### 4/5 — So far so good!

*2018-04-26, version 2.2*

I’ve only been using the app for a few minutes but one thing I noticed after importing my collection from discogs is that Wax automatically applies the 7” tag to vinyl that’s listed under 45rpm, when these are actually 12” records. I’d like to see a separate designation for rpm and record size if possible! Otherwise everything seems great so far!

### 4/5 — Easy to use, solid app

*2018-02-11, version 2.1*

Overall a great cataloguing app, I like that the album art is automatically downloaded and it’s quick and simple to add albums.

The one feature I’d love to see is the ability to search all songs/artists on the albums. Currently you can’t search for individual songs or artists on the albums. This would be a nice feature especially for compilation albums.

### 4/5 — A valuable tool for vinyl collections

*2017-10-19, version 1.5.5*

I’m finding the app easy to use and outstanding at finding every obscure version and edition that has ever been published. I’m also happy to know I can add my own entries for the real oddballs. My first wish for improvement is being able to browse my collection on my iPad. Someday? Secondly, after a search and after looking through the “thumbnails,” I may choose a version that turns out to not be an exact match. When I close that choice, I have to go all the way back and start my search all over again.

### 4/5 — Great Collection App!

*2017-04-17*

This is a great app to keep on top of your collection if you are a geek for music! Specially if you have more than 1 version of the same CD for example. Discogs information built into the app is a great addition too! No need to put in all the info or album covers

Improvements to get 5* - iCloud Syncing

So you can add items to your collection from different devises. Plus not loose all your collection if you purchase a new iPhone etc

**Developer response:** Hi there, thank you for the download! iCloud syncing is on the roadmap.

### 5/5 — Genial

*2017-04-13, version 1.5.1*

So was habe ich schon lange gesucht

### 5/5 — I like not having to sign in

*2017-04-12, version 1.5.1*

I tried many apps before settling on this one. Super simple to use and does what I want. I'd like to suggest a feature. Add the ability to add by record's identifier number. Most of my records are pre-barcode. The Title Album search works very well but brings back huge list to search through sometimes. The identifier would narrow that. Only bug I have is export does nothing. I assumed it would email me a csv or something but nothing happens. Fix that and this is a solid 5 star app.

Edit: You fixed the email issue! 5 stars it is.

### 5/5 — Wax ON!

*2016-01-10, version 1.0*

Simple. Effective. Perfect.

### 5/5 — Great app for collectors and enthusiasts

*2015-12-19, version 1.0*

I got this app to log my grandpops collection and it works great! Definitely worth it!!!

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Very disappointed

*2020-05-28, version 2.5.0*

I have a large record collection and I want to organize them to track what I own. I read all the reviews and was excited......but soon discovered a disorganized convoluted system nearly impossible to navigate. I spent twenty minutes looking for US releases of Springsteen.........couldn’t find them. Same with Billy Joel, Zeppelin is a hodge podge. Feels like a site dedicated to people who like to show off their imports, not organize their collection so they don’t buy “Live at Leads” on accident again....might be useful to divide releases by country within artist, or maybe I just never found out how to do this. Anyway.....

### 1/5 — Useless

*2019-04-19, version 2.4.0*

I have catalogized my whole collection in Discogs, this app is useless for me because the Discogs import does not work at all (and yes, I have set my collection to „public“).

### 2/5 — Good concept

*2020-01-27, version 2.5.0*

If you are using discogs as your primary catalog, this app is no good. Each time you import, it brings in all albums again. So it doubles, triples, etc. the look and feel is great, but definitely need improvement.

### 2/5 — Needs work

*2017-04-10, version 1.5.0*

Very limited access when scanning barcodes. The application always tells me that I cannot find the album when using the barcode scanner. It's also sluggish and slow to respond I'm using an iPhone 7, so it's not the phone. Hopefully they'll fix it in the future update.

### 3/5 — Big error!!!

*2021-06-24, version 2.5.0*

I had about 500 records on the Wax app on my iPhone. I installed it on my iPad and turned on iCloud sync, and my entire collection disappeared!!! How do I get it back? Bot sure this has been corrected before going back and trying this again. Luckily, I have since learned that my iPad still is the collection, so I have kept it offline so that it does not update.

