### 5/5 — A must-have for the 2020 election!

*2020-09-02*

I’ve been using the We Vote app to learn more about candidates and measures that will be on my ballot this November. It’s so helpful to be able to see all endorsements in one place and specifically identify how certain political organizations I follow are voting. I have many politically engaged friends so I also enjoy the features that allow you share your thoughts with friends on the app. Thanks to this app I am a well-informed voter and excited for November!

### 5/5 — So helpful!

*2020-09-02, version 2.0.0*

This app was really helpful to me as I planned out my ballot and shared it with friends.

### 5/5 — Awesome app

*2020-09-02*

I’m new to voting, and I like how I can flow through the app quickly. I like how I can learn about the candidates and see their score based on the issues I follow.

### 5/5 — The recent updates have been 🔥

*2019-07-15*

Love the new UI! The amazing work done by the We Vote team has really paid off. Keep it up! I’ll be using this for the 2020 elections for sure.

**Developer response:** Thank you for the kind words! We have just released version 2.0, with ballot data for all 50 states. Please feel free to use our new "Help" button if you have any suggestions for how we can make the app even better.

### 5/5 — Vital for Democracy

*2018-09-23*

An informed electorate is vital for democracy. And that’s why WeVote is so important. It helps users cut through the noise to focus on the issues they care about and vote for candidates who share their values.

### 5/5 — Great way to sort through my ballot!

*2018-07-16*

My husband and I used We Vote during the last election to learn more about our ballots and make some tough choices. Between clicking on various organizations that helped us sort through the confusion of what the initiatives meant, and friending each other and a couple of trusted friends to learn what they were thinking (and vice versa), we felt like we had an excellent pool of information to draw from. It was so great! At last we can do away with sorting through a million piles of paper. I am grateful for a quick and easy way to get my head around how I want to vote, and also a chance to share my thoughts about the initiatives and the candidates.

### 1/5 — Not updated

*2024-10-10, version 2.4.5*

This did not have the correct local government settings for me. Wasn’t helpful

### 1/5 — Nah, Bruh!

*2022-08-08*

We vote has designate MY gps voting district for NYS senate as being close to NYC, whereas I am in Upstate NY. As if the redistricting maps and delayed primary isn’t bad enough, on on a LINE and can’t seem to get an accurate list of my candidates through THIS app OR ballotpedia… elections are important, if WEVOTE can’t provide accurate information to the public then has it needs to be reported for interfering in elections… it’s a little sus since dtRUMP is right up in there on a main list of issues and organizations…. Idk, I’m feeling a Russian hacker/whitechristiannationalist vibe.

**Developer response:** Hello, we appreciate your caring about maintaining the integrity of American democracy, as we do. We encourage all Americans to get involved with helping keep elections run smoothly, and I am glad for your passion.

We Vote does not support or oppose any political candidate or party. We order lists of people and groups who endorse candidates partially based on number of Twitter followers, which is why you might see a public figure like Donald Trump at the top of any list of endorsers. You can choose who's opinions you want to pay attention to by following specific Values, public figures or groups.

In order to see the ballot items from an upcoming election which will be on your official ballot, you can edit your address in the We Vote app by using your ZIP code (if you don't feel comfortable adding your full address). We Vote works with publicly available "what's-on-the-ballot" data, including in some elections, data from Ballotpedia (which is a well-respected organization -- also a nonprofit like We Vote). Our nonpartisan partners who provide what's-on-the-ballot data work incredibly hard to cover the entire United States, but we cannot guarantee 100% of the items on your official ballot will be shown on We Vote. ### 1/5 — Horrible functionality

*2020-02-28, version 1.2.6*

The app has serious navigation issues. Got tired of closing and restarting to get it to return to my ballot. Needs a lot of improvement. Deleted.

### 1/5 — Address not found

*2019-11-18*

Tried typing my address in many different ways and nothing worked. Couldn’t find. I even live in downtown of a bigger city and it still couldn’t find my address. This app is a joke.

**Developer response:** We are sorry there was a problem matching your address with the earlier version of our app. We have just released version 2.0, which fixes the problem that wrecked your experience. We have data for all 50 states, and if for some reason your ballot cannot be found after you enter your full address, we now have a "Help" button so we can fix the problem.

### 1/5 — Doesn’t work

*2019-10-28, version 1.2.3*

App can’t find my voting district by address, city, or zip. It defaults me to a county I’ve never even heard of.

### 1/5 — Nice idea but

*2018-10-22, version 1.0.7*

It’s a really nice idea and the app is Kaye’s out great but it is nearly impossible to work as it constantly freezes up

### 2/5 — Sent me to the wrong polling place.

*2020-03-03*

I should have consulted my mailer, but it sent me to a deserted community park for my polling place. My actual polling place was almost half a mile away at the school district office.

**Developer response:** We are so sorry to hear that the third party polling place locator we use did not send you to the correct place to cast your vote. We are removing that tool from the next release of our app, which will be coming out shortly. Thank you for letting us know.

