### 4/5 — sick

*2024-03-19, version 2.3.31*

this game is so sick gives me geometry dash wave vibes, but the only problem is the ten minute timer for free playing until you have to pay to play. if this didnt exist it would be way better in my opinion, and you could pay to get the perks but either way it would be free to play with ads.

### 2/5 — Another game ruined by GameClub

*2021-03-01*

I've owned Wave Wave since launch many years ago, and opening it now only led to more disappointment.

It's not about anything the developer did. No, the developer of Wave Wave is actually in the process of making another entry to the Wave Franchise as we speak.

GameClub as a publisher has an inherently flawed approach towards indie developers for iOS. How and why? Well who wants to be pay-walled by a subscription that gives you unlimited to tons of games you didn't ask for all to play A SINGULAR GAME WITHOUT LIMITS OR RESTRICTIONS?!

Many other developers have watched some amazing games tank in rating, reviews, and more because of shady and garbage publishers like Playond or GameClub. They do nothing but harm the developers and the users trying to play the game by making nobody want to download the game.
For example, this had happened to WoblyWare and the creator of Daggerhood.

Even as someone who has unlimited access to the game due to my previous purchase of Wave Wave as a paid application, GameClub is genuinely even more intrusive with the fact that it has random pop ups, their obtrusive interactive logo that's in the way of every UI element in the game outside of main gameplay, and the fact that they removed the link to the original developer's Twitter account.

Wave Wave and its real developer are what really made the game a masterpiece. Publishers like GameClub and Playond are really what ruin games.

If you're an indie developer looking for publishers, i recommend you check out Crescent Moon Games; that's where games like Daggerhood went after they got hurt from people like Playond and GameClub.

### 2/5 — So sad to see another one go

*2020-06-14*

I love games that follow the perfect pattern of Super Hexagon. I can tell a lot of inspiration came from there. But selling to Gameclub was a big mistake. The game is now hollow and subscription based. It’s disappointing to see another great game be taken away and moved to a subscription system. The reviews of this game are filled with Gameclub’s garbage PA copy/paste script. I wish I could rate this higher, but the game just isn’t worth $5 per month. And I know that Gameclub supplies “hUnDrEdS oF hOuRs Of CoNtEnT” but it’s just not worth it. This game was awesome. But it’s gone now. Lay it to rest and uninstall. Goodbye Wave Wave. You’ll be missed.

### 3/5 — Addictive but pay wall ruins it

*2020-05-17*

Exactly the title the paywall just ruins the game so I’d rather play super hexagon

### 3/5 — I'm disappointed.

*2016-08-12*

Okay, let's start off with if that the games great, but we have seen much better from you. You had a great game, with so much playability and it's so addicting. Now, it's completely different game that me, and some other people aren't found of. We had the one and only Wave Wave, and now we have anger, different, odd game. We've seen better from you, and for that, I'll give this new Wave Wave three stars.

### 3/5 — Kinda shallow

*2015-06-29, version 2.1.4*

The difficulty on this thing is practically insurmountable. I got to a point where I just wasn't improving anymore. In other words, I survive 40-50 seconds max. This is after hundreds of tries. The other modes aren't anymore forgiving. So yeah, not a whole lot of fun to be had here. Not very many game modes either.

### 5/5 — Copied?

*2015-06-08, version 2.1.4*

I love this game even though it is obvious that you took some ideas from super hexagon. But that is beside the point. I recently downloaded a game called dot wave. This game is almost exactly like your game. Now I can tell that it wasn't an exact copy, but still he copied the graphics and gameplay. I could be wrong and you copied, but I thought that I would tell you in my review. And it's a great game by the way.

### 5/5 — Hard

*2015-04-04, version 2.1.4*

I love it but it need a easy mode

### 5/5 — Insanely hard and insanely fun

*2015-03-23, version 2.1.4*

Whoop! You will be celebrating over that 12 second score you got with this challenging endless game. The best music oriented game I have ever played, and definitely in my top three games of all time. Just be prepared to lose.

A lot.

### 4/5 — Wave mode!!

*2015-03-01, version 2.1.4*

Plz bring back wave mode it was much better and what this game was named after Amirite?

### 5/5 — Addictive...

*2015-02-15, version 2.1.4*

...but hard 10/10

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Nobody is paying for that subscription

*2024-05-15*

Rip wave wave

### 1/5 — You ruined it

*2021-08-29*

This used to be a great game but then you came along and completely ruined it

### 1/5 — Not Playable

*2021-01-06*

Hello, I came from this YouTuber who played this game, and I thought it would be a bit fun to play. I see many reviews about the game being subscription based. I thought the “subscription” was being able to like unlock new things and be able to play. I download the game, then it advertises the subscription. There is NO WAY to play the game without paying a subscription. It pops up, and there is no “I want to play this game, I don’t really want to subscribe” kind of button. NOPE, there is no button like that in sight. This is unplayable. I tried multiple ways to get AROUND the paywall. There isn’t a way. Try making the game PAY TO PLAY. Like, “In order to download, pay $1.99” it may be free, but there is a subscription, I do not recommend playing.

Edit: Thanks, developer for responding. I was able to get past the subscription pay wall. I still don’t get the fact that you only have 10 MINUTES to play the game when you just want to play the game and don’t want to subscribe. Just allow people to not to do the subscription, I just want to play the game, it’s fun. Stars aren’t changing at the moment.

