## What is Weathercaster?

Weathercaster is a better way to look at the weather - using charts. Chart based forecasts are advantageous when you want to know not just if a weather event will happen on a given day, but when that event will start and stop. Using charts also allows you to know more at from a quick glance (temperature, wind, sun, clouds, rain, snow, and the timing of the weather).


Weathercaster is the best way to view weather forecasts. Powered by Apple WeatherKit and designed with elegant minimalism, Weathercaster strips away clutter and shows exactly what you need to know using easy-to-read charts. We think everyone can benefit from seeing weather data in this format, but it’s especially useful to boaters, sailors, hikers, and adventurers who navigate by understanding weather trends.

Our charts condense temperature, cloud cover, rain, snow, lightning, and wind speed into a format that is easy to read at a glance. 

Privacy first. Always:
We take privacy very seriously and have implemented the most stringent privacy policy possible. We use no third-party analytics, no ads, no trackers, and we only use your location when you specifically ask us to. 

Features:
• Fine-tune any forecast location using a map—including remote spots like mountain summits, wilderness areas, and offshore locations.
• Charts powered by WeatherKit showing temperature, cloud cover, rain, snow, storm probabilities, and wind speeds. In the US, WeahterKit uses models and data from NOAA and NWS.
• View precipitation amounts for the past 12–48 hours, and see expected rainfall from upcoming storms.
• View up to 48 hours of past weather history alongside forecasts to spot trends. We believe its always useful to see both forecasts and observations.
• Home Screen widget and Apple Watch app are available for quick, glanceable access to forecasts.
• Forecasts are available offline - you can download a forecast before your adventure and see it while you're off the grid.
• Share forecast charts with friends and export to CSV format to support your professional workflow. 
• Quickly add any hurricane currently being tracked by the National Hurricane Center (NHC).

The more I use this app the more I realize that charts really are the best way to view weather data. It may seem intimidating at first but it’s super intuitive once you get to know it. Also if you email the developer he’s super nice and he’ll help you out. Over time this has become the only weather app I use.

This app is excellent because the data is displayed on one page in a mostly analog format. This allows one to understand the weather conditions at just a glance without having to digest a lot of numbers or switch between pages.

Love this app for my weather updates, it’s great to preview in graph format and be prepped for the day ahead.

Fun fact, the development team has Canadian (and French) roots and spends a lot of time in Canada. This is an excellent weather app with a great data visualization that’s a vast improvement over apple weather. I can see everything on one screen and I actually know when it’s going to rain now rather than just that it’s going to rain “today” which honestly makes all the difference. 

Also, there is a cool cat easter egg hidden in settings. 😻

This is by far the most accurate and worthwhile weather app. I never really realized how much I talk about the weather, both professionally and personally, but ever since I got this app I’m now the go-to weather guy. This app beats out all the other ones I’ve tried and is absolutely worth the subscription. Do yourself a favor: download and subscribe to this app and never get caught off guard by the weather again.
