Add a note to a signal at a moment in time — a callout, an arrow, or a shaded band over a range — and it stays glued to the edge it describes as you pan and zoom, because it is anchored to the signal and the time rather than to a position on screen. Notes remember what they were about. Each one records the value the signal actually had when you wrote it. Reopen the trace after re-running your simulation and any note whose signal no longer does what it claimed marks itself as drifted, instead of quietly going on asserting something the design stopped doing. Filter to just those and you have your review. Your notes stay with the file. Close the tab, open the same waveform days later, and they are still there. Send the whole thing as one file. Share Annotated Waveform writes a single .wavecruxpack holding your notes, the slice of the trace they refer to, and a rendered preview — small enough to email. Whoever opens it sees exactly what you were looking at, with nothing to reconstruct and no access to your files. Packs open on the desktop app and in the browser at app.wavecrux.app, so you can send one to somebody who does not have WaveCrux at all. Step through a trace in order. Move between notes in the sequence the events happened, centring each one — an argument you can walk somebody through rather than a screenshot with an arrow drawn on it. Fixes: exported images now use each signal's real colour instead of drawing every lane the same, and include the annotations drawn on them. ### 0.7.1 — 2026-08-12 Signals that carry numbers can now be drawn as numbers. Long-press a fixed-point or floating-point bus and choose Render as analog to plot it as a curve instead of reading it as hex. Unknown and high-impedance stretches render as gaps rather than as zero, so the plot never invents data that was not there. UART decoding no longer assumes a baud rate. Choose baud rate for a captured trace, clocks per bit for a simulation — bind your design's clock and enter the same divisor the RTL uses — or let WaveCrux infer the bit period from the line. Export switching activity as SAIF, the format power-analysis tools read, over the signals and time range you choose. A new Pipeline Diagram Stage widget renders instructions moving through your pipeline stage by stage, on any design whose stages you can bind. Two example sessions open straight from the welcome screen — no file of your own needed. Fixes: zoom-out stops at the end of the trace instead of continuing to a useless one tick per pixel; RISC-V immediates decode against the documented schema, correcting some branch and jump operands; resizable Stage widgets stop clipping their own contents; and counts read correctly in every language. ### 0.5.0 — 2026-08-01 Panels are now a proper dock. The bottom sheet behaves like the desktop dock — tabs you can drag between regions, restore bars for collapsed panels, and clearer hide controls. The Stage has one playback transport instead of three competing controls, and turning it on gives you a working panel straight away. The welcome screen shows the running version, so you can tell at a glance which build you're on. Fixes: Quit now works from every screen; the APB decoder accepts any address-bus width; loading overlays no longer clip their button on short screens. Plus other performance and quality improvements. ### 0.4.0 — 2026-07-31 Smoother canvas — snappier tapping and panning; double-tap no longer taxes every click. Better protocol decoding — more resilient parsers, automatic bus-width detection, and cleaner rendering of large payloads.
