## What is We Have Wine At Home!?

Have you already tried a million wine cellar management apps? Do you want one that keeps your data locally, gives you full control over it, and just lets you log your bottles quickly and easily?

We Have Wine At Home has no ads, no private cloud. Locally stored data, optionally synchronized through iCloud to all your devices, with easy CSV import and export so you're always in control of your data. 

If you’re like me, you already know why you bought what you bought. You don’t need suggestions on what else to buy too. You just have a lot of wine and other spirits to keep track of, and want to know what you already have, how much of it, and where it is.

Wine@Home lets you track wine, beer, and spirits. In the case of wine, there’s also a cellar manager that lets you add wine cellars, customize the number of shelves/slots per shelf it has, and easily place/remove/browse the wines in your inventory on those shelves. If you overflow into boxes, the guest room bathtub, your office mini-fridge - that’s cool too. Bottle placement can be flexible.

And again, the best part - this app is free. No ads. No subscriptions. No in-app-purchases. I built it for myself. If it helps you too, I’m stoked to hear it.

### 1.0.2 — 2026-07-08

Version 1.0.2 is a huge refresh based on lessons learned as I catalogued my entire collection. Every time something felt harder than it needed to be, I stopped and changed the app to make it better. It made my cataloguing process take 10x as long as it should have, but I think it created a way better app as a result.

New Features
- iCloud sync is now LIGHTNING fast! Add a bottle on your iPhone and watch it show up on your iPad immediately. Go ahead, I'll wait. It's kinda fun.
- Added a color swatch when creating a new wine entry so you don't accidentally mark a Chard as a red
- Wine picker now surfaces your most recently used varietals first
- Added region/country field for wines
- Varietal list is now editable and custom varietals you enter are saved for future use
- Added full backup export: a zip containing your drink data (CSV), metadata, cellar configurations, and photos all in one. Regular CSV is still available but this is a more complete and still very human-friendly format that gets you much more.
- Added fuzzy-logic duplicate detection when adding bottles
- Added a "Show bottles with no location" filter that lets you quickly find and place bottles with no home
- Added a new workflow to let you move bottles from one cellar slot to another

Improvements
- Varietal list is now alphabetized for easier browsing
- Varietal input auto-capitalizes each word
- Reduced the number of taps needed to select a varietal
- Streamlined the new photo flow, so the photo now comes first, with one less step at the preview picker and you can review the image while you enter information
- Camera now defaults to flash off
- Spelling suggestions disabled across all autocomplete fields
- Duplicate confirmation dialog now shows the vintage for clarity
- Bottles with no vintage entered now display "N.V." instead of blank
- Wine list now shows year, producer, and name alongside varietal (previously just year + name)
- Improved workflow for editing individual bottles

Bug Fixes
- Fixed: cancelling the duplicate dialog no longer creates a duplicate anyway
- Fixed: cellar positions not syncing reliably across devices
- Fixed: inaccurate inventory counts between "type" and "bottle" views (including hiding inventory when no bottles are in stock)
- Fixed: "Add new bottle to cellar" workflow
- Fixed: search not working on varietals
- Fixed: some wines displaying year as the name instead of the varietal
- Added a whole bunch of missing default varietals

Polish
- "Copy to other bottles" button restyled to blue
