## What is Wayfarer Prayers?

Wayfarer Prayers is a quiet, personal companion for Bahá'í prayers in ten languages: English, Spanish, German, French, Dutch, Icelandic, Czech, Slovak, Persian, and Fijian. More than 1,500 prayers organized into categories, free of ads, free of tracking, and fully usable offline.

Read prayers aloud. Tap the play button on any prayer and a calm voice reads it for you, with each word highlighting in time with the audio. Pause and resume anywhere. Audio is cached on your device after the first play, so revisiting a familiar prayer is instant and works offline.

Find the prayer you need by describing what's on your mind. Wayfarer's on-device search understands meaning, not just keywords: ask "I'm attending a funeral for my grandma" or "I need patience with my kids" and it surfaces the prayers that fit. Prefer a literal match? Switch to Words search and type a phrase you remember. Every search stays on your phone. Nothing is sent anywhere.

Build a personal prayerbook. Favourite any prayer and it joins your Prayerbook tab, where you can browse as a grid of cards, a simple list, or a full-page reader. Long-press a card and drag to arrange prayers in any order. The order persists across relaunches.

Each saved prayer can carry its own contemplative background image. Tap the wand and Wayfarer generates a calm, abstract image tuned to the prayer's meaning, or describe exactly what you want to see. Images live on your device.

Share any prayer with a tap. The share sheet includes the full prayer text plus a deep link. Friends with Wayfarer open straight to the same prayer; friends without it still get to read it.

Everything that can be on-device is on-device. The semantic search model (Qwen3-Embedding) ships inside the app: no first-launch download, no network call when you search. Wayfarer only contacts a server when you explicitly ask for read-aloud audio or a new background image.

- Tap the play button on any prayer and Wayfarer reads it to you. Each word highlights in time with the voice, so you can follow along quietly without losing your place. Tap pause to stop, tap again to resume from where you left off.
- Cached audio. Once a prayer has been read for you, the audio lives on your device. Re-opening it later plays instantly, with no network and no synthesis delay.
- Read-aloud works in every language the app supports, with a calm multilingual voice.
- Word-level highlighting. The text lights up word by word, not sentence by sentence, so it stays in step with the voice on long prayers and short ones alike.
- Polished gear icon and tab badges so the controls feel a little more at home in iOS.
- Eight English prayers that were sitting in an "Uncategorized" bucket have been moved to "Praise and Gratitude" where they belong, so they show up where you'd expect when browsing by category.
- Several quieter improvements to navigation: the gear icon now stays put as you switch tabs, the All Prayers list refreshes immediately when you change language, and example searches in Explore appear in the language you've chosen.
