### 2/5 — Trop de notifications inutiles

*2026-07-02, version 2.6.0*

### 2/5 — Lacking information

*2026-07-02, version 2.6.0*

Temperatures are fairly accurate, but it’s lacking lots of specifics for future days and other features, rendering pointless when compared to other apps.

### 4/5 — No LOCK Screen widget…!?!?

*2026-06-28, version 2.6.0*

App is great with one HUGE feature missing. How is there no LOCK screen widget in iOS26. And no in not talking about HOME screen widgets. And yes, they are different. I simply cannot understand how there’s no LOCK screen widget, which in my mind is a huge omission. Please add this ASAP.

### 2/5 — Radar bien moyen

*2026-06-25, version 2.6.0*

Triste de ne pas voir les radars tout le temps. Souvent cette fonction est non disponible. Ça fait 4-5 mois que c’est comme cela. Il pourrait aussi projeter dans le futur les radars pour mieux planifier nos activités

### 2/5 — It’s ok

*2026-06-20, version 2.6.0*

Update, ridiculous, when I open the open the app it keeps showing me the weather in a town an hour away. It says current location yet I’m nowhere near this smaller town…..It seems like it may be not to bad but it doesn’t always seem to be accurate when I compare it with other apps. Probably doesn’t really matter though considering how they are always wrong with their predictions. It seems they are never wrong in a good way either. Weather always seems to be worse than what they say it will be.

### 4/5 — No ads or other garbage

*2026-06-17, version 2.6.0*

I did prefer the more straightforward older design, but the app still does what it should.

It would be better if the radar map would project forward in time, and if the forecast and hourly forecast included the amount of rain predicted to fall each hour. How much and how hard it’s expected to rain is let information

### 4/5 — Most accurate one so far

*2026-06-09, version 2.6.0*

I would give it 5 stars if I could zoom in more

### 2/5 — App needs updating

*2026-06-07, version 2.6.0*

The app will a crashing a lot lately

### 2/5 — Frustrating

*2026-06-02, version 2.6.0*

It works well enough but I don't use it anymore because it has an inbox that fills with notifications and you can't empty it other than to open every last article in it

### 3/5 — Needs work.

*2026-05-25, version 2.5.0*

Get rid of the messages as no one wants or reads them. The app doesn’t work well with VPNs. I’m in Canada and have my vpn set to Canada but it won’t let me in. When i set it to India it will let me in. Go figure. There is severe lag time when you press the radar map.

### 2/5 — Limited and messy

*2026-05-20, version 2.5.0*

Very little info and messy UI. It’s like it was put together on a rush and without attention to detail. Such a shame that this IS the official Canada weather app.

### 3/5 — Like the app, not the messages

*2026-05-15, version 2.5.0*

I like the app, overall.
I do not like, nor understand the need for, the messages feature. I find the constant red ‘new messages’ notification in the app very distracting.
If the messages were not part of the app, I’d give it 5- stars.

### 2/5 — App sticks, not always working

*2026-05-02, version 2.5.0*

I have used Environment Canada’s Weather app for several years, however it is inferior to the computer laptop version.
The app has a tendency to stick. This morning it was stuck on Fridays weather despite it being Saturday. It would not update. So I deleted it, a planning to reload and refresh it. Now spake wants me to pay for what is a free service!!!
So I guess I will stick to the Free laptop version.
FYI - their Enviro Canada’s Lightning page is really slow to update ongoing storms. When I try to track lightning strikes, it only updates every 30 minutes! Yet my Lightning app from a private company updates every couple of minutes!
The iPhone app needs some work!

### 2/5 — Inconsistent info display

*2026-04-15, version 2.5.0*

Yoooo, we need the wind chill!

### 2/5 — Texte trop petit

*2026-04-09, version 2.5.0*

### 4/5 — map reports 👍

*2026-04-04, version 2.5.0*

love the mini reports for monthly and seasonal.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — This app has been out for so many years but the UI hasn’t improved at all. Still.

*2026-04-27, version 2.5.0*

I want to get my weather directly from Environment Canada, but the interface of this app makes it so unpleasant to use that it’s impossible to stand it as my daily weather app.

I don’t need fancy animations or glossy graphics, but I do need the app to be intuitive to use and not look like a website I coded in 1999. What’s really unfortunate is that after years and years of its release, tons of similar feedback being given, and a consistently poor rating in the App Store, this app has not improved in any way.

