### 2/5 — No support for Tidal or Spotify or IOS audio

*2024-07-01, version 1.4*

I'd like to listen to Tidal and general IOS audio using this app. It doesn't work with these apps though so it's useless to me. That's s shame

### 3/5 — Bruh

*2023-10-27, version 1.4*

It’s not letting me login into soundcloud

### 4/5 — Love it but needs streaming services

*2021-11-26, version 1.4*

Oh how I would love to use this app more. I do a lot of listening to Spotify and they have stopped support. I believe it’s probably more of a Spotify problem but if enough people request maybe it can get done. I’d gladly pay for the app if it can include this feature.

### 2/5 — Years Later, Still No Support for Tidal or Apple Music

*2021-01-21, version 1.3.0*

The concerns of the review posted years prior still have not been addressed. Fun and interesting way to cross reference between the Waves NX plugin and 360 system, but still no support for any streaming service other than Spotify. This app could go far if was adapted to meet the needs of users.

### 4/5 — Headphone list?

*2020-12-21, version 1.3.0*

I love using the tracker with the Abbey Road Studio 3 plugin on my MacBook. It allows me to select my headphone type from a list to match them. This would be a 5 star review if you can add this feature. Would also love to see AUV3 support, or at least inter app audio. Otherwise a great app.

### 4/5 — Sounds great!

*2020-11-29, version 1.3.0*

I use this exclusively with my music library, and it works well. Like other reviewers, I wish it had a built in browser to listen to YouTube & other non-premium streaming services. But for me, working with my music library is most important, so I give this app 4 stars.

### 2/5 — Barely works

*2020-04-26, version 1.3.0*

The head tracker doesn’t remember the orientation of your head for longer than a second so moving your head doesn’t do very much. The app also fails to play Spotify playlists. There is also a considerable amount of noise in the sound as compared to playing directly from Spotify. There are also randomly glitches in the audio like squeaks and pops.

### 3/5 — Tem potencial

*2019-06-12, version 1.3.0*

Poderia incluir mais serviços de streaming.

### 3/5 — Sounds good but..........

*2019-04-04, version 1.3.0*

Ok. Tried this with normal cans (DT990 - no tracker). On the IOS library it sounds great but hang on a minute. Waves are renowned for there audio plugins. I’m a customer and have a fair few. Some are superb. Now if there is any place I can think of where making cans sound like speakers in a room would be an absolute godsend it would be on an IOS device. But this doesn’t seem to get that love from Waves. No AU. No IAA. Doesn’t appear on Audiobus and you can’t just switch it on to run in the background. Now waves may argue that this goes beyond the remit of a free app. Fair enough. I would jump at a reasonable in app purchase which allowed it to work with, say, GarageBand. You dipped your toe in the iOS world with some basic Cubasis in app purchases, so why not?

C’mon Waves. This could have a seriously useful and unique place in the mobile recording world. Music production is your business and this doesn’t fit. When I’m not in my multi million dollar mastering suite I’m probably on Concorde (?) en route to NYC I could use this with GarageBand and some cans. But I’m not Mick Jagger and Concorde doesn’t fly. I kind of think this doesn’t at the moment either.

Any chance?

### 4/5 — Really awesome app!

*2019-03-06, version 1.3.0*

The binaural processing works really well. Great fir checking mixes but also, very nice to play my music through. Great sound engineering tool. The transitions between songs is a little jumpy with Spotify and that’s why it’s 4 stars for now.

### 2/5 — Unnatural sound

*2018-10-29, version 1.3.0*

Sounds a bit like a comb filter.

### 4/5 — Good, but limited support for Apple Music

*2018-05-20, version 1.1.0*

Not tried this with the head tracker yet, but it certainly moves the soundstage from being ‘inside your head’ to something closer to having speakers in front.

Downsides are that there’s no iPad screen optimised version, and with Apple Music it only work with downloaded music, not streaming.

### 4/5 — Sounds great, but needs more selection

*2018-03-28, version 1.1.0*

I can choose from my music library, spotify (premium only), and a very rudimentary selection from soundcloud.

What I'd prefer is to be able to use an internet browser to listen, or a direct link to sound cloud (so I can more easily find music, since the current UI is mediocre and doesn't show liked playlists or anything like that).

Or better yet, if the app could take over the audio output somehow, so that I'd not have to deal with messy music selection.

