### 4/5 — On a trajectory to Perfect

*2020-01-26*

I’m a Pocket Weather AU refugee. Initially I jumped to Snowflake, but by eyes didn’t appreciate the tiny text and info dense UI.

Perfect is fast becoming my perfect weather app. It is visually simple (but appealing), while still proving the information I care about (and an increasing degree of customisability with each update), and data is derived from the BOM. Access to the rain radar is novel but intuitive.

The privacy policy is super transparent and easy to read, in stark contrast with many snoopy weather apps.

The developer is open to feedback, and the app has a screen where you can vote on features to be included in future updates. It shows a commitment to improvement, and as such I’m a happy subscriber.

At the moment Perfect might be slightly too simple for data hungry power users, but it is fast improving; on a trajectory to becoming my perfect weather app. ✌️

### 1/5 — Doesn’t honour subscription

*2022-09-23*

Purely 1 star because I took a subscription for full functionality and I am unable to restore purchases for the last 4 weeks. In summary, the developer received my money and I received nothing. I’m considering it a donation at this point. I want to warn other users of this app to ensure the same doesn’t happen to you.

I’m not that cynical, maybe it’s a bug or maybe something else. Who knows. I’m just not happy when I pay for something and I don’t get it.

Otherwise it was a beautiful app and useful as well but the above makes this a moot point.

Thanks for reading

Richad

Ps I canceled the subscription even though it’s still valid for a short period but I won’t give them more money for nothing.

### 1/5 — Super buggy

*2020-01-02*

Just wasted money on an app that doesn’t work. I have force quit a few times and no data is loading. Just getting a screen with placeholders only.

I thought I had found a potential replacement for Pocket Weather (although it has a long way to go in the detail department). However, it has proven to be too buggy and not quite worth the payment.

I will be requesting a refund and will be forced to use the confusing BOM app instead.

**Developer response:** Hey, would love to know if you're still having issues. If you want you can reach out at support@collect3.com.au. Thanks!

### 2/5 — I used to love her, but...

*2021-02-08*

For an app which relies on location so much, that it’s basically stopped working with location information over the past couple of weeks has made using the app frustrating.
Repeated, unsuccessful, efforts to contact the developer to see if this is a known issue and if a fix is ever likely to come (its four months since the last update) means that I’ll need to find an alternative and not renew my subscription this week.

### 3/5 — Always prompt for upgrade even after purchase

*2021-09-23*

I have to abandon this app. Even after upgrade, the Apple Watch complication occasionally stopped working and prompt me to upgrade. Contacted the author but received no reply. This app has not been updated for almost a year.

### 3/5 — Very good Oz weather.

*2020-12-30*

Very clear presentation and great widgets of Australian data. I have paid for a subscription for the past year to support this app.

Now I have a new Apple Watch, and I’m hoping for many, many more complication options from this app. (I’d especially love to have the five day forecast in the large centre slot of infograph modular.)

Before subscribing again, I’m also hoping the developer updates the privacy info in the App Store. Weather apps have become notorious for on-selling users’ location data to dodgy third parties. I hope that’s not a problem here.

### 3/5 — Application feedback

*2020-06-05*

I purchased the full version today but the watch weather complication is not showing. Can you please fix that? I cant seems able to pick it up only the default apple one is there.

Also the font is too big on iPhone 11 pro max screen size.

### 3/5 — Almost perfect

*2020-02-09*

Pocket weather was fantastic and needed a replacement. The UI is great, nice looking app and works really well. Would have paid $15 for it, but the yearly subscription for that much is ridiculous. $5 and maybe it’s subscription would be justified. I know the BOM API costs money, but not that much. Will continue to use the free one till someone makes something more reasonable.

### 3/5 — Not quite

*2019-12-31*

I like the simplicity and the clean interface. The temp and rain slider at the top is a great feature, it just feels like it needs a little work - like being able to go back in time a little would be nice.

The scrolling feels really off because it's not the same inertia scrolling as commonly used in iOS.

The app also crashes quite a bit, so I don't think I could pay for it at this point.

**Developer response:** Hey, thanks for the feedback, definitely taken onboard. We'd really like to look into the crashes you might be experiencing , so please contact us at support@collect3.com.au if you get a chance. Cheers.

