## What is Wayly?

wayly turns every walk, run, hike and ride into exploration. As you move through the real world, the fog clears from your personal map — revealing the streets, trails and regions you've actually been. The more you explore, the more of the world becomes yours.

EXPLORE & UNCOVER
• A fog-of-war map that clears as you move — no need to press record
• See the countries, regions and cities you've explored, and how much of each is yours
• National parks, peaks, huts, springs and viewpoints on the map, with a legend that explains every mark
• Pin your photos to the exact spot they were taken — read on your device, never uploaded

TRACK YOUR ACTIVITIES
• Record walks, runs, rides, hikes and more with GPS
• Distance, duration, pace, heart rate and a full elevation profile
• Passive tracking reveals the map even when you're not recording
• Apple Health both ways: your workouts count here, and what you record goes back there

PLAN & NAVIGATE
• Build a route on the map, with turn-by-turn detail, distance and climb
• Road signs on bike and car routes: lights, give-way, speed cameras, steep-grade warnings
• Follow long-distance trails stage by stage, and save any section as your own route
• Save waypoints and mark the places that matter

COLLECT THE WORLD
• Collect a gem for every real place you reach — waterfalls, castles, viewpoints
• Bag summits and fill peak collections, from a local massif to the Seven Summits
• Earn awards like Seven Continents and Crown of the World, and climb the explorer titles

TRIPS & FRIENDS
• Group places into collections and plan a trip with legs, days and notes
• Mark a trip you already took as done, and its route becomes explored ground
• Meet-ups: plan an outing on one of your routes and let others join
• Add friends, see them on the map, and share your live location by link
• Share a track, a summit or a whole collection as a card made for Stories

BRING IT WITH YOU
• Share a place from Google Maps, Apple Maps, Safari or a chat straight into wayly
• Share a whole Google Maps list and it becomes a collection
• Sync your activities with Strava
• Export routes and activities as GPX or FIT for Garmin, Suunto, COROS and other watches

WAYLY PLUS
• Unlimited offline maps — the free plan covers 300 km²
• Fog styles and hand-drawn waypoint art
• Unlimited collections — two on the free plan
• Live location sharing with friends

Your adventures, mapped. Start exploring — and see how much of the world is truly yours.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.1.8 — 2026-10-09

NEW
• Invite friends, get Plus: every 3 friends who join with your code give you a week of Plus, and each friend gets a week too. Weeks add up, with no limit.
• Got a code from a friend? You can enter it at the end of sign-up, or any time in your first week in Settings.
• Challenges: a screen with all of them — filter by sport, see the ones you are in, the ones you can still join, and the ones you finished. Each one you complete pays a badge.
• Huts have their own hub: one catalogue, your highest hut and how many you have stayed at. A hut now counts once you have walked to it, not only when the map banked a gem.
• Your month as a story you can share.
• Share a region or a city: the area on a real map, a night map, or as a 3D slab you can turn in your hand.
• Write to us from inside the app and read the reply in the same thread.

IMPROVED
• Awards redrawn: distance and gem awards are enamel pins now, and the trail, distance and gem awards arrive as challenge medals carrying their own icon.
• A peak list you have just started arrives sealed — rub the foil off to open it.
• Friends: incoming and sent requests, the full list, and a search through it.

### 1.1.7 — 2026-10-05

• Faster launch: the app now downloads only the activities that changed, instead of your whole history every time.
• A lighter map: tracks are drawn with fewer points, so it loads sooner and uses less memory.
• When a fuller copy of an outing arrives (from Strava, say), it now adds to the activity you already have instead of replacing it — your photos, name and caption stay.
• Deleting an activity no longer leaves the screen in a broken state.

### 1.1.6 — 2026-10-04

NEW
• Create a film from an activity: a 3D flyover you direct — the light, the weather, the camera and lens, the colour, your photos along the trail, and what the overlay shows.
• A weather style for the map: a forecast grid over the terrain, the hours ahead at any point, and a look two weeks out.
• Spoken turn prompts while you navigate — switch Sounds on in the route settings and keep the phone in your pocket.
• Import your workout history from Apple Health, GPS routes included — whatever your watch and its app wrote there.
• An explorer passport: stamps for the regions and countries you have walked into, and the day you started exploring.
• The summits you reached this month, each with the day you were there, and a card to share them.
• Share how much of a place you have uncovered: the whole area on a fresh map, your explored ground cut out of the fog.

IMPROVED
• A new welcome and sign-up: your name, a unique @nick, a photo and a short tour before the map opens.
• Signing out costs you nothing now — your activities, settings and photos wait for you and come back when you sign in again.
• A new launch screen that draws itself while the app wakes up.
• Map layers and 3D now live in one capsule, with a count of the overlays you have switched on.
• Place names are written in your language — Cyrillic names appear in Latin letters everywhere except Ukrainian.

### 1.1.5 — 2026-09-30

• Trails: routes worth walking near you, from people who have walked them. Filter by activity, difficulty and length, see them on a map, save one or download it for offline.
• Suggest your own track: open an activity's ⋯ menu and choose "Suggest as recommended". Once we have reviewed it, it goes public in Trails with your name on it.

### 1.1.4 — 2026-09-25

NEW
• An emergency screen for when a walk goes wrong: your coordinates in a form you can read out to a dispatcher, the local emergency number, how much battery and daylight you have left, the nearest shelters, and a one-tap message to a trusted contact.
• 58 of the world's great trails are now in the app, from the Pacific Crest and the Continental Divide to the Bibbulmun Track and the Nakasendo.
• A trail passport: every ~20 km of a great trail you walk earns a stamp, on a page you can fill and share, and on the map where you earned it.
• Share a track as a 3D flyover — the map tilts and follows you over real terrain instead of a flat line on a still image.
• Climbing spots on the map, and paths marked with the difficulty OpenStreetMap knows: hiking, mountain hiking or alpine.

IMPROVED
• Give your collections their own icon, and see how many people have been to a place before you.
