### 3/5 — Good but also annoying in a bad way

*2025-03-22, version 2.3.2*

This app is helpful in a lot of ways, but the thing that ruins it for me is it forces you to do check-in’s choosing favorite lessons every third lesson or so. It is so distracting to have to select a favorite and a most difficult lesson from the last several that I find myself losing the ability to process my thoughts. This would not be a problem if the check-in’s were capable, but they aren’t. It will not let you submit without selecting things and typing in some sort of non-answer. I would seriously like to change the way I relate to food, but I’m being forced to constantly rate and review the material instead.

### 2/5 — Not fully sold

*2024-11-14, version 2.3.2*

-Some great features
-Difficult to reflect when ican’t remember some of the answers I gave which is needed to reflect
-when asked how many times a day or week, it doesn't make sense

### 3/5 — Enjoyed til tech issues

*2024-04-29, version 2.3.2*

App began glitching in different ways and since couldn’t find anyone to reach out to for help I’ve ended my subscription. If issues get resolved and I’m contacted I’d love to continue using.

### 3/5 — Want to love but needs bug fixes

*2024-02-25, version 2.3.1*

I like the UI feel and content of this app.

It’s just really glitchy. My sessions sometimes don’t save after completion or they restart. The “next session” countdown gets stuck at “next session starts in … 1 second.”

Once you scroll a few slides into a previous session, you have to scroll back out (sometimes many swipes). The quick view cuts off text.

I think the intention is great, the themes are great, the design is soothing and pleasing. The app really needs some bug fixes and navigation UX work.

### 2/5 — App stopped loading new content

*2024-02-22, version 2.3.1*

I was excited to try this app and signed up for the free trial. After about ten days, I had completed the sessions in the first three pathways that it assigned me, but no new content was available after that. After a few days of checking with no further updates, I finally just canceled the trial.

### 2/5 — Would love to love this

*2024-01-27, version 2.3.1*

Great content but glitchy like everyone said AND - there’s typos. I can’t help but question the validity of a platform (who’s in charge? Who’s reviewing?) when there’s incorrect spelling/grammar. It was going along smoothly, I was doing daily lessons for 6 days and really liked it. Then it just stopped. No more lessons. The tabs just say “pathway complete!” For the last 3 days. Frustrating because I’m PAYING for this. I’ve emailed Way twice AND messaged on instagram and can’t get a response. Close to cancellation if no one responds and it’s too bad, because this app has potential!

### 1/5 — So glitchy

*2023-12-14, version 2.3.0*

I was recommended this app by my Dr. Unfortunately, its just not user friendly and so glitchy. I’ve had to close out of the app so many times du to pages just stuck or repeating themselves. I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled and that didn’t help. I’m not getting much out of this being as the daily sessions are so short but I spend most of that time navigating glitches. The concept is great, it’s just the app is not fully functional. I have an iPhone 13 by the way. I’m canceling my subscription for now. Maybe in the future if the developer gets the bugs taken care of, I’ll be back

### 2/5 — Glitchy can’t move to day 2

*2023-11-08, version 2.2.2*

Issues with the app and pathways

### 1/5 — Only 18 sessions

*2023-10-31*

I was really annoying the app until I completed the first page of sessions (one per day). Unfortunately either there are no more sessions or the app is broken as the next screen of 18 sessions do not open.

And I bought the 1 year subscription… :(

This is either a misleading subscription plan or a broken app. Customer service has not responded.

### 1/5 — Good Idea Not So Great Execution

*2023-10-12, version 2.2.2*

Loved the idea and I liked my first six sessions. I noticed a couple glitches at first, like the paragraph I wrote about what “peace in my body” disappeared but I thought maybe I had made a mistake. After my sixth session, once I was on the second page (and subsequently the day after I made my first payment) everything stopped working. None of the buttons I clicked did anything. I reached out for help via the website and didn’t hear anything back.

### 2/5 — Not ready for prime time

*2023-07-27, version 2.1.1*

I spent less than 10 minutes with this app before I cancelled my subscription. The first exercise asks you to identify the first food rule you learned, but then quickly moves on to summarize the lesson by saying that you’ve explored multiple food rules. The next exercise asks you to identify a food scenario that you’ve experienced recently and how you felt. That one was fine. Then the 3rd exercise takes that info and tries to dig deeper, but can’t because no matter what I’ve written in the 2nd exercise, the third one tries to help me with eating while bored. Even though that’s not the issue I identified. It’s a great idea for an app but this one isn’t worth paying money for.

