I love that I can quickly check conditions before heading out and trust what it shows. Feel free to contact us if you have any feedback or feature requests! ### 5/5 — Fantastic! *2025-08-19* I was hesitant to download Weathercaster, as looking at the screenshots made me think it would be a little confusing with the way it presents data and the charts it utilizes to do so. I was wrong! In reality, the charts, and everything else, are very easy to read and use. Plus, the app looks amazing on both iOS and macOS—I don’t have an iPad, but it most likely looks equally amazing on it. But how accurate are the weather reports it generates? That’s most important. Weathercaster uses Apple’s WeatherKit API to draw its data from. However, I get much more accurate predictions from it than from Apple’s weather app and others I’ve been testing alongside it that use the same API. In resuming, Weathercaster is a great weather app with a beautiful user interface and charts that are easy to read and a joy to use. For example, I know what time during the day is going to rain while at the same time knowing what the temperature is going to be, and whether or not it’s cloudy. The most important info isn't if its going to rain on a given day but when it will rain (maybe it'll rain when I'm out and about or maybe in the middle of the night, knowing the difference is key). Perfect for getting the forecast over the week and understanding weather conditions for outdoor activities like sailing and biking. The default weather app that comes with iOS not only is inaccurate, it lacks crucial information. This app was made with passion by people that truly understand weather and it can present to you very detailed and accurate weather in a very clean and easy to understand visual presentation. Rather than tapping between 8 different screens to understand wind, cloud cover, rainfall amounts, and lightning risk you can get all of that information on a simple chart. The widget and watch app are super useful as well. It helps me make critical decisions on my hikes. The format is much easier to read than the weather channel and accuweather. **Developer response:** Thanks for review. I designed the app around what I needed out of a weather app for my activities, particularly where I felt that the default app wasn't cutting it, and I use it for hiking as well. But this is a very limited app and money hungry. I would have been happy to pay for the app if it was worth it and if everything you click on ask for money, maybe you should try a one week free trail period. **Developer response:** EDIT: I recently made the free mode less restricted and enabled more features without having to pay. Would you be interested in trying it again and updating your review? The app is mostly free to use, and there are very few features behind the paywall. The only major limitation is you can only add two personal locations and there's a message reminding you to upgrade. Aside from that the app is pretty much free to use and only has a couple power suer features locked down like moving locations via a map. We opted for making nearly all features free (with limited locations) rather than a 1 week trial because we thought it would give users a better idea of what the app can offer without worrying about accidentally forgetting to cancel renewal after the trial etc. Please contact us and we can talk about how a trial could work. It may seem intimidating at first but it’s super intuitive once you get to know it. Also if you email the developer he’s super nice and he’ll help you out.