### 4/5 — Great potential...

*2022-02-08*

With so many weather apps around it's been difficult to find one to match up to Pocket Weather (rip). Weather Perfect has the potential to become its equal. The design is clean, simple and pleasing on the eye. The recent addition of the Watch app is a plus and is also stylish. Having BOM data is great for Aussie users. I have gladly subscribed for the year to help support the app. Thanks to the developer. Looking forward to more features in the near future. A watch complication would be greatly appreciated. More stars to come. Glenn UPDATE: Another 🌟 added for watch complication! Thanks David

Request for 2022. Can we get a dedicated iPad perfect weather for 2022 thanks

**Developer response:** Thanks Glenn! Have lots planned for the app, so hope to tick off the features you're looking for soon. If there's anything specific you're keen to have in the app let us know at support@collecte.com.au.

### 4/5 — Finally an accurate weather widget for Oz

*2020-10-20*

Just subscribed as I could not find a clean good looking weather widget for iOS 14 that was actually accurate for Australia. Great to see this one! Only issue is the widget isn’t showing the extra details - the secondary info, nor the tomorrow info on the small widget. Would also love a dark mode widget in future.

### 5/5 — Clean, minimalistic UI

*2021-04-22*

Very clean and minimalistic UI - especially liking the pastel colours throughout. Would like to see Netatmo weather support added in the future as the nearest BOM weather station is several kilometres away.

### 5/5 — Love this app

*2020-08-29*

Since the sad demise of Pocket Weather, have tried several apps, with frustrating results. And now I think I’ve found ‘the one’. Look, I don’t need fancy stats or technical info, just temperature, rain, radar, wind, maybe UV, and a complication on my watch face. Perfect Weather does all this with a lovely clean interface. Very happy to pay the $US15 per annum for all this. Thanks, guys.

### 5/5 — This is the Pocket Weather replacement you‘re looking for

*2020-05-25*

Title says it all, really. Pocket Weather leaves a huge legacy of Australian weather app design, this app picks up that legacy and takes it into 2020.

The layout is clear, intuitive, and is full of nice touches.

It’s customisable enough to be helpful, but doesn’t overwhelm you with a gazillion options like some other weather apps do.

Well worth the subscription price to support an independent small developer!

### 5/5 — Great app!

*2020-02-08*

I installed Perfect Weather when Pocket Weather AU turned off their servers. This is without a doubt the best alternative I could find. It only took a day for me decide that committing to the subscription was totally worth it.

The UI is super clean and well designed. The data is straight from the BOM, and the radar is fantastic.

Looking forward to more features being added in the near future.

**Developer response:** Thanks, great to hear you're enjoying the app.

### 5/5 — Best Australian Weather app

*2020-02-01*

Would have got 5 stars but the top chart is a bit hard to process compared to other apps like Weather Line (mainly because of the dynamic coloured background and lack of clear labelling). I was sad pocket weather closed down but this is far better in most regards.

### 5/5 — Most promising weather app

*2020-01-31*

I had been on the search for a new weather app that uses BOM data for awhile when this popped up on my radar. It didn’t tick all the boxes at first but I was drawn to it by the excellent UI and icon (Both very important to me) and I’m glad I did. No regrets in paying for a yearly subscription. The developers are so quick to add new features and have a great feedback and voting for new features system that keeps me looking forward to every update.

### 5/5 — Great Potential

*2020-01-26*

Fantastic app and the latest update with detailed wind timeline was one of my biggest requests. I’d love to see the scroll friction on the main page reduced to match the individual daily pages, so you can quickly with one swipe get to the bottom but that’s a small gripe ☺️

Also on the main page under the temperature it would be great if we could display a couple of details instead of having to choose one.

### 5/5 — Great weather app

*2020-01-09*

Took me awhile to find “round units” in the settings to turn it off, despite it being a very clear and simple setting. But that’s just me :) now I can see it’s 41.7°C
Anyway the app is super fast and clean, has the info I need, and is actually designed nicely to be enjoyable. The app also has a voting feature where users and pick what future features they’d like to get attention. Fantastic! Worth paying the small premium subscription for. Remember that BOM charge 3rd parties to use their data, one reason why Pocket Weather and other weather apps have gone away. If you want a great weather app to survive in Australia, I think this is it - try it yourself and support the app if you like it.

### 5/5 — Simple and clean UI

*2019-12-18*

Love the UI on this weather app. Clean and easy to use. There are quite a number of features I would love to see added in future updates. Such as hourly times on the line graph with wind speed, more times at the bottom of the Rain, Wind and UV graphs and a setting option to place the ‘Conditions’ info above the ‘This Week’ info.
The yearly subscription of $15 per year is quite high, but I understand BoM data does not come cheap. A great replacement for Pocket Weather. Great early release.

**Developer response:** Thanks! Great suggestions, have added them to the list and will keep you updated once we have them or an equivalent feature in the app.