** Reading through the reviews I see that I’m not the only one having these problems with the app.

### 3/5 — Good concept. App needs improvement.

*2023-07-21, version 2.1.1*

I don’t get any notifications even though I have that checked in the settings. I am having a bit of trouble navigating the app. It doesn’t give any options to answer “none of the above“
on questions that are multiple choice, such as, “Which exercise did you struggle with the most?” There also aren’t enough instructions as to how to proceed through the exercises. I’m just feeling my way through and I’m not sure where I’m going. So, even though I’m finding it to be somewhat helpful in my journey to peace with food, the app itself isn’t quite what I would hope for. Like other reviewers I’ve also experienced some sentences being cut off with ellipses with seemingly no way to read the rest of the text.

### 3/5 — Has potential but isn’t App Store-ready

*2023-07-13, version 2.1.1*

I’ve been exploring ways to increase healthy eating habits to lose weight and saw Way mentioned in one of those “Top 10 Apps for Weight Loss” listicles. I’m already a member of Noom, and the principle behind Way sounded similar: basically, changing your weight by changing your relationship to food—through psychology and behavior modification with an emphasis on healthy habits. But I decided to give it a try anyway since more tools in my toolkit can’t hurt.

If you’re a current or former Noomer, the gist and focus topics in this app will feel familiar. Both take a sort of modular approach to content and conceptualize the process as a step-by-step journey or path—although Way feels pleasantly less linear and more “branchlike” than Noom.
In terms of the learning modules, I think Way’s content is more interactive, goes deeper, and feels more personalized. It’s at least somewhat responsive to my selections when it asks a question, rather than putting everyone on the same exact path in their “courses.” For example, I was asked to reflect on a recent meal and choose one from a handful of pre-written statements to describe the experience (e.g., ate with friends, ate out of boredom, ate when stressed). I liked that the next several prompts were specific to the descriptive statement I chose. It also feels less clinical and more like a long-term improvement plan for building a better relationship with food.

Where Way falls short is in its UI and content QC. Examples I’ve encountered
(1) During sign-up, the email and password fields aren’t registering as the right data type so iOS doesn’t know to suggest or remember credentials.
(2) On more than one occasion, the content hasn’t fit on my phone screen so I can’t select an option or proceed.
(3) In the first actual programmatic module, I selected the option about stress, but the next module to try an experiment said I could set a reminder if I’m not _bored_ right now but know when I might be. I think that was supposed to be “stressed”, and it also didn’t give an option for a reminder.
(4) Several other miswritten or areas of text or content that seemingly haven’t been proofread
(5) Fuzzy/non-HD images. I know these blob-people vectors are very “in” right now in app design. But the ones for this app seem low res or just “off” somehow.

Some of these things are less critical than others but taken altogether, it feels like this app was released prematurely. I don’t mind that for a free app but it’s concerning that set is charging a subscription for what feels like an incomplete app. I could really benefit from a better relationship with food as well as weight loss and I’d love to try this app sometime in the future when it’s been properly tested.

### 1/5 — Problems

*2023-06-19, version 2.0.3*

Many of the pages don’t seem to work, the problem being at the end of an experiment or question I can’t scroll down to the “next” arrow so I’m stuck on that page. So frustrating.

### 2/5 — Pretty good content, very buggy app

*2023-06-10, version 2.0.3*

While the basis of Way, mindfulness, is fantastic, the execution in this app is just OK. Additionally, the app is extremely buggy and there is no option to contact any customer service. This is a little ridiculous at $45 a month. Pass.

### 4/5 — Good in concept

*2023-05-26, version 2.0.3*

I really liked the idea of this. I would have liked more practice exercises for each concept. I felt like i forgot them as I moved to the next. Some of the writing also got cut off so I’d miss part of the information.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Unable to use

*2025-11-20, version 2.3.3*

App requires you to select a free trial, either monthly or annually, but whichever you choose it immediately says, “Payment failed”. It didn’t even run any payment— the buttons don’t function.

### 1/5 — Free trial???

*2025-09-03, version 2.3.3*

Beware. At sign up there was a free trial. I tapped the free trial button. It charged me for the annual cost immediately. Maybe at some point I had used a free trial? I got no warning. The app just chose to ignore the free trial request and charge me. That’s scummy.

### 1/5 — Wish I could get my money back

*2025-05-17, version 2.3.2*

It’s not for me. Not what I was expecting. Should have done the free trial rather than being suckered in by the discount on an annual subscription.

### 1/5 — Stolen idea done wrong

*2025-05-16, version 2.3.2*

This is a completely stolen concept that is presented very inaccurately. You’ve taken an amazing, life changing and saving concept created by some of the most amazing people (whom you don’t even name!) and no one is actually certified in Intuitive Eating and you’ve got diet culture all over it. Feeling very Noom. Concept is great but please leave it to the people who are educated in it and/or created it. Instead of a platform of sharing a wonderful thing to more people you’ve only misguided more people thus turning them off from the one thing that could provide them health & freedom.