**Developer response:** Wave Wave is totally free to try with no need to sign up — email entry is 100% skippable. No subscription is necessary to try out the game (though full access is only for subscribers) — just press the "no thanks" options, and you'll be able to play the game to get a taste of it. If you're having trouble, we're happy to help at support@gameclub.io.

We also offer a free trial (that you can cancel at any time) so you can play as many of the games in our library as much as you want before spending any money.

### 1/5 — Ya don’t get this game

*2020-05-24*

This could have easily been a fun free game with the use of advertisements but they decided to make you have to pay to play which is kind of annoying.

**Developer response:** Wave Wave is part of a larger game subscription service called GameClub — all-you-can-play access to a large library of curated games (including Wave Wave), with hundreds of hours of gameplay within the subscription.

Though full access is only included with a subscription, we're committed to letting everyone "try before you buy" — to play enough to get a sense of the game free of charge. We also offer a free trial (that you can cancel at any time) so you can play as many of the games in our library as much as you want before spending any money. Hope you take a look at our other titles to give them a try!

### 1/5 — Really?

*2020-02-13*

Did you really had to make it a subscription like come on it used to be free what is wrong with you guys!

**Developer response:** Everyone who bought this game prior to this update will continue to have full access to the game without starting a subscription. It sounds like this free upgrade benefit did not work for you — please write us at support@gameclub.io to get it straightened out.

### 1/5 — Rest in peace, Wave wave.

*2019-12-11*

Looks like this great game was killed and sucked dry by a greedy parasitic leech. Slapping “Gameclub” in the name, adding a Gameclub around the border of the app icon, and requiring you to sign in to Gameclub to play this game. Now that’s one hungry, greedy parasite. Sad to see this game go, but I guess that’s just survival of the fittest around here. :/

If you buy or download anything from them, you’re enabling their behavior. Stand strong, don’t buy any of their crap. Wave wave is gone, but we can ensure other games won’t face the same fate.

**Developer response:** GameClub offers all-you-can-play access to a large library of curated games, which we've updated to work on modern devices.

Everyone who bought any of our games previously should continue to have full access to the game without starting a subscription. However, in some cases it is no longer possible to detect a previous purchase. If you once purchased this game on the App Store, please write us at support@gameclub.io to get it straightened out.

### 1/5 — What a shame.

*2019-11-21*

This game was outstanding and so much fun. What a shame this large company came and bought it out and slapped ads all over the place. Considering I paid for this game and it now has ads like a free game, I’ll probably refund it and get my money back. 🖕

### 1/5 — Not what it used to be

*2015-09-19, version 2.1.4*

Still miss the near-perfect, original iteration of this game.

### 1/5 — 2.0 Update has ruined this game

*2015-05-23, version 2.1.4*

Don't normally write reviews here but I am so angry that I feel I have to. Put simply give us back the old version. I hate the new update. Either give us this back or give me a refund!

### 1/5 — Wasted my money!!! The older game was better!!!

*2015-02-02, version 2.1.4*

I previously played this game on my friend*s iphone and it was incredible but when i downloaded the game soon it was completely different. So i was extremely furious and disappointed. Please give us back the old gameplay!!! It was muuuch better. If you do it for us in the next update i will change my review and give you 5 stars.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Good game but bad subscription method

*2024-03-18, version 2.3.31*

I like this game, as a gd player, but the problem is that the devs made the stupid decision to lock it behind a subscription, preventing this game from ever becoming popular or being playable. At least make it a one time purchase to play this game.

### 5/5 — Fantastic!

*2019-05-06*

I love the new update. Never thought the hardest game I ever played could get harder and I'd still love it, but here we are.

UPDATE 2019:

Still love this game, sad to see some loser ripped it off and is putting massive amounts of ads on it.

### 5/5 — Yes

*2018-05-16*

Add Extreme Mode (60s+)Starting Options(Like super hexagon) For Insane People Like Me.

Also, this game is high quality and definitely for people who enjoy super hexagon but want different mechanics to play around with. The music is nice and pretty much the only people who dislike this game think it’s a copy of super hexagon or liked the old version more(a prospect I disagree with because wave mode is kind of cancerous). If you don’t fall into either of those two parties, you will definitely enjoy the game.

### 5/5 — Love this game!!!

*2016-09-20*

I started on a dare to complete this game, but I soon became addicted and this is my 7th time besting the game! So fun!
Please Get This Game!!!

### 5/5 — Great game

*2016-07-24*

This is my favorite game and it is very colorful. And my favorite color is on the cover of the game which is awesome. It is one of my favorite game.

### 5/5 — Nice

*2015-12-12, version 2.1.4*

Very very difficult, but fun. Requires a lot of patience.

### 5/5 — Hard, addictive and challenging!

*2015-10-25, version 2.1.4*

One of the hardest games I have yet played. I am dedicated in trying to finish it, but it's so damn hard! The music was a really good choice, as well as the patterns used!

It kind of feels like an inspiration from Super Hexagon, but that doesn't matter.

In summary, gr8 game m8 i r8 8/8.

### 5/5 — 3rd party sequel to Super Hexagon?

*2015-09-13, version 2.1.4*

It's insanely addictive, super hard to master.

### 5/5 — Heaps of fun, reasonably difficult... Lol

*2015-06-29, version 2.1.4*

Hard but keeps you coming back for more!! Love it!!

### 5/5 — The Perfect Game

*2015-06-16, version 2.1.4*

Honestly, I don't know why people are so upset about the new update. It adds so many things that weren't there before! The new update adds tricks, challenges and a new game mode that is even more fun than the last. There is also a 'legacy' setting which pretty much gives you the original game as well. What's not to like?
