Finally a free velocity radar 🙏

### 5/5 — Great app!

*2026-05-19, version 1.21.1*

This app is great for being free, had a few radar/weather apps over the years but this is definitely the best one. Found through Max Velocity.

### 5/5 — thanks max!

*2026-05-19, version 1.21.1*

Max is cute and likes this app therefore I like this app

### 5/5 — Awesome Radar

*2026-05-19, version 1.21.1*

Recommended by Max Velocity. It’s great to have a free app with velocity on it for iOS. Great so far!

### 5/5 — Thank you Max

*2026-05-18, version 1.21.1*

Thank you for the recommendation, Max! This app is super in-depth and I can’t wait to see it evolve!

### 5/5 — Awesome radar but…

*2026-05-17, version 1.21.0*

This is by far the best weather radar on the store but the only thing it’s missing is when in a weather warning there should be a sound alert and notification pop up to let you be aware

### 5/5 — I love this as a storm chaser

*2026-05-17*

It’s just so good

### 5/5 — Amazing!!!

*2026-05-12, version 1.21.0*

Has all the features of radar omega, Radarscope, weather wise but for free!! You can get even more for only $10 a month which personally isn’t bad at all for what it gives

### 5/5 — Must have app

*2026-05-11, version 1.21.0*

Love that we have a search function now. Now hopefully the next big thing we get is the composite map. Really like the free options on there so hopefully we get it here cause that’s really all I feel for now is missing

### 5/5 — Best weather app yet

*2026-05-09, version 1.21.0*

Most accurate radar I’ve seen then those other apps like the weather channel, and very persistent data

### 5/5 — Great app

*2026-05-09, version 1.21.0*

This app goes hard, I love all of the free features, and the ui is very smooth and works well

### 5/5 — I love it

*2026-05-09, version 1.21.0*

I have been thoroughly enjoying this weather application thus far. It is refreshing to have an additional weather app to rely on & it meets my expectation! I discovered this application through Max Velocity.

### 5/5 — So much for free!

*2026-05-08*

I’ve had multiple Weather Apps over the past few years and this by far covers everything you need and more. This isn’t just a plug and play App- you kinda have to know what you’re looking at and what certain features do. If you know, you know. I’ve cancelled my Subs for the other Apps and started using this one- plus it’s cheaper and had way more features!

### 5/5 — Amazing

*2026-05-08, version 1.21.0*

This is one of the greatest radar apps I’ve used. I know Max Velocity promotes it, but he actually takes the weather serious, unlike Ryan hall and that garage app he promotes. Please keep this app professional and don’t go the Ryan yall route. I’ve used radar scope for years and this is perfect to pair with it. A+ to the Devs.

### 5/5 — Best radar app ever

*2026-05-07*

Holy moly… a weather radar app that is free WITH VELOCITY RADAR!!! Used this for a few minutes and I immediately recommend to the fellow meteorologists out there.

### 5/5 — Ease of use + abilities

*2026-05-07*

WeatherFront has completely dominated now in my opinion. In professional radar, the two main best things you can get in terms of just being an enthusiast or being a chaser and spotter is ease of use and the amount of features that you get, this app has both. They have taken the ease of RadarScope and abilities of every other app into one.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 2/5 — Future radar

*2026-05-09, version 1.21.0*

Where is it? No way am I paying for it with so many more free weather apps that have it?
Interesting I get out of the app and AccuWeather issues a “fog advisory “ but nothing from this app??? Makes you really wonder!!!

### 2/5 — Another sub

*2026-05-05, version 1.21.0*

You can get the same info by going to NWS at no cost. $9.99/month, no thanks.

### 2/5 — Eh it’s good but with caveats

*2025-11-15, version 1.14.0*

My honest critique is that most products are locked behind a paywall. I totally understand where y’all are coming from but at least some products should be free like reflectivity or total qpf on the HRRR.

### 2/5 — Many Pop-Ups Wanting You to Upgrade

*2025-07-23, version 1.8*

You get a pop-up on many products you click on wanting you to upgrade for $9.99 per month.

### 3/5 — Great app - missing critical feature

*2026-05-16, version 1.21.0*

3 stars for now. Great app - missing critical features to be truly usable. While it’s a great all in one application for most uses the lack of user definable locations makes it unusable for making weather calls at one or more locations if you’re either not physically preset there or don’t know the exact location from memory. Second is quad screen display mode on tablets. During severe weather events the less screens one has to switch the better off one is.Third is historical data mode for further analysis after an event. Fourth is no favorites to store multiple frequently accessed radar sites. $100/yr for an app that doesn’t have these abilities is frankly disappointing. WeatherWise, Radar Omega & Radar Scope all offer this functionality. The imagery is great, the UI could be a bit cleaner/more user friendly but I suspect that it would become easier with more frequent use.

### 3/5 — Paywalls data almost all other weather apps provide for free, and is free tax payer provided data

*2026-05-05, version 1.21.0*

Fast responsive app, but paywalls things like weather outlooks.

Hope this gets fixed quick because it’s unforgivable to paywall SPC outlooks.

