I’m not sure when the latest update occurred, but now in order to show severe alerts and earthquakes you have to set up a new map that you can’t even make default, and said alerts it’s hard to see against the radar itself (tried different opacities but couldn’t find a good balance). The earthquake symbols are now HUGE compared to before; you can’t tell anymore at a glance how big the quake was. I wish desperately for iPhones to have an app roll back feature but otherwise I have to shout into the void here and hope for change. ### 2/5 — Ads took over *2026-06-09, version 6.2.511* This used to be my go to weather app then the ads took over and now you have wait minutes before you can see anything and sometimes twice. I use the app to check the weather… I don’t want or need an advertisement each time I change what I’m looking at. They are out of control and I cannot switch from the daily forecast to hourly forecast or radar without having an ad pop back up. The ads have also been concerning making it seem that your phone is compromised vs an ad. The latest ad now won’t even let me exit out of it making the app essentially useless. Also insane to have ads pop up when our area is under severe thunderstorm and tornado watches or warnings. I don’t want to wait for an ad to allow me to close it when a tornado warning is for where I live. Very frustrating and inconvenient! We get it everyone needs ads for revenue but there are ways to do it that don’t ruin the user experience…especially when talking about a weather app!! ### 2/5 — Shady Ads *2026-05-24, version 6.2.511* The app has deceptive ads on it now so it makes me not trust it. This makes the app difficult to use due to frequent interruptions you must wait through. The video always has the speaker off and you have to click it on for the forecast. My friend and I haven’t received Notifications for months and all the settings are on. Still no notifications from the app!!!! It worked fine for several years and everything is on to get notifications, but a big ZERO! This makes for a lot of frustration when needing to see where the rain is falling and when it will pass. Very glitchy. Yes, all of my devices and systems are up to date, and it happens on multiple devices. This used to be the app I always recommended. ### 3/5 — Slightly annoying to use, but does its job *2023-07-15, version 5.10.401* It’s handy to have an app that’s contains my local weather station’s news and forecast. Forecast is fairly accurate, including the hour by hour forecast. The annoying thing is the radar glitches out after reopening the app, forcing you to force close the app and reopen it. Other than that, a it’s a decent weather app overall. ### 1/5 — Poor *2022-06-17, version 5.4.946* Not only is the radar always wrong. But the hourly is always wrong too. It can be gusting 30 miles an hour winds and the Apple show 6 miles an hour. It’s very unreliable and sad. And I don’t know who is in charge of all the information input or radars but I thought this one would be the best one for me but it’s definitely not accurate. When I need it the most when it’s storming or when it’s going to be storming and it calls for horrific weather and then nothing happens or vice versa. I’m just done with everybody in the Meteorologist that are more interested in spreading fear and panic instead of being accurate and informative. ### 1/5 — When will it work correctly? *2022-06-03, version 5.4.946* I use to love this app. Now it almost never works. Won’t open, have to click the daily forecast several times before it MIGHT work. I brought my iPad to work so I could follow the bad weather. After a couple of minutes it made me set up an account and now I cannot see any of those weather warnings going on with any of the fox personnel. I wanted to see the live videos on the weather tracking where the tornado was going or floods, but nope, it just shows “loading” and nothing loads. I had no idea if it was safe to drive home or not. We don’t have any TV’s at work. It’s now worthless to me.
