My problem is that recently when I pull up the WDBJ weather app and click on daily or hourly, what I get is the most annoying ad for TEMU and if I miss the little x trying to delete it I get forced into some deep, dark as stream. As an individual, my thoughts don’t have much weight on a local giant’s acceptance of ‘what’s new, meaningful, appropriate and effective in advertising, but I’m very close to dumping this app even as the on air WDBJ weather remains the best in the valley, at least in my view. ### 3/5 — WDBJ7 news *2022-07-04, version 5.4.942* Used to love it but now it’s just the same exact 20 minutes of the same news 5 or 6 times a day and sometimes it carrys over for 2 or even 3 days. Uses location Without yr permission! Should be fined for this-illegal?! Btw- what good is an EQ Option when you click on for intro of exact area, it give you a bright white background with size/time?! Absolutely No Info! Don’t even get me started on the inaccuracy on weather now. Should have negative stars a it is obvious that it has purposefully become trash or you hire employees who do Not have the education to do this job correctly! The time continues to move but the picture/map freezes ### 1/5 — Too Slow *2023-09-14, version 5.11.502* The new performance update didn’t help. I timed the app from opening until I could get weather information. It took about 7 seconds. Doesn’t seem like a long time but the 10Weather app only takes one second. The weather channel only takes about 2 seconds. Also you have to have a very strong cell signal to see radar. Other weather apps will work with a weaker signal. Both these problems are disappointing when there is severe weather and I can’t get the app to work. I have an iPhone 12 Pro with 512gb memory. ### 1/5 — Too Slow *2022-04-08, version 5.4.942* Evidently WDBJ7 is more worried about ad revenue than providing a good weather app. This version takes 12 seconds to load because of ad time. Then you have more ads when you switch screens. Terrible!!!!!!!!!! Also when trying to watch video for a tornado or severe thunderstorm warning, you have to watch an ad first. Y’all need to place a priority on the weather and get your ad revenue elsewhere ### 1/5 — Update *2022-02-24, version 5.4.942* Really need to show barometric pressure. ### 1/5 — So many issues *2021-09-17, version 5.3.904* This used to be a good app, now it’s slow to open and the advertisements get data priority, loading before the forecast does, and let’s not forget the full screen pop ups. Lately, my app thinks I’m in Ecuador. I have to close and relaunch the app several times for it to show my current location, and it does this whether it’s cellular or WiFi data. If I zoom out on the map my location dot is in the correct spot in Virginia, but I get the forecast for Ecuador 🤷🏻‍♀️ ### 1/5 — Too many ads *2021-07-23, version 5.3.904* Way too many ads.