### 3/5 — Excellent for an overview BUT

*2026-05-05, version 1.21.0*

Maybe I’m missing something with this app.
It has a huge amount of content and is probably great for storm chasers etc.
However I do like to see at a glance the anticipated temps / precipitation per hour over several days in my area and that I can’t see that this app supports. Maybe I don’t have it on the correct setting.
Again it seems to be the same with radar.

This app looks to be great for an overview on a quite technical meteorological basis but for those like me who want a more basic weather app for their area I’m not sure this is a go to weather app.

### 3/5 — Hail and satellite

*2026-05-04, version 1.21.0*

Wish you could get satellite products and hail modes for free you can do this on the weather wise app

### 3/5 — Eh…Looks good, but

*2026-05-04, version 1.21.0*

First a foremost Max, it’s not really free. Like everything else, you can’t explore the app because you get a pop up that gotta pay 9.99. Just deleted app, and will
Just continue to watch Max on YouTube.

### 3/5 — Great app for beginners not willing to spend money

*2025-06-08, version 1.5*

I love the way you can customize the mapping and stuff but the only problem is most features are behind a paywall that are free on other apps, like satellite data most model data and such so if you are just someone who want to know if it’s gonna rain or just want to know the latest hrrr model data then it’s a good app it would be a 4/5 if most features that are subscription based are free on other apps

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — GOATED app

*2026-06-30*

This app makes my toenails feel very warm

### 5/5 — WeatherFront support and service

*2026-06-18*

John at WeatherFront took care of me in a very timely and efficient manner. I’m an older user. John treated me like I knew what I was doing when I didn’t and I appreciate the respectful service. The app is so good I am canceling my other weather apps to concentrate on learning the extensive features of WeatherFront. I have also recommended this to my friends and family members as the go to weather app to stay weather safe and weather informed. I strongly suggest everyone get on board. Thanks again John!

**Developer response:** Thanks so much! It was a pleasure working with you - always happy to answer questions and help out as necessary. We are glad to have you on board!

### 5/5 — Good app I recommend if you like weather

*2026-06-14*

Very good app I love to watch velocity I love how I can see scan time of radar I don’t have much to list but it’s a very good app everything about it is good i have a suggestion what if you/y’all add traffic cameras It would be very helpful for areas where maybes there’s severe thunderstorm but no chasers you could watch a traffic camera maybe and I don’t have pro but I feel like y’all should add historical radar to it if y’all can and for pro fast scan (I think might be in already) and for fastscan you could also see a line on the map spinning which is showing you where the radar is scanning that’s all I wanna say! Bye!

### 5/5 — Fantastic App with Fantastic Potential

*2026-06-13*

This app practically has me shaking with excitement as to how far it can go. It is more feature rich than most paid radar/weather apps, and—with more development—will be the best app of its kind.

With that being said, it’s the little things. I can change the mesoscale colors but I would love to be able to change the colors of watches and warnings. I would love to also have a better settings interface, whether that be dropdowns or pins or something; the choice is really yours.

Anyways fantastic app. I’m really tempted to switch from my paid app to this one—maybe even buy the paid version of this one. Great work and keep it up.

### 5/5 — Max

*2026-06-13*

Sometimes I like to pretend I’m Maxie-Pooh when using this app. I like to tell Alexa to change the mood, to which all of the lights in my room turn a dark but mysterious amber color. I set up my flashlight above my monitor to point directly at my face and throw on my glasses because like him, only the rays behind God himself can put the intensity of my astigmatism to shame. I then shut all of my windows and doors, ensuring no air goes in or out of the room. Before my grand finale, I make sure my 72-hour worn ankle socks are nice and ripe- with my trailed basketball shorts and stretched out t-shirt. Once I have confirmed my attire I then get my step stool to make myself approximately 6’10”, raise my desk and then subtly and smoothly say “Riley has an update, go ahed Riley”

### 5/5 — Amazing

*2026-06-09*

Really easy to use, makes tracking storms even more fun

### 5/5 — Absolutely the best!

*2026-05-28, version 1.21.1*

This app is both compatible / accurate and accessible for people who don’t want to waste money on weather apps! There is so much to explore when downloading this app, many handy tips and guides throughout your experience too! I usually never write reviews but this app is amazing!

### 5/5 — Best app of the year

*2026-05-28, version 1.21.1*

The app have very much cool features without payment or else , best free to use app , gonna more cool if the developers add TVS icons or Tornado path arrow ,…

### 5/5 — Very nice weather app

*2026-05-25, version 1.21.1*

I’m a Radar Scope guy and this is the only other radar app I’ve had a positive first impression using. The map is easy to interpret and there are really nice tools included for a free weather app. I think it’s a great tool for people and would reccomend downloading. Mess with the settings and get it dialed in to your liking.

### 5/5 — New to chasing Storms

*2026-05-22*

I’m still Fairly new to storm chasing, but I’ve followed the weather my whole life pretty much. But I’ve already found this app to be incredibly Valuable. It stands out well above my local weather app, both in terms of accuracy and usability. As I continue learning
more about weather patterns and storm behavior, This app has made the process much easier to understand. It presents complex information in a way that feels accessible, which has really helped build my confidence and knowledge.
Thank you.