### 1/5 — Too expensive for very little

*2025-01-08, version 2.3.2*

While the concept is nice, the pathways are short and there is no more substance to the app. What good is it long term?

### 1/5 — UNACCEPTABLE Customer Service Experience

*2024-12-23, version 2.3.2*

I’m just want to make the buyer to beware: this company has charged me for this app without receiving the free trial as advertised! I contacted them several times to complain and no response. I have proof of their advertising this promotion as well! Contacted Apple and they refuse to give me a refund as well! Completely unprofessional and terrible Customer Service!

### 1/5 — 7 day trial

*2024-09-19, version 2.3.2*

I was supposed to be in a free 7 day trial, but was charged immediately for the entire year subscription. Couldn’t find any contact information to get help getting a refund. Super annoyed.

Regarding the app itself, it’s pretty basic and simplistic on the content. Wasn’t enough content for me so I decided I didn’t want the annual subscription. Bummed the trial period wasn’t honored.

### 1/5 — Not enough content

*2024-08-18, version 2.3.2*

Two months in, and I am finished reading and reflecting on the lessons provided in the 3 pathways (Mindful Shifts, Body Feels, and Emotional Eats.)

The lessons were good, but I foolishly signed up for a year, and now what? Rehash the same content for the next 10 months? I can find no way to contact anyone at the company to answer my questions. I wish I could get my money back!

### 1/5 — Codes don’t work

*2024-05-05, version 2.3.2*

I’m trying to use a valid discount code and it consistently says payment failed error when I didn’t even get to payment option? No response from app as to why?

### 1/5 — No way in, or out

*2024-02-22, version 2.3.1*

I can’t log into the app because I can’t recall my password, and there’s no place to change or recover my password. So I can’t see if I’m being charged for a subscription, and I can’t use the app. Seriously, it’s freakin 2024 — there’s no excuse for no having a way to recover a forgotten password!

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Something different, so simple and makes total sense!

*2024-06-17, version 2.3.2*

Really loving the app so far, they’ve simplified it so well and it all makes sense. Very impressed thus far!!

### 5/5 — Finally what I needed

*2024-04-17, version 2.3.2*

For me a whole new approach to a “healthier” body. What I didn’t know was how much I needed to change my mindset and how I truly felt about my body. This app guides you through that and in such a gentle positive way. Can’t wait to continue my journey on this app.

### 5/5 — Love this. Super helpful for my journey!

*2024-01-04, version 2.3.1*

Will be using Way for a long time. Huge fan!

### 5/5 — Looks good

*2023-11-02, version 2.2.2*

Way looks like a good, and it’s pretty easy to use. I would love to use the app longer than 2 weeks, but I simply can’t afford any kind of subscription. That’s why I had to cancel my free trial. I’m Blind and disabled. Due to this, I’m on a fixed income. I will have to delete the app after my free trial end. There’s no way I can afford it.

### 5/5 — Amazing!

*2023-04-12*

I never knew how much I needed this app until I started using it! I like the different pathways and the fact that I can jump around to explore different aspects of my relationship with food. You can set your own pace - some days I do more sessions than others; the flexibility is great.

### 5/5 — Unlearning the 'Perfect' Body Image

*2023-04-04*

I never realized how much the body image in diet ads and marketing and even movies was making me feel bad about my body, like I wasn't living a good enough life because my body didn't look like that. Now I see it and how those ads were just meant to make me insecure so I would buy another diet or supplement. I'm not fully immune yet, but it feels a lot better to start examining my self-talk and remembering that my body is awesome, even if it doesn't look like some model's. Loving this app! ‌‍

### 5/5 — Loving it so far

*2023-03-06, version 1.4.1*

Questions/content/education has been great so far. Just started the free trial

### 5/5 — Great app!

*2023-01-25, version 1.3.2*

It was very helpful!

### 5/5 — Refreshing

*2022-07-21, version 1.2.0*

So amazing to finally see a nutrition app that helps with reframing thoughts surrounding food and movement. Love that I can use the sessions to check-in with myself. The sessions are like thought exercises, perf addition to my daily morning routine.

### 5/5 — Promotes Healthly Relationship with Food

*2022-04-28, version 1.0.2*

This app is a breathe of fresh air when it comes to health apps. It emphasizes making peace with food and they why behind our food choices. It doesn't demonize food but instead takes an intuative approach.
