Since the last couple of updates, it has become less useful. They have moved the current temp half way down the main page, so you have to scroll just to see the temp. This is quite annoying when you just want to quickly check the current conditions. I have started using a nation wide app. They have the current conditions at the top of the page, where they should be. Please do better and put current conditions back at the top where it belongs. The other issue is that the live radar is good, but 5 to 10 minutes behind the actual weather, even though it shows the current time. Not cool if you are out in a convertible and think you have time to make it home, but get rained on when the radar shows that it’s 10 minutes away. I’ve come to live with this, now that I have figured this out. ### 2/5 — Bank info ? *2026-06-09, version 6.2.503* Why does a weather app need my banking information,and after providing the info , still cant use the app . I’ve used this app for years . I am officially done . ### 3/5 — New updates have bugs *2026-03-26* The new update has a couple serious bugs. The first being that the thunderstorm warnings don’t overlay properly. Consistently, with the correct settings in place it will not show the proper red warning box where there is a tornado warning. All the warning boxes show as just the watch box colors and/or the orange sever thunderstorm warning box. I can go into another news station’s weather app with the same settings and see the red tornado warning box. The second issue is when I click to watch a video, two ads will be playing at the same time as if I somehow opened two videos to play at the same time. I have to click the back arrow in the video to exit out of the ad in the front to get to the ad in the back to then watch the video. Lastly, can we normalize suspending ads during serious weather events so that when I click to watch live I’m not having to sit through an ad when seconds can actually matter? ### 3/5 — App not working properly *2026-03-02* Used to be my favorite weather app but now every time I try to watch a video I am hearing the video twice at the same time. I have deleted and re added and don't help:( please help as I love you all!! But this is nerve wracking my brain! ### 2/5 — Latest update *2025-10-24* I don't care for the new layout. First, the ads take up too much space. And second, you have to scroll halfway down to see the current temperature. I don't understand why developers feel the need to "improve" the look of their apps when they were fine the way they were. Very dissapointed. ### 3/5 — Radar Subpar *2025-06-13* I can’t stand how the radar freezes constantly. Can never get a smooth 24hr scan or even a 8hr scan for that matter. The minute you do get a smooth scan that doesn’t freeze, an ad pops up then the radar resets🤣. Gotta love KY weather apps, ain’t chit ever accurate for us🤦🏻‍♂️ ### 3/5 — Problem watching videos on the app. *2025-04-18* For at least the last week, I can’t get any of the weather related videos the meteorologists post to play. I press play and I get an error message telling me that the requested video cannot be played. ### 3/5 — Latest update is not good. *2025-04-04* The app is usually convenient. Last night, when we were under a tornado warning, nothing on the app. The weather channel app had is, as well as a metro alert and sirens outside. As for the last 2 updates, it no longer looks like it does on this app page, there is a huge ad and you have to scroll down to see actual weather data. Not cool, especially during severe weather!! I will be using the Weather Channel weather app until this screwup is fixed. Do better!! ### 3/5 — Latest update *2025-03-30* I don't care for the new layout. First, the ads take up too much space. Very dissapointed. ### 2/5 — ‘maps’ does not work right on an iPhone 14 *2024-12-29, version 5.15.402* The ‘maps’ feature only shows a static ‘Past’. The arrow does not work and so time and the map do not progress over time. This feature works on an iPad Air 2 (2014) and Air 5 (2022). There’s a glitch in the Mapbox software or in how the developer (WDRB) has programmed it for the WDRB app. ### 2/5 — Radar map *2024-07-03, version 5.15.402* Will only let me see a future forecast but can't view past/current as the option is grayed out. Had to start using another app to see what I want. Please fix this. ### 2/5 — Notifications need to change *2024-04-19* While I leave my phone on silent majority of the time, I turn the sound on at night in the event of severe weather. All apps I’ve ever used had a sound as it’s notification system. This app uses a voice. Not a good idea to be asleep and hear a man’s voice wake you. As a male this startled me. I can only