The “X” symbol in the upper left corner simply doesn’t work; it’s dead. The only way to get out is to close the app and start over. I was attempting to get the INTERNET ARCHIVE.ORG app. The only app available to capture the icon was embedded in the “Wayback Machine”. Once downloaded, I have yet to isolate the Internetarchive.org functionality. I downloaded this app after being unable to use the normal wayback machine website due to an “unknown error”. However, once I finally got signed in and tried finding a website, it didn’t load. After trying some more and refreshing the app, it finally loaded for only a few seconds before it said I had no internet, even though I did. I typically just uninstall apps when they’re either misleading or so painfully bad that I can’t picture myself trying to use them. This particular app is a dumpster fire of ineptitude… It reminds me of something I would dream up in my younger twenties with regard to usability; the concept of UX testing never having been even a glimmer in my eye. My overconfident, ignorant youthful ambition driving me to never even consider that I’m creating utter garbage. Whoever created this has no future in software development. Quit and go find a much simpler, fulfilling career. It would save your mental health one day — guaranteed. ### 3/5 — It Works But *2025-08-10, version 2.9.6* I figured out how to get the app to work, but it is not intuitive at all. You have to save the Internet archive.org archive in the app and then it will function. ### 1/5 — Broken *2025-07-28, version 2.9.6* Can not use for intended purpose. Every time I attempt to share something to the Wayback Machine app, I get an error message that says I need to be signed into the app, which of course I was. If you want to exit a page you have to close the entire app because the back arrow doesn’t work. The only way to access it is by pressing the login app and this is the worst UI you will just go to a sign in page and there is no click to Google and when you ask for a verification, it cannot send you the email. But some issues *2022-08-02* I actually do like this app, but I do wish you could just type in the title of the webpage or just search for any words instead of having to just type in the url. But the thing I would like fixed most is for there to be a back swipe or a back arrow to go to the previous page because it’s a pain with having to click the X or having to click something else that will bring up another page.