### 3/5 — Wac

*2020-12-19, version 2.5.0*

So far it kinda works, it left a lot of titles off when I uploaded my collection from Discogs and seems to confuse artists such as howling wolf became howling wolf’s band. Doesn’t seem to be anyway to print out the collection so it looks like I’ll need to re list the whole collection rather then have a list to check entries off. Also no support seems to be available but I could of missed a link.

### 3/5 — Crashes when tipping

*2020-05-07*

I tried to leave a tip but the app kept crashing on purchase, so I guess I’ll leave this review instead. I otherwise love the design and functionality, although an iPadOS app would be nice. ☺️

### 3/5 — Pretty but a bit pointless

*2019-04-13, version 2.4.0*

The app design is nice, arguably superior to Discogs, but the app itself doesn’t solve any problems that Discogs hasn’t already. It has crashed a number of times for me and when I imported my Discogs collection, it failed to import 51 records but didn’t tell me why or which records weren’t imported. I tried to import a second time to fix this, and now half of my collection is duplicated.

There is also no continuous sync with Discogs. Since I would never abandon Discogs, keeping two apps that duplicate each other, one of which is quite buggy, doesn’t make any sense.

### 3/5 — polar bear in a snow storm

*2016-09-27, version 1.2.0*

barcode camera never works. just a sad little white screen.

### 4/5 — Sharp Looking App!

*2019-07-02, version 2.5.0*

The app looks really good, love the interface and usability. My only gripe is the search function. There is no way, that I’ve found, to filter down the search. Try to sort through to find your pressing of a Beatles or Zeppelin album! Need some sort of function to be able to filter the results down! Otherwise great app. I love the Crates idea and the random album feature!

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Amazing app for record collectors

*2021-02-26, version 2.5.0*

Also the developer is very handsome.

### 5/5 — Great app

*2020-11-13, version 2.5.0*

Easy interface

### 5/5 — Uggghh

*2020-01-21, version 2.5.0*

Constantly spins busy while scanning bar codes the first few times. Have to close out of app and try two or three times. Can't find bar codes a lot of the time. No way to fast scroll through collection...should have a letter tab at top to quickly go there.

### 5/5 — Everything I was looking for

*2018-11-23, version 2.4.0*

I had been looking for a way to keep track of my collection, by name and with pictures, but had previously come up blank. Wax does all of this, including filling in all of the info if you search for your disc; and you can search by album title, catalog number, and more. Seriously love this app ❤️

### 5/5 — Essential for music collectors

*2018-07-19*

I’ve looked for a app to digitally categorize all of my CD’s, records, and cassette and this app goes above and beyond that. With so much customization options and an easy to use UI, I would definitely recommend this to everyone looking to organize their library

### 5/5 — Totally Awesome!!!

*2018-01-07, version 1.5.5*

I love this app so much! It’s simple to use and I have no problems with it! I think that it is perfect for organizing your records! Everyone who has a record collection need to absolutely download this ASAP!

### 5/5 — Love it.

*2017-10-05, version 1.5.5*

Great and simple UI for keeping track of my vinyl collection. Would love it if I can somehow export my collection list or sync with Discogs.

### 5/5 — Great way to keep track of my vinyl collection

*2017-07-26, version 1.5.5*

I have an extensive vinyl collection and am always shopping for new records. I also have a terrible memory and a tendency to buy doubles. With Wax, this will no longer be an issue. I now have access to every record I own, so if I'm not sure if I already own something, I can pull out my phone and check the list on this app. Highly recommended for the casual or advanced collector!

### 5/5 — Great app for my personal collection

*2017-05-10, version 1.5.4*

This easy-to-use app is perfect for cataloging my record collection. I love being able to organize and annotate my albums the way I want to - highly recommended.

### 5/5 — One of the best apps

*2017-04-18, version 1.5.1*

This is a really great app for anyone with a collection of Vinyl, but u can also use it to catalog your CDs. The bar code scan is awesome (but only works on disks released with a bar code ;-), older/classic albums you need to search or enter manually. The search engine on this is lightning quick and accurate from my experiences so far (less than a second after scanning a bar code the results pop up!), which is great when scanning a bunch of albums.

The only thing I wish were different are kind of minor; rather than a round shaped pict of album art, would like to have option to display albums as round or full image, and also ability to import from clipboard or txt document. What would be really awesome is if there was a desktop app to sync with, but now where're getting into something different :-)
