY ON QUICKBOOKS ### 1/5 — Denied my payout and didn’t refund my client *2026-08-13, version 4.20.0* We are a dry hire mobile bar and we were using wave for invoices and keeping track of receipts. Our first event came around and my client paid on July 18th in full. The event happened on july 30th and I noticed it was still pending on our end. Now fast forward it is now August 12 and the payout is on hold because they decided our type of business is too risky for them. We have gotten back in contact with the client and they have not received a refund. Customer service is nonexistent with emails that are ignored and a chat box that they made very hard to find. I would not recommend! I luckily had a client who is willing to go out of their way to dispute the charge and has offered to pay me another way once they get their refund. My dream updates: 1. not having to click attach invoice as pdf EVERY time. 2. A report for all invoices, right now I print the invoices page from the web so I have something physical to cross off as customers pay individual invoices. 3. Super dreaming, but reports from in app would be amazing. Right now I use the app to input all invoices.