imagine if someone lived alone and a voice woke them up. Needs to be a sound. ### 2/5 — Poor weather summaries *2023-10-28* What vexes me most about this app is the way too concise daily forecasts. They use vaguely worded one or two word descriptions that offer no specifics. I’ve brought this to their attention in the past but it always falls on deaf ears. The Wave 3 weather app is much more specific and detailed. To the mets at wdrb, do better! ### 2/5 — Glitches when needed the most *2023-07-01* This app is what I used everyday for the temperature and when it might rain; however, the last time we had a very bad storm come through that generated tornado warnings, hail and high winds, the app completely stopped working. Now, a week later, we are under another thunderstorm warning and, before the storm is even here, it stops working again. The time people need an app like this the most is when nothing else can give them the vital information needed to stay safe. I depended on this app. Now, on top of the horrible glitches, they decided to add full screen advertisements. I’ve had this app for years but I am now going to delete it and find either another local station’s app or will get a nationwide app. I don’t know what they’ve done to this app but it has in no way improved anything. They’ve accomplished the exact opposite ### 1/5 — Every update is a disaster *2023-06-26, version 5.10.401* Tired of resetting all the overlays for the radar with every update. Also the weather radar defaults to a national view. Seriously. Not helpful ### 1/5 — Newest update needs fixed *2022-01-16* The newest update has changed the map settings. When you open the app, every single overlay/alert is turned on and you can’t even see the rain/storms on the radar anymore. You can turn them off but there’s no way to save it so the next time you open the app, they are all in again. The radar is 15 minutes slow The storms already passed you before it even tells you there is a storm. The High for today was supposed to be 79 Somehow is now 92. This WDRB weather app does not give the user the option of turning off their close captions. It should be noted the WDRB NEWS app gives the user the option of turning off the close captions but the WDRB Weather app doesn’t allow the user to turn CC off. So inconsistent between the 2 apps. Frustrating!! ### 1/5 — Beware of inappropriate adds *2023-10-16, version 5.11.501* Okay APP for weather especially for the Louisville area and surrounding region, but recently noticed adds with pictures of immodestly dressed women. I understand there needs to be revenue to support the effort to build, maintain and improve the APP, but selling out to the evil of mainstream marketing which has no moral or ethical grounding… no good. Deleted. ### 1/5 — Changes are awful *2023-07-18, version 5.10.401* I’m not sure what changed but the radar does not work anymore. It defaults to the entire country instead of zoomed in on my area. I would normally use this app for the radar to see where we are in a storm. The radar shows sunny sky’s in a complete down pour. Everything I need to know from current temperature, humidity level, hour by hour forecast, daily or weekly, it’s quick & easy. Watching the broadcasted forecasts on my schedule are great too that are updated throughout the day. Can’t recommend this app enough when you are on the go especially on crazy mornings. 😊 ### 5/5 — Highly Satisfied *2025-02-25* I’m so proud of all the WDRB Meteorologists. They work hard so we all can be prepared for our weather. They are most of the time right on it and, I, for one do not expect them to control conditions out of their control. They are always there for the viewing area and I rate them 10 out of 10. Thanks to all of you for all your hard work and preparing me for what lies ahead. Now that it has been discontinued, I have been searching for a new weather app. After downloading numerous chart-toppers, including the new Storm app, and being let down, I thought I’d give this a try and I’m so glad I did. If you’re looking for a replacement for the old Storm app I suggest trying this, especially if you live in the Louisville, KY area. ### 5/5 — Good Replacement for WU & the WU Version of Storm *2018-05-28* I’ve been on a desperate search for a replacement for my dearly departed WeatherUnderground version of Storm. I kept the WeatherUnderground app primarily for the Scientific Discussion section since they offloaded several important radar layers to Storm. With this app, I get the full, pre-Storm radar experience of old WU and I get the blog, which satisfies me for the scientific discussion. ### 5/5 — Works Great!! *2015-12-05, version 3.9.700* I've never had a problem with WDRB.
