## What is Weatherboard?

Weatherboard is a calm, readable weather app for iPhone. Open it for a fast answer, stay for the detail underneath.

WHAT YOU GET

Current conditions, the next 24 hours, and a 7-day outlook on the Today screen, with an extended forecast reaching 15 days where the data supports it.

The details without the meteorology degree. Wind and gusts, UV index, humidity, visibility, pressure, cloud cover, precipitation and air quality, each with a plain-English note on what it means for your day.

A weather map you can actually explore. Animated precipitation radar, satellite cloud cover, storm tracks, and wildfire markers drawn from NASA EONET and NASA FIRMS. Pinch and drag like any maps app.

Official alerts where they're available, so you hear about severe weather from the agency that issued it.

Saved places, so you can keep an eye on home, work, and wherever your people are.

A home-screen widget in two sizes, with five hand-painted backgrounds or an Auto setting that matches the current sky.

HAND-PAINTED, NOT GENERATED

Every weather condition has its own watercolour illustration, including separate artwork for night. It's a small thing that makes the forecast quicker to read at a glance.

PRIVACY BY DEFAULT

No ads. No advertising identifiers. No account to create. Saved places and preferences stay on your device.

Location access is optional. Turn it down and search for any place by name instead.

A NOTE ON SAFETY

Forecasts, alerts, wildfire reports and air-quality readings are informational, and they can be delayed or incomplete. When your health, travel or safety may be affected, check with your local authority and follow official instructions.

Weather data provided by Open-Meteo. Radar imagery by RainViewer. Wildfire data from NASA EONET and NASA FIRMS.

Weatherboard got a new face.

Hand-painted weather icons
Every condition now has its own watercolour illustration instead of a system symbol. Sun, cloud, rain, snow, thunderstorms, showers and tornado warnings each got their own painting, and they show up on the Today screen, the 7-day outlook, the map and the widget.

They know when it's dark
Clear, partly cloudy and cloudy conditions have their own night versions, so a clear night shows a crescent moon rather than a midday sun.

Pick your widget's background
Long-press the widget and choose Edit Widget. There are five watercolour backdrops to choose from, or leave it on Auto and the widget will match the sky: dusk when it's raining, a warm wash around sunrise and sunset, bright blue on a clear afternoon.

Temperatures fit again
On the small widget a reading like 23° could get cut off to 2 with an ellipsis. It now scales to fit instead of truncating, in Celsius or Fahrenheit, above or below zero.

Share the forecast as a picture
The Today and 7-Day share buttons now hand over a real image, so Instagram, Threads and anywhere else that expects a picture will accept it instead of pasting a link.