### 2/5 — Not enough streaming services are supported

*2018-01-21, version 1.1.0*

This is an audio enhancement app, it would go well with streaming services like Tidal that allow you to listen to music or better quality, please update!

### 4/5 — Great app need tidal support

*2018-01-02, version 1.1.0*

It’s a great app, just like I use on PC
but most of my songs are on tidal, I hope it will support tidal downloaded content soon

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Erro de username

*2024-04-17, version 1.4*

Nada funciona!

### 1/5 — Abandoned

*2023-08-28, version 1.4*

Waves nx is a good product… if it worked on iOS. I’d like to see this app revived and all other nx plugins ported to auv3.

As it stands, Apple Music and SoundCloud simply do not work, probably since waves are using an old sdk which has since been deprecated.

*2022-04-12, version 1.4*

### 1/5 — Lame

*2019-10-31, version 1.3.0*

It won’t let me sign into Spotify

### 1/5 — Log in issue

*2019-07-03, version 1.3.0*

I cant login with facebook or google.
Not even can creat account !!!

### 1/5 — Falla

*2018-12-08, version 1.3.0*

### 1/5 — Tracks simply don’t play

*2018-03-28, version 1.1.0*

I tried playing tracks from all of the available sources (i.e. Spotify, SoundCloud and Local Media) and failed everytime.

### 1/5 — They force you to purchase its Bluetooth thing

*2018-01-21, version 1.1.0*

Its sad to be forced to purchase their nx head tracker for US$99. Doesnt worth it.

### 1/5 — Awesome...BUT WAIT...

*2017-08-12, version 1.1.0*

This app is absolutely AWESOME! I can't live without it. After the most recent app update, the app failed, but in less than 24 hours after I posted a negative review - it was fixed! And I spoke too soon. It plays one song and then stops.

### 1/5 — Useless

*2017-07-27, version 1.1.0*

I was trying to play a song with headphones but couldn't play it. Do you have to have the VR headtracker for this to work?

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Great experience but…

*2024-12-16, version 1.4*

We haven’t seen any updates. Headphones EQ compensation could be added

### 5/5 — Auv3 please!

*2022-11-12, version 1.4*

and playback music from folder!

### 5/5 — Free & WO WUP

*2022-04-13, version 1.4*

It’s a great product at an unbelievable price of free good job waves

*2021-07-01, version 1.3.0*

### 5/5 — Too bad it’s EOL.

*2019-09-25, version 1.3.0*

This is a very good spatializer. You must measure your head and enter the distances in the settings for best results. Too bad the devs have ended development of this app.

### 5/5 — Outstanding. Excellent transparency and coherence.

*2019-07-28, version 1.3.0*

With most music mastered for speakers, a lot of music just doesn’t translate as well. Waves NX the emulation of natural room reflections and crossfeed, you get true spatial positioning.

Testing on Focal Utopia to Etymotic ER4SR to Bose.

The app has some great touches including be able to adjust the sound of the effect which you’ll end up adjusting to taste. Want a more relaxed sound? Add some room ambience and depth.

Aside from a few ui niggles, most of the features are well thought out and smooth.

Waves has been a staple in the audio industry and it so cool to have this great FREE gift from them.

Btw - you can very much enjoy this without the headtracking but having used it, I’d say it is worth it.

### 5/5 — IN AWE

*2018-12-22, version 1.3.0*

THIS WAS JUST THE APP I WAS LOOKING FOR TO LINK UP WITH MY SPOTIFY ACCOUNT! 😭❤️

### 5/5 — Great

*2017-10-19, version 1.1.0*

Good one

### 5/5 — great app! movie app support will be game changer!

*2017-08-09, version 1.1.0*

I have this app and the head tracker! it's fantastic! I highly recommend the windows and Mac version as that can also work without the head tracker with just a camera. Movies come alive with Waves Nx

### 5/5 — Overall wonderful, however

*2017-02-26, version 1.1.0*

I really enjoy using this app to listen to music. My biggest gripe was not having Spotify support, which is here, so thank you! It is a bit quirky for me, though. I have to log out and sign back in to Spotify each time I use the app or else I get a connection error.

Other than that, it's a well functioning app! I also use the tracker in my logic recording setup. Even when just playing midi piano at my desk, it adds a wonderful level of space that is often missing when playing with headphones.

I would consider this a 4/5 star review, but I don't think the app or the team behind it deserve less than 5 stars. I look forward to seeing what you all do with this technology.
