First, as I am blind and access my iOS device through Apple's built-in screen reader called VoiceOver, an app must be accessible to VoiceOver users. Second, I require that any weather app I use get its forecasts directly from the National Weather Service--simply because NWS forecasts are the most accurate available. Weather Simple fulfills both of these requirements and does so very well. The developer is also very responsive to questions and feedback. ### 5/5 — Weather reporting....does it get any better than this? *2016-03-16, version 1.3* Tremendous app. Uses the most accurate data from NWS. Font is easy on the eyes. Starts up quickly. Comprehensive and yet oh so......"SIMPLE". What are you waiting for? It would be better if it was for Ipad OS but if she can use it to read to her, that would work--but I can't even try it to recommend to her. ### 1/5 — 2.0 Broken for Me, out of the gate... *2018-04-06, version 2.0* App says “Weather information is not available for your location”. Tried it via ‘current location’ AND by zip code. Nada. I’m in Chicago. Should not be too hard. ### 1/5 — Don't waste your money *2017-01-06* I purchase this apps base on the reviews but is not accurate at all. Like right now this apps said 60% rain and snow and I went outside the sky is clear. No rain or snow. This won't even load on a iphone 7 plus. ### 2/5 — Voiceover can’t see current conditions *2020-10-20* I normally do not send feedback like this through the review system but it is a last resort as my attempts to contact them via email failed. Unfortunately this application has had an issue for quite some time where voiceover is not able to see or read the current conditions from the top of the page. The forecast elements all work perfectly and so does the sections where you can add or remove locations but unfortunately even though you can visually see the current conditions for an area to voiceover they do not exist. Even attempting to manually move your finger over the area where they are located results in no feedback from the screen reader. If this could be fixed it would definitely be once again a 5 star app, but until this happens I cannot recommend it for those with visual impairments. ### 2/5 — Hardly works anymore *2017-07-06* Used to love, but hardly connects to the internet anymore. And also can't find downtown Chicago, Illinois. Big glitch? ### 3/5 — Weather app *2015-10-28, version 1.3* Great app just needs widget ### 4/5 — Great, but... *2019-02-23* I’ve been using this app for years and really enjoy the simple interface compared to all the clutter found in other weather apps. I frequently recommend this app to others. However, on far too many occasions the app struggles to load and constantly displays the following error message: “Data request time out.” When this happens, the app essentially becomes useless. It seems like a problem with finding a user’s location, connecting to a server or something along those lines. The weather for today is written out in a nice sentence. Other detailed surround it. Scroll down to get long term outlook. This app makes finding out the weather fun. I'm glad the developer made this. I'd give it an extra star if it had a dark theme. Note I don't let this use me GPS. I manually add locations. App is also very accurate. ### 5/5 — Best weather app !!! *2016-11-16* No more guessing what the weather is going to be from numbers, this app finally puts the current weather and forecast into words. It's so well designed and intuitive. I love how I can just read a quick blurb instead of having to scroll through the whole day of temperatures like other crappy apps. I check it once a day and I'm all set. Such an elegant design also.
