It gives me so much peace of mind being able to see the specific paths and not just the general vicinity of the storm like most other apps. ### 5/5 — The best *2021-06-25, version 1.4.2* I’ve use this app on the East Coast to the Midwest. Reliable and has informed me even before the alerts went off in my area. I keep it on in the background. Number one in my book. **Developer response:** Thank you for the kind words. WeathAware can never make claims to be the best weather app ever but what it does do quickly is let you know if you are in danger based on the NWS warnings. Kind of your first-pass-filter. In the INTEL community they call it actionable intelligence. 👍😎 ### 4/5 — New to Texas *2021-04-29* I just experience my first tornado warning but it was for my daughter and family listed as a friend in my app. I was able to find out right away if they were okay and in a safe place but I couldn’t figure out what all the things displayed on my screen! What are the green circles that were going over her house??? What were the dark blue areas?? More explanation would be helpful. **Developer response:** Thank you for the feedback! You know when that friend asks why you didn’t respond to the email/ text they sent but you are certain you did? Well, I really meant to put that into words somewhere. Basically the moving green circle on the map is an estimate of the location of the cell given the initial position, speed, and direction. The blue areas are the estimated path and uncertainty cone around the estimated path. Also while I’m on the subject, the compass has numbers and colors in the upper left (time)and upper right (distance) related to the “darker” blue path mentioned above. Time and distance are to the estimated point at which the cell would be closest to you. The colors behind the numbers on the compass page red/yellow/green and generally mean bad/caution/good. I really need to do a video and describe the meaning behind everything. The color coding of the compass numbers was my wife’s idea. 😊 I guess to sum it up, I’d told all my friends here in Alabama so many times during the development that it slipped my mind. Too bad. It used to, and it was great. But I just sat through multiple tornado warnings all morning in my area and the app showed nothing on the map, and gave no alerts. **Developer response:** This problem was fixed. Thank you. 😊 ### 5/5 — Faster Than Local WX Coverage *2020-04-19* The app’s purpose is to keep you safe in dangerous weather conditions, like the South has been experiencing a lot recently. I got a tornado warning from this app two minutes sooner than I did from our major Atlanta weather team (WSB-TV). TWO minutes could mean the difference between life and death in a severe weather situation. The app is straight forward and effective. Check it out; it could save your life. ### 5/5 — Great app! *2017-03-21* Living on the west coast of Florida, we are always having squall lines blow ashore. I like to know if a big cell is headed my way, but they can sneak up on you...sunny on one side of the house, black on the other. This app gives warnings, projected storm paths with CPAs and tells me the exact info I'm interested in. Perfect! **Developer response:** Just realizing I could reply. Thank you! The newest versions, Lite 1.4.0 and Plus 1.4.0, are out and hopefully more useful. I think closest point of approach (CPA you referenced) is one of the unique aspects of WeathAware that most people don't realize exists in WeathAware's Compass view. Maybe I should accentuate that? ### 1/5 — Paid app with ads.. *2015-03-26* Looks like a decent app but the fact that I bought the paid version and it has ads has me a little disgruntled. You can now add Friends using the address from their contact information or using the map pinning feature with a searchable map. Some of the interfaces got changed for the better to make them more intuitive. Deleting a "Friend" is just a simple button that asks if you are sure you want to delete the contact. WeathAware now has a radar layer available on the maps! ### 1.4.2 — 2019-09-21 Fixed an issue with the Demo Mode where the map resizes during a position update after zooming. Also fixed the message that would let you know when the data wasn't available from the provider and the Friend multiple address selection spinner. The compass is on all the time now. Also some minor bug fixes. ### 1.4.1 — 2018-04-20 Minor change to the Demo mode. It was apparent the Demo mode should now operate the same way the real warnings work. When you touch the Demo button, based on the Warning Display selection in Settings, the screen will change to either the Map (default), the Compass, or the main screen. ### 1.4.0 — 2018-04-03 Small interface change and a small bug fix. Added the ability to automatically switch the view to your choice of the Map or Compass when you receive new warnings from the main view (My Warnings button). Added "Warning Display" in Settings menu for selecting the view to display when new warnings are received in the main view. Also fixed a crash bug in Friends menu that occurred if the user tried to select a contact that didn't have an address but had the latitude/longitude in the notes section of the contact selected. By the way, that's a very nice feature if you can't get the address to resolve to a point.