I used to keep this app installed to double check the weather data against the default Apple Apple Weather app to ensure it’s correct about things like wind chill or humidex—I don’t anymore. I checked the Apple website and they get their weather data from Environment Canada. So now that I know the data source in the stock Apple Weather app is the same as this poorly made app there is literally no reason why anyone should use it who owns an iPhone or iPad or Mac.

Hopefully Environment Canada fixes things up and realized user interfaces matter and makes this app usable and decent, but given the years of neglect they’ve shown it, I doubt they will.

### 1/5 — Useless no longer works on iPad - iPadOS 26.3.1 (23D8133)

*2026-04-27, version 2.5.0*

Useless no longer works on iPad - iPadOS 26.3.1 (23D8133)

### 1/5 — Map not working

*2026-04-22, version 2.5.0*

Why does the precipitation map keep saying N/A ?

### 1/5 — Awful

*2026-04-20, version 2.5.0*

I can't display weather on my home page for cities of my choice 🤯 Nope, I don't want to have location sharing on.

### 1/5 — Not working

*2026-04-16, version 2.5.0*

Not very up to date

### 1/5 — Imagine

*2026-04-09, version 2.5.0*

Imagine discontinuing Weatheradio Canada for this app. Uninstalling.

### 1/5 — Why???

*2026-04-05, version 2.5.0*

Unable to download to my iPhone!!

### 1/5 — WeatherCAN’T! It’s Illegible

*2026-04-02, version 2.5.0*

Weather Alerts / Special weather statements are posted in the tiniest font available. If I want to know what it says, i have to screenshot it and zoom in. It isn’t as though there’s not enough room on the screen for a larger font; as most alerts take up less than half the page, and one can always scroll down.

### 1/5 — Battery drainer

*2026-03-25*

Why does the app require location permission to work if the station it chooses is not even near me anyway -_-......

### 1/5 — Don’t bow down to Trump!

*2026-03-19, version 2.4.1*

Why is the Canadian government using a map that has the text “Gulf of America” instead of just “Gulf of Mexico?”
As Canadians we should only be using “Gulf of Mexico.”

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Accurate AND surprisingly interesting

*2026-06-19, version 2.6.0*

Honestly, I downloaded this in the hope of getting more accurate info about if it is going to rain but the little write ups about Canadian weather topics have been really cool. I just learned about mammatus clouds! The UI could be a bit slicker, but the info is great. Good work enviro Can!

### 5/5 — Fantastic App

*2026-06-17, version 2.6.0*

Love this app. It’s my go to for weather info. Good data. Clear warnings. The random messages with information about different types of weather is a nice little perk that’s very informative too. Only wish I got notifications for them. Notifications for weather events work fine though which is most important.

### 5/5 — WeatherCan

*2026-06-08, version 2.6.0*

I thought the app was not working but it was my vpn. All good five stars

### 5/5 — Nice redesign

*2026-05-23, version 2.5.0*

Nicely redesigned interface. Much better than before. Really importantly, they don’t have any ads and so the interface is pretty slick and reliable compared to things like the Weather Network. However, some new features such as forecasted radar projections would be useful and there’s probably still polishing to do on the visual appeal of the interface. They should also include even further forecast things like 14 day forecast, even if it’s lower confidence.

### 5/5 — Great and super accurate!

*2026-05-20, version 2.5.0*

So far this app is amazing, sure it does not have future radar… but that makes it so accurate! Everything about it is so nice highly recommend!

### 5/5 — Apple watch

*2026-03-19, version 2.5.0*

Very good app. Needs Apple watch display

### 5/5 — Super!

*2026-03-08, version 2.4.1*

The app works just fine on my phone and iPad! I find the messages to be interesting and helps me to understand and appreciate the nuances of the weather systems and challenges of the weather trends due to global issues

### 5/5 — Excellent info, and free!

*2026-02-28, version 2.4.1*

Sure, it could use an iPad app. But this app is great. Logo could be nicer, but thank you!

### 5/5 — I like the app, but . . .

*2026-02-19, version 2.4.1*

I wish it had widgets for my watch and phone’s lock screen.

### 5/5 — Great App!!! ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️

*2026-02-09, version 2.4.1*

This is the best weather app for Canadians. I don’t trust the NOAA forecast anymore. Other apps are mostly based on non reliable USA NOAA data.
