## What is Waypoints?

Waypoints is a travel log for the places you've found and the places you're chasing.

Save a restaurant, coffee shop, hotel, or attraction in seconds. Search Apple Maps to fill in the name, address, phone number, and website. Add a photo, your notes, a price range, and a 1 to 5 star rating once you've been. Sort everything into trips so each adventure stays together.

WHAT YOU CAN DO
• Build trips and fill them with places you want to try or have already visited
• Search for places with Apple Maps, with results near the city you're working in
• Add your own photos, notes, ratings, and price range
• See a whole city on a map, with a pin for every place
• Filter by trip, category, status, or city
• Check the weather in each city with Apple Weather
• Send a place to a friend in one tap. They get a link that opens right in their Waypoints
• Share a good-looking card of any place to Instagram, Facebook, Threads, or anywhere you like
• Export and import a backup file whenever you want
• Fold away any city's list to see all your cities at a glance
• Add up to two photos to each place, and choose which one goes on the shareable card
• On iPad held sideways, your filters sit in a sidebar next to your places
• On iPhone Duo, unfold it and your filters and places sit side by side, with the fold between them

YOUR LIST, ON YOUR DEVICES
Waypoints keeps your list on your device and in your own private iCloud, so the same list shows up on your iPhone and iPad. There's no account to create, and we never see your list.

PRIVATE BY DESIGN
No ads. No tracking. No analytics. Your places, photos, and notes belong to you.

## Version history (last 4 releases)

### 1.3 — 2026-10-31

What's new in 1.3

• Two photos per place. Add a second photo to any place, and choose which one goes on the shareable card.
• A new iPad layout. Hold your iPad sideways and your filters sit in a sidebar, with your places in columns beside them. Each side scrolls on its own.
• Safer photo editing. Removing a photo now waits until you save, with an Undo if you change your mind.
• If a photo hasn't reached a device yet, its card says so instead of looking empty.

### 1.2 — 2026-10-22

What's new in 1.2

• Fold away a city. Tap a city's banner to hide or show its places, or tap Collapse all to see just your cities. Waypoints remembers which ones you folded on each device, and a city opens by itself when you add a place to it.
• iPhone Duo: the list of places now scrolls all the way to the bottom edge of the screen.
• City banners now run the full width, so each banner lines up with the scalloped edge under it.
• A small cleanup to the App Store description.

### 1.1 — 2026-10-21

What's new in 1.1

• Made for iPhone Duo. Unfold it and hold it wide, and your list splits in two: the logo and filters on one side of the fold, your places on the other. Scroll the places and the filters stay put.
• Website links work for more places. Addresses that come back from Apple Maps without "https://" are now turned into proper links, including for places you saved earlier.
• Clearer sync messages. If iCloud can't send something right away, Waypoints now says why and keeps trying.
• A smaller logo on short, wide screens, so more of your list shows right away.