### 3/5 — Not very helpful …

*2026-05-19*

At one time, there was an app, of which I unfortunately no longer recall the name, that was extremely helpful concerning voting. Not only could one gain helpful, unbiased information concerning the candidates, as well as informationfrom the candidates themselves, but one could also get a sample ballot for a specific district, and mark those candidates for whom one wanted to vote. This was extremely helpful in expediting the process of filling in a sometimes lengthy ballot at a crowded polling place. Also, it was amazingly accessible for those of us who, out of necessity, use screen readers. Sadly, that app went the way of the dinosaur a couple of years ago, so I began seeking a replacement, hoping We Vote would fill the bill. Sadly, it did not. First: if you are not big into social media, are not affiliated with a specific political party, or are not involved in quasi-political organizations that support very specific issues, you get no information about candidates here. If a candidate isn’t registered specifically with We Vote, and if We Vote doesn’t have a link to the candidate’s website (if there is one), you get nowhere. As for marking candidates on a ballot: though, in theory, a sample ballot comes up, if you choose a specific candidate, it doesn’t mark the candidate’s name on the ballot, but assumes that you are supporting him/her in other ways. I am not big into social media, and neither are many of my friends; so, there is no help there. I am not involved with organizations who tend to endorse candidates; so, no help there, either. Finally, We Vote is not easy to navigate when using a screen reader. I’m sure it’s helpful for those who fit into all of the previously-mentioned categories—and who do not use screen readers—but for some of us, it is really a disappointment. And, by the way, the app refused to accept my address at first, so I’m not sure how accurate the information is that I was given, supposedly for my specific district.

### 3/5 — Amazing idea-poor execution

*2020-10-23, version 2.1.0*

10/23/20 update:still lags and scrolls poorly. Love the idea of this app

The idea of this app is amazing. Pick people , organizations, and issues you care about and see how they’ve weighed in on candidates right on your ballot. BUT the app constantly freezes up, the search function is horrendously slow, and if you try to scroll down the app slows down and the pictures move to the wrong places.

### 3/5 — Needs a little work

*2018-11-04*

I downloaded the app to find out how candidates supported specific issues that I am interested in. The app had an issue finding my voting district based on my address. It kept defaulting to a district 15 miles away. After entering my address for a third time, recognized my district; however did not show all of the races (was missing the House of Representative race completely).
I love the idea of this app, but I don’t have confidence after having these two errors.

**Developer response:** Thank you for trying We Vote 1.0 leading up to the 2018 election. We are sorry your experience was cut short. We learned after the 2018 election that there was a problem retrieving ballot data for some addresses. We have fixed this problem in our newly released version 2.0, and we hope you give it a try. We have data for all 50 states, and if for some reason your correct ballot cannot be found after you enter your full address, we now have a "Help" button so we can work with you to fix the problem.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Great app!

*2026-01-05*

I use it for each election, then bring it into the voting booth with me to remember the (sometimes dozens) of similarly named state and local propositions.

### 5/5 — Great app for voter education

*2025-09-08*

I love that I can find out who is endorsing which politician, and that I can see basic information about their platform all from my phone. Very helpful to anyone wanting to learn more about candidates.

### 5/5 — A digital voter guide for digital generations

*2024-05-23*

Quit simply; download the WeVote app, sign up, and become a far more educated voter.

No excuses; be a part of representative government or allow others to make decisions that affect you and your lived ones.

### 5/5 — Great App

*2022-10-06*

Such an useful app that makes voting easy !

### 5/5 — Best app for new and experienced voters

*2022-09-23*

Very easy to use interface — I’m a young voter and this made it significantly easier to find candidates that represent my values. The app allows you to follow issues you’re interested in. It also facilitates discourse about elections amongst friends so I highly recommend to any new voters who are looking for help navigating voting. Even if you’re experienced with the voting process, it’s great for keeping track of candidate positions and endorsements!

### 5/5 — Very User-Friendly App

*2020-09-08*

I love how easy it is to view my ballot through the app. I recommend this app to everyone, especially in time for the Nov 2020 election.

### 5/5 — Glad for my friends to know an awesome friend/candidate I’m supporting

*2020-09-05*

Glad for my friends to know an awesome friend/candidate I’m supporting.

### 5/5 — Finally a way to see my ballot!!

*2020-09-04*

I live in California and have been so frustrated by how difficult it’s been to learn about my local candidates and ballot measures. This app is awesome!! I can finally feel like I know who I’m really voting for and what elections are coming up. I tried this app before and it had some glitches, but now it feels really smooth and I loveee it. 60 days till the election lets go 👏👏👏

### 5/5 — Best Civic Engagement App

*2020-09-03*

We Vote makes voting for candidates simple. Voting for candidates, especially local candidates, can be confusing and tiresome. We Vote fixes this problem by allowing you to take control of your vote. You can choose what values you support and even follow public figures whose opinion’s you agree with. We Vote then gives a personal score to each candidate based on the values you chose. This streamlines the voting processes and allows you to confidently fill out your ballot.

### 5/5 — Excellent app!

*2020-09-02*

We Vote has been excellent at helping me organize my ballot and view endorsements, particularly as the election quickly approaches and there have been so many changes due to COVID-19. It is very user-friendly, and I greatly appreciate how easily adaptable it is to my needs.
