The Companion listens to Karabast's live connection to follow your game. If Safari opened that connection before the Companion finished loading, the Companion missed it — and then only tried to catch up during the first few seconds on the page. If you were sitting in a lobby at that moment, which is usually the case, it gave up before your game ever started. When that happened the game was recorded with none of its live detail, and Wayfinder had no way to tell it apart from the same game recorded by your opponent. A single match could end up listed twice. The Companion now keeps trying to catch up for as long as it is not receiving anything, so a slow start no longer costs you the whole session. This was noticeably more common on Safari than on other browsers. ### 1.22.24 — 2026-08-27 Your Protect the Pod decks are now one click away in Limited games, and a bug that could let a whole game go unrecorded is fixed. Playing Limited on Karabast? A "My PTP Decks" button now sits next to the deck dropdown in Limited lobbies. Pick a deck you have registered on Protect the Pod and it loads straight into the lobby — no copying deck links between tabs. This update also fixes a bug where a game could be played in full and never recorded. When you finished a game and were matched with a new opponent without leaving the page, the Companion could fail to notice that a new game had begun. It would sit out the entire match: nothing was saved, and the in-game notepad kept showing the turn number and card knowledge from your previous game, so it looked like it was working. The Companion now recognises the new game, and it keeps the notepad tied to the game actually in front of you — a new game clears last game's notes on your opponent and starts the turn count over. Your opponent's leader and base now show up by name in the notepad instead of reading "Unresolved". If a game is ever running without being recorded again, a warning appears rather than letting the match quietly go missing. Also in this update: the Sportsmanship badge now tells you why THIS player has it. Hovering it used to give a general description of what the label means and how it is worked out — the same words for everyone who has it, which never answered the question you were actually asking. Now it shows that player's own record: what came up in their recent games, how many games each of those covers, and when it was last worked out. ### 1.22.21 — 2026-08-25 The Sportsmanship badge now tells you why THIS player has it. Hovering the badge used to give you a general description of what the label means and how it is worked out — the same words for everyone who has it, which never answered the question you were actually asking. Now it shows that player's own record: what came up in their recent games, how many games each of those covers, and when it was last worked out. Nothing generic, just the reasons. ### 1.22.20 — 2026-08-24 Games you spectate are now credited to the players who actually played them. When Karabast hides the names in a spectator view, it labels the seats simply "Player 1" and "Player 2". The Companion had been filing those games away as though "Player 1" and "Player 2" were real people — so a spectated match could show up attributed to nobody in particular, and the actual players got no credit for it. It now recognises those labels for what they are: a hidden name, not a name. The game is recorded as having players we couldn't see, and the real names fill themselves in as soon as they become known. ### 1.22.17 — 2026-08-22 This update brings Safari up to date with several capture fixes, plus a clearer sportsmanship note on player cards. Best-of-3 sets that started as a single game are now recorded in full. When a game ended and the lobby was switched over to a best-of-3, everything after that first game used to be dropped — the set played out, and only the opening game reached your match history. Wayfinder now follows the set through the switch. Stray empty games no longer clutter your history. Opening a game and leaving again within a second or two could record an empty match with no opponent and no result. Those are recognised for what they are and skipped. Games you leave part-way through are no longer counted as played matches. They stay in your history with the decks intact, but they no longer affect your record. And the false "already under way" warning after a reload is gone. If you switched apps mid-game and came back, your browser may have quietly reloaded the page, and Wayfinder would warn that it joined late even though it had watched from the opening hand. It now remembers what it was recording, so a reload is just a reload. The sportsmanship note on a player's card is shorter and about that player.
