Weather4D Routing & Navigation integrates weather forecasting, routing calculations, navigation with digitized raster charts, instruments and data sharing to maximize your boating experience.

Navigation
See SOG, COG, VMC, HDG, TWS, AWS, ETAs, ETWs, AIS data and more in real time along with weather and routing information with a wifi connection to a transponder. 

Store your charts on your device for offshore/offline navigations.

Set the screen to night mode after sunset to better see what’s happening outside during your watch.

Set alarms to alert about excessive XTE, course deviations, surrounding boats, excessive wind speed and low depth.

Take advantage of the iPad/iPhone built in compass, pressure and acceleration sensors.

Connect bluetooth devices like wireless anemometers and wind vanes.

Share AIS and boat sensors data like wind, current, pressure, air and sea temperature within the Weather4D users community.

Activate Man Overboard safety feature to estimate drift and thus rescue location based on current and wind.

Weather
View combined weather data displayed in 3D HD layers animated automatically or manually by sliding a finger on the screen.

Use GFS model to get started.  In addition, over 35 weather and oceanographic models are available with a yearly subscription (in-app purchase).

Create your own geographical zones, select the models you need and download only the characteristics that matter to you: data type, resolution, periodicity, file size, etc. GRIB files can be downloaded anywhere through a regular or satellite internet connection.

Split the screen (iPad only) to combine and/or compare: navigation and weather, weather and waves or currents, two weather models…

Routing
Routing calculation optimizes for safety, comfort and performance when sailing, motoring, or mixing the two.

Create a route and calculate its associated routings in function of departure dates/times, forecasts (weather, wave and current), minimum sailing speed, motoring speed, boat polar, maximum wind and minimum distance to the coast.

Visualize sail configurations based on your routings and your own set of sails.

Save waypoints, locations, simulate routes, combine them with GRIB forecast models.

Restart a routing calculation at anytime from the actual boat position.

### 5/5 — L’application immanquable pour tous les marins

J’utilise Weather 4D dans le cadre d’un tour du monde, avec des navigations exigeantes en Amérique du Sud, dans le Pacifique, bientôt l’Indien. Cette application est mon compagnon de tous les jours, tant sur la partie cartographie (+ ciblage AIS, suivi des données du bateau, etc) que sur la partie météo et routage. C’est une application particulièrement complète, qui demande un peu de temps de prise en main pour la connaître dans ses moindres recoins… mais le jeu en vaut vraiment la chandelle !

Je ne comprends vraiment pas pourquoi elle n’est pas davantage utilisée par les marins, surtout ceux qui font de la croisière. Je l’ai même vue utilisée en Antarctique. C’est du sérieux, c’est bien fait, en plus c’est français. Allez y les yeux fermés (mais rouvrez les ensuite rapidement) !

Je ne peux que dire des choses positives sur cette application qui rassemble la cartographie et la météo. C’est devenu mon compagnon de route indispensable pour mon tour du monde. Cela fait 4 ans que je l’utilise, en Europe, Afrique, Amérique du Sud, Pacifique… l’application demande un peu de temps à prendre en main, mais une fois que vous êtes habitués, impossible de revenir en arrière ! Bravo aux développeurs.

j’ai téléchargé la carte Imray west méditerranée, et certaines parties de ma carte (îles du lerins par exemple) n’apparaissent pas correctement. La moitié de l’île est bien représentée, et l’autre moitié apparaît de façon très grossière. Quelle est la solution svp ?

Excellente application, tant pour la cartographie (j’utilise le SHOM, les cartes du Brésil, de l’Espagne, de l,Argentine…) que pour le chargement des GRIBS et le routage. Ce n’est pas compliqué de se créer et importer ses polaires, tout l’interface est assez intuitif et simple. Un très bel outil, qui de plus est soutenu avec compétences et dévouement par Francis FUSTIER via son blog et ses conseils. Un must pour la navigation en voilier 👍🏻

Dépense de 64 euros pour rien ! Les cartes selectionnables en suivant le manuel ne sont en réalité pas disponibles. Le manuel indique : Réglage de l'écran, carte seule et la vous voyez que déjà vous n'avez pas les mêmes options.  Ça revient à faire du bateau avec Mappy... Au secours.

Trop cher pour une appli qui ne tiens pas ses promesses, seulement gfs c’est franchement abusé de rajouter encore 50€ pour tout les modèles et sans compter qu’il n’y a pas une seule cartes dans le package. 
Les cartes du shopping sont en accès libre mais la il faut payer etc…
C’est du vole à ce prix là.

Leider werden oft Daten runtergeladen, sind dann aber zur Ansicht oder zum Routing nicht verfügbar. Auch wenn man wiederholt Daten runterlädt, werden diese nicht angezeigt. Bei einer so teuren App sollte das nicht vorkommen. Wenn man auf See ist und jedes GB extra bezahlen muss, ist dies echt ärgerlich. Zudem gibt es für ECMWF keine Böen und keine Wellen. Zur Planung längerer Strecken bleibt deshalb nur das GFS-Model, dies ist wirklich schade, da gerade für Böen aus meiner Erfahrung das ECMWF-Modell genauer ist. Da werde ich doch wieder zum teuren PredictWind wechseln.
