## What is Wavebender?

Wavebender turns your iPhone into an instrument you play in the air — like a real theremin, but in your pocket.

Hold your phone in landscape. Your right hand sweeps pitch left and right. Your left hand controls volume — raise it for more sound. No screen touches while you play.

BUILT FOR MUSICIANS
• Continuous pitch with scale snap — from pure theremin to locked pentatonics
• Minor pentatonic, blues, harmonic minor, and more
• Pinch the stage to zoom your pitch range; pan to shift the starting note
• Play-space calibration maps the ruler to your reach
• Pitch-hand height adds expressive vibrato
• Triangle, sine, saw, and FM voices with hall reverb
• Motion prediction and smoothing tuned for playable latency

STUDIO OUTPUT
• Virtual MPE MIDI source "Wavebender" for GarageBand, Logic, Cubasis, and other MPE-aware hosts
• Continuous pitch bend and expressive control — no extra purchase required

HONEST ENGINEERING
• Front-camera hand tracking runs on device — video never leaves your phone
• TrueDepth distance readouts on supported iPhones
• Bluetooth audio warning when latency would ruin the feel
• Landscape play designed for iPhone

A serious pocket instrument — not a touch toy. Requires a front-facing camera and good lighting on your hands.

## Version history (last 3 releases)

### 1.2 — 2026-06-21

A refreshed look and feel for the stage controls.

New Liquid Glass design — the tone, key, and scale selectors and the record and settings buttons now sit in a clean, uniform glass bar (on iOS 26; earlier versions keep the frosted style).
Haptic feedback when you tap record and settings.
Smoother volume control — snappier, more natural response to fast hand movements.
General polish and responsiveness across the on-stage controls.

### 1.1 — 2026-06-21

Wavebender 1.1

Wavebender 1.1 brings the most-requested feature — recording — along with a smoother, more refined instrument throughout.

Record and share

Capture your performance straight from the instrument — every glide, wobble, and reverb tail, exactly as you hear it. Tap record on the stage, play, then stop to share it to Messages, Files, Voice Memos, or anywhere.
A more refined feel

New rotary dials for the sound and feel controls — snap, smoothing, prediction, and reverb now turn like real knobs.
Retuned default settings for a more responsive, more musical starting point.
Smoother and quieter

Opening settings, stopping a recording, or switching apps now fades out cleanly — no more crackle or noise on the way in or out.
Vibrato stays steady until you raise your hand past the center of the frame, then blooms — so a resting hand never wobbles.
Easier setup

Drag one finger to slide your pitch range, and pinch to zoom it — just like Maps and Photos.
Thanks for playing. Keep the music in the air.
