I also appreciate the 365-day Book of Mormon devotional track, which helps me stay connected to the Book of Mormon while studying other scripture. I’ve learned many insights that enrich my personal study and often become part of our family scripture discussions. Literally every time I go to this app I get some pseudo-gospel take from some random person compensating for some less-than-ideal life circumstance in a very unique way with a very unique take on what used to be a simple gospel principle. They get so creative that they start spouting literal blasphemy, but it’s in church-speak and they’ve been “chosen” by SOMEone to say this, so they must be right— right? Yeah, no. There is some real philosophy of man mingled with these scriptures, people. ### 1/5 — Prefer the Word Itself *2025-03-27, version 5.8* Personal scripture study is personal. I have a way that has always been wondrous: Read one chapter a day twice a day, talk with God, listen, feel, Holy Ghost, linger, savor, meditate, spiritual experience, spiritual learning. I don’t want a curriculum committee to intrude my interlude with its rubrics, strictures, and canned interrogatives. Its wrong-headed, intrusive puppet-stringing never worked for me. I prefer God and HIS personal tutorials. ### 2/5 — Notifications *2025-04-16, version 5.8* So I got an interesting notification that I wanted to read more on and when I opened it, it lead me to a scripture that had nothing to do with what I was just reading, more like a click bait. Today, it said I was on the app for 19 hours and it completely ate up my phone battery. I didn’t really think it’d be useful very much. But after some encouragement from my Dad, I tried it out. It has been an amazing thing for me to do at the end of my day. It has lots of great features and can be a quick devotional or you can use the additional resources for a longer one, if you have time that day. I’m hard of hearing and closed captioning would be a huge help- obviously it would help people with deafness as well. I tried to submit this as feedback within the app, but it required me to use “mail,” which I don’t use. I’d like to be able to use whatever email I use (which is Google) to submit feedback (or a form).
